Super Gene Hunting Ground

Long Aotian pondered for a moment and said:

”If we’re talking about those skilled in both chess and spiritual power, originally Vice Dean Long Hang would count as one, besides him, there are a few other candidates,

such as Dean Wanyan Hong of the Feibao Empire Chess Institute, Eldest Prince Bai Zetian of the Youming Empire, and Dean Bai Ming of the Youming Empire Chess Institute, as well as Su Xiao, Dean of the Fire Wolf Empire Chess Institute,

especially Su Xiao, Dean of the Fire Wolf Empire Chess Institute, who has declared before the tournament that he wants to challenge our top Grandmaster.”

Next to him, Long Hang said:

”I played chess with Su Xiao, Dean of the Fire Wolf Empire Chess Institute, three years ago, this man truly is a talent, it is said he acquired a treasured chess manual from Earth from somewhere,

and for the past three years has secluded himself, focusing on studying Go techniques and cultivating spiritual power. Prior to this tournament, Bai Ming and Su Xiao played three games, all of which Bai Ming lost,

Bai Ming once lamented that the champion of this Go exchange tournament is assuredly Su Xiao, perhaps Su Xiao even has the ability to challenge our top Go Grandmaster.”

The Emperor of Great Dragon said:

”Ao Tian, in the upcoming rounds of the knockout tournament, can you arrange for Yang Xiao to face each of these individuals in order for them to eliminate each other?”

”It’s very difficult. Today’s draw belongs to the first round, originally the opponent against Yang Xiao was another contestant affiliated with our empire, I privately reached out to him and switched him with Vice Dean Long Hang,

however in the later matches it will become increasingly difficult to arrange further exchanges, but considering Yang Xiao’s current situation, they are bound to meet in the final rounds eventually,

Father, aside from the Go matches, can’t we send someone privately to assassinate Yang Xiao?”

”No, absolutely not. This is an international exchange tournament held by our Great Dragon Empire, no accidents can occur, otherwise, where will the face of our Great Dragon Empire be?

Furthermore, if we attempt to assassinate Yang Xiao in secret, success would be acceptable, but failure will certainly cause greater turmoil, giving the Youming Empire and Feibao Empire an excuse to jointly attack us,

do not forget, Yang Xiao is now an ally of the Feibao Empire, our Great Dragon Empire is currently weak, we cannot act impulsively.”

”Yes, Father.”

”First organize the Go exchange tournament well, I’ll go see the Great Grandmaster, this matter might finally rely on the Great Grandmaster to intercept Yang Xiao on the chessboard.”

...

In a private room of a certain tavern in Dragon City, Eldest Prince Bai Zetian of the Youming Empire, Bai Ming, Su Xiao, Dean of the Fire Wolf Empire Chess Institute, and several other Go experts were having a meal and chatting together.

Bai Ming raised his glass to Su Xiao beside him and said:

”Brother Su, I toast to you, wishing you to become the champion of this Go exchange tournament.”

Su Xiao chuckled and drank the wine in his glass without modesty.

Bai Zetian then said:

”Dean Su, with your chess skills, securing the championship this time is naturally a certainty, I think perhaps you might even challenge the Great Grandmaster publicly.”

Su Xiao smiled slightly and said:

”Naturally, once I secure the championship, I will publicly challenge the Great Grandmaster. For three years, I, Su, researched chess day and night for the purpose of defeating the Great Grandmaster. Humph, a woman becoming the top Grandmaster in our Witch Star’s Go world, where is our dignity as men?”

The dozen or so people at the table joined in to flatter him:

”Dean Su is highly skilled in chess, surely capable of defeating the Great Grandmaster.”

”Indeed, once Dean Su defeats the Great Grandmaster, next year’s international Go exchange tournament will be held in the Fire Wolf Empire, and Dean Su will then become the new top Grandmaster in our Witch Star’s Go world.”

”Come, Dean Su, we toast you, wishing you victory!”

”Cheers!”

...

After several rounds of drinks, the group chatted aimlessly about various topics, someone mentioned today’s events at the tournament site.

”Vice Dean Long Hang’s chess skills are already very advanced, yet he was defeated by that Yang Xiao, and it was such a miserable defeat with Divine Sense damaged, it’s quite bizarre.”

”Indeed, I don’t understand why Long Hang didn’t concede earlier and insisted on going to the end?”

”That Yang Xiao is truly exceptional, considering even Long Hang lost so badly, I think Yang Xiao is very likely to be the dark horse of this tournament.”

”Dean Su, what do you think about Yang Xiao’s incident?” someone asked directly.

Su Xiao smiled faintly,

”I’ve been sequestered studying chess in recent years, not knowing much about outside matters, this Yang Xiao is said to have emerged recently, I have not had the chance to interact with him and do not know about him,

but today I watched his match with Long Hang’s captain, to be honest, it really wasn’t anything special, he missed many key positions, if I were playing, I’d only need a hundred moves to directly defeat Long Hang, wouldn’t waste so much time.”

Su Xiao was very confident because the match between Yang Xiao and Long Hang indeed had many flaws, these flaws were only understood by Long Hang and Yang Xiao themselves, as for those viewing from the outside, many had the same thought as Su Xiao.

Moreover, Su Xiao now considers himself highly proficient, disregarding even the stature of Bai Ming, Dean of the Youming Empire Chess Institute, his challenge targets directly towards the top Grandmaster Chen Rong, not even considering Yang Xiao.

Hearing Su Xiao speak this way, everyone echoed his thoughts:

”Dean Su is absolutely right, if Yang Xiao encounters you, he admits it’s a dead end.”

That night, Su Xiao was resting at the Royal Inn, there was a knock at the door, upon opening, he saw Long Aotian standing at the entrance with two guards.

Su Xiao was taken aback,

”So it’s Prince, I wonder what brings you here so late?”

Long Aotian smiled and said:

”Dean Su, sorry to disturb you, may I come into your room to talk privately?”

Su Xiao nodded,

”Please come in!”

Long Aotian entered Su Xiao’s room, ordered the two guards to stand guard outside, and closed the door.

Su Xiao and Long Aotian sat down.

”Your Highness, please speak quickly, I have to rest, there’s the Go competition tomorrow.”

Long Aotian said with a smile:

”With Dean Su’s skill, what opponents could there be in this Go exchange tournament? They all just serve to be your backdrop.”

Su Xiao listened, laughed heartily, and said happily:

”Prince is flattering me, I, Su, don’t have that kind of skill.”

”Dean Su, I have a small request, if you’re willing to help, it’s just a small effort, I have a chess manual from Earth to gift.”

As he spoke, Long Aotian took out a somewhat damaged chess manual from a Space Ring, this manual was one among many collected by Long Aotian while on Earth, belonging to a medium to advanced level endgame series.

Such endgame manuals are rare for people of Witch Star.

Su Xiao is a chess enthusiast, he’s not interested in other things, but he has a great fondness for chess manuals, he took it and looked, although the manual wasn’t particularly advanced, it was indeed a rare manual.

Su Xiao placed the manual on the table and looked at Long Aotian, smiled, and said:

”Is it that His Highness wants me to kill Yang Xiao in the Go match?”
