Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

Seeing Yang Yu’s attack approaching again, Volcrix wove a shield for himself, continuously casting acceleration magic within the shield, allowing his speed to surpass Yang Yu’s.

With an incredible burst of speed from his legs, Volcrix swung his longsword to initiate an assault.

Yang Yu once again used his agile form to evade the strike, kicking Volcrix in the stomach, sending him crashing into the thick crystal wall.

”Having all that strength but not knowing how to use it.

How do you usually train? Fighting small critters, only challenging opponents you can defeat?

Do you want to become a master who splits mountains with one chop after years of chopping firewood?

Such a master, if they can’t even land a hit, what’s the point?”

Yang Yu said before that if his twig hit a hundred times, he would count it as winning, but he never said he would only attack with a twig.

He never planned to fight solely with a small twig from the start.

”Get up, show me what you’ve learned!”

Volcrix gritted his teeth and stood up again, brewing his next attack.

The battle continued incessantly, yet the outcome was already decided.

From start to finish, Yang Yu, as per the rules he set, never released a single skill, effortlessly dodging all of Volcrix’s attacks with his divine evasion techniques, and then launched counterattacks with calm composure.

Sometimes kicking, sometimes punching, sometimes using his elbow... occasionally poking a few times with the twig.

The person in charge shook his head helplessly.

Midway through their battle, it became quite dull.

This was a brutally overwhelming defeat.

The one being beaten didn’t even have a chance to fight back.

This match, long devoid of suspense, failed to interest anyone.

Using his sword to prop himself up, Volcrix launched another charge.

He was already beaten black and blue by Yang Yu, with his mana nearly depleted.

He couldn’t accept the fact that someone who seemed to be overwhelmed in every way was easily crushing him.

Over an hour passed, and Volcrix hadn’t landed a single hit on Yang Yu.

Yang Yu, as if playing a game, dodged all of Volcrix’s attacks time and again.

This time was no exception.

Yang Yu targeted the flaw revealed when Volcrix swung his sword, inserting his foot into the gap and knocking the hero to the ground.

”Snap—”

A twig stood in front of Heroic Warrior Volcrix.

The twig remained intact, without a single blemish, even the leaves on it were vibrant and fresh.

”It’s already ninety-nine times.

Can you still stand up? This twig is within reach.

If you can touch this twig, this time I’ll count it as your win.

This is the last chance.”

Yang Yu’s words were still filled with disdain, as he raised the wooden twig to poke at Volcrix.

Volcrix’s gripping hands slowly loosened, seemingly relieved.

Yet Yang Yu’s twig never landed on Volcrix’s head.

Yang Yu understood why the Wind Snatching of the Wind Wolf Clan was so angry.

Such an enemy had no value at all.

They were just a large experience bag.

And a large experience bag that didn’t require much effort to obtain.

The first time receiving this experience bag, Yang Yu couldn’t deny his joy.

But now...

The disappointment in the hero far exceeded the joy of gaining high experience points.

Currently, Yang Yu didn’t know what the Demon King and the Demon King Army looked like.

But the Demon King coming to invade this world surely wasn’t stupid, and would certainly attack from every direction rather than lining up to be defeated one by one.

Yang Yu couldn’t split himself to fight the entire Demon King Army.

His current thought was to follow the approach of most RPGs, gradually defeating the high-power units of the Demon King Army, weakening its strength, and eventually defeating the Demon King.

The premise of this plan was that this world must have sufficient power to block the Demon King Army and buy enough time.

In the past, Yang Yu always wanted to turn heroes into a unit of combat measurement.

After realizing this world might truly exist, Yang Yu gradually changed his mind.

If he insisted on turning heroes into a unit of combat measurement, many might die due to his naive thoughts.

In animation and games, such scenes have played out countless times.

In this world, many just want to live peacefully.

Yang Yu held no ambition to save all beings.

If asked to choose between the people and himself, he would undoubtedly choose himself without hesitation.

He says he can’t even save himself, so why bother with others?

How many will die after the Demon King descends isn’t something Yang Yu can control either.

He just felt slightly lonely if familiar faces were suddenly gone.

After all, if he had to save the world in the end, he might as well save a few more people, maybe some whom he knew.

If the current hero could become more like a hero.

By then, when Yang Yu implements his plan, it should go a bit more smoothly.

But...

How the hero eventually turns out isn’t something Yang Yu can decide alone.

Furthermore, Yang Yu has many things to do, he has no time to cater to the hero, taking care of him like a father would.

What Yang Yu can do now is give the hero a good beating, and then....

Yang Yu tossed the twig aside, complaining:

”Ah ah ah, is this really a hero?

So pathetically weak, I should’ve heeded the goddess’s advice at the start and chosen to be the hero, but instead, for the thrill, I picked this account.

Despite being over level 150, and having experienced so many life-or-death situations, his attributes aren’t even half of the hero leisurely slaying monsters, fantasizing about being invincible in this world.

Honestly... When I last saw the hero, I thought there was an opportunity to cooperate.

Turns out...

I really got excited for nothing.

Also, my information is spread all over the place, yet you don’t recognize me at all.

Back then, you somewhat resembled a hero, but it seems it was just an act.”

Listening to Yang Yu’s words, Volcrix couldn’t help but widen his eyes, even if he were a fool he now knew Yang Yu’s true identity.

”Unfortunately, once you choose your character, it seems you can’t change it.

I wonder what others chose...

I originally wanted to farm calmly at home, and instead encountered something like this.

”

Yang Yu walked to the side, picked up the scattered sword, and stored it in the system,

”I’ve said that to become strong, swallow your pride, go besiege those masters, and try to strategize for those underground mazes.

In the end, you didn’t do a thing.

Arrogant, self-centered, and unwilling to really look at this world, talking to such a person is useless.

Being a hero is just a title, but you’re merely a child who hasn’t grown up.
