Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

Vorquis did not answer, he didn’t know how to respond to Wind Snatching’s question.

He was so confident and had used his carefully honed Skill, yet everything was easily dodged by Wind Snatching.

If only comparing attributes, he should be stronger...

Why is it so embarrassing now?

Vorquis tried to pull the long sword out of Wind Snatching’s hand, but the Sword Blade held by Wind Snatching didn’t move an inch.

Wind Snatching increased the pressure on his hand, gripping the sword tightly.

The long sword, having changed hands many times, finally gave a weary hum and, unable to withstand this world, broke in half.

The swirling energy around Wind Snatching surged violently, and he tossed the broken half of the sword out of the arena like throwing away garbage.

The strong wind seemed to blow all over his body, making every hair float in the air, exuding an overwhelming presence.

His light blue eyes emitted a sharp light as Wind Snatching questioned Vorquis again, each word resounding and powerful:

”I ask you, is this your entire Strength?”

Vorquis met Wind Snatching’s gaze as an inexplicable fear welled up in his heart, clutching tightly the remaining broken sword in his hand.

Unable to do anything, once again unable to do anything.

Why... did it turn out like this?

Clearly, I was reincarnated into this world, expecting an easy and joyful adventuring life, making enemies submit with my powerful strength, gathering companions with my gentleness...

Why... in this world, is nothing going my way.

I am a Hero, this world is supposed to revolve around me, no one stronger than me, no one wiser than me, I should be the type of person who can achieve anything he wants...

That’s right, I am that kind of person who can achieve whatever he sets his mind to, and won’t fall here.

I am the one chosen by the goddess, I am a Hero, I also made efforts in this world... defeated all kinds of robbers, defeated various terrifying Demons...

I am, unique!

Grinding his teeth, Vorquis erupted with incredible Speed, thrusting the broken sword towards Wind Snatching’s chest.

Wind Snatching did not dodge, allowing Vorquis to lunge towards his chest.

”Splat——”

Vorquis’s broken sword hadn’t even touched Wind Snatching’s chest when it was bounced away by the cyclone on Wind Snatching’s chest.

The resolve on Vorquis’s face was dispelled by this sudden ”accident”, turning into endless confusion.

Wind Snatching took it all in, an unprecedented feeling surged within him.

He felt mocked.

The swirling energy that acted as the strongest Defense for the Wind Wolf Clan is no secret, it’s a common knowledge that even foreigners could find with a little inquiry.

Wind Snatching thought Vorquis had found the weak point of the cyclone and wanted to make a reversal, but...

”With such Strength, yet as weak as a weakling. Skill, decision-making, Reflex... all trash!”

Wind Snatching felt as if his pre-match concerns over Vorquis were sheer idiocy.

Someone like Vorquis should not appear on this stage! Someone like Vorquis is not worthy to be on a stage meant only for the strong!

Even those he defeated in the previous rounds were a thousand times stronger than Vorquis.

They, at least, had the heart to become truly strong!

Wind Snatching swung his sharp claws, Vorquis sensed the danger and wanted to dodge, but alas, Wind Snatching’s movements were too fast.

In the blink of an eye, Vorquis’s head was grasped and slammed onto the arena floor, creating a huge crater.

But it didn’t stop there, Wind Snatching dragged Vorquis out of the crater, gripping his head, and smashed him into the ground again.

The audience was inevitably dismayed, watching with bated breath.

This wasn’t a battle, anyone could see, Iyas Wind Snatching was just venting.

Again and again, Wind Snatching roared, raged, becoming furious, and the entire battle platform trembled.

Bright red liquid flowed down from Vorquis’s forehead, countless golden strands scattered into the air, and his luxurious Cloak was covered in dust.

The only thing unscathed was the Armor on Vorquis’s body, the Armor protecting his body was useless in this situation, only shimmering under the sunlight, a cruel irony.

Finally, the referee could no longer bear it.

Once confirming Vorquis lost consciousness, the referee immediately declared Wind Snatching the victor.

Only then did Wind Snatching calm down.

He didn’t even glance at Vorquis in the crater, accepted a simple Healing, and left without looking back.

Wind Snatching couldn’t hide his disappointment toward Vorquis.

Somewhere in the resting room, there was also someone leaving.

After an unknown amount of time, under the treatment of the Dragon God Conference Committee, Vorquis gradually regained consciousness.

He lifted his head, dazedly gazing at the white clouds drifting across the sky.

He had lost, lost decisively.

Vorquis sat there in a stupor, unable to comprehend how he lost, until the Dragon God Conference Committee came to usher people away, and he shakily stood up and left.

Walking through the passageway exclusively for contestants, Vorquis’s gaze gradually turned vacant, as if he was having a very long dream.

The dream that hasn’t ended until now.

What Hero, what Otherworld, what Subhuman, what Dragon God Conference... all of these, are just a dream.

Upon waking, waiting for him would surely be the endless exercises, the never-ending competitiveness.

In the sea of books, the only solace would be the light-hearted and fun shows and the games played during fragments of time.

However, even this last bit of interest is being stripped away by those people.

I must be tired, which is why I had such a long dream.

If it’s a dream, sooner or later it will end.

So even if I do nothing, even if I am a Hero, it doesn’t matter if I don’t save the world...

After all, I’m not the strongest either.

As he walked, Vorquis saw a figure leaning against the wall in the narrow corridor.

Vorquis bared his teeth at him:

”What are you doing here now! You must be here to mock me, right? That guy is strong, and you definitely can’t beat him either. I reckon he’s the champion of this Dragon God Conference. I’m not ashamed to lose to him!”

Yang Yu walked away from the wall he was leaning on, looking at Vorquis impatiently,

”One thing you’re right about, I’m here to mock you!

I won’t just laugh, I’ll laugh out loud.

And there’s one more thing, we have a score to settle between us. I still remember what you said back then.

I don’t want to be troubled by garbage like you again.

This time, I’ll especially show you my true skills....
