Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

Vorquis seems to want to hide his identity as a Hero, yet deep down he wishes everyone would soon find out his true identity as a Hero.

It’s likely that he has some agreement that forbids him from revealing his true identity.

If he could reveal and prove his identity, perhaps Vorquis would already be living the high life under the name of the Hero.

The more Yang Yu noticed this, the more he felt sorry for Vorquis.

This kind of Hero, is he really arranged by the goddess to save the world?

Or has the original upright Hero already been spoiled?

”You really have quite the confidence.

You think you can only draw even with the Hero, while I think we can challenge both the Demon King and the Hero...

But here’s the issue.

Do you feel offended, thinking we’ll overshadow you, hence you act so aggressively here?

You’re neither the Demon King nor the Hero, our adventure group’s name has nothing to do with you, right?” Yang Yu’s every word was powerful, attracting a crowd.

”I...”

Vorquis was momentarily speechless, he desperately wanted to tell Yang Yu that he was the Hero.

Yet as the words reached his mouth, Vorquis forcibly swallowed them back down.

”What? Did I hit the nail on the head?

Coming to taunt others for such a reason, your mind is indeed narrow.

If a true Hero saw this scene, they would surely mock your current actions.

If it were a real Hero, they would just dismiss our adventure group’s name with a laugh, confidently challenge us.

Even in failure, a true Hero would admit their defeat with a smile.”

Whenever Yang Yu spoke of a ”true Hero,” his tone would become significantly heavier, his words piercing Vorquis’s heart like sharp swords.

Vorquis tightly gripped the smooth hilt of his sword, eyes glaring at Yang Yu, he gritted his teeth, his chest continuously heaving, emitting short breaths.

Vorquis tried countless times to calm his mind, but a surge of heat had already spread through his body, making it impossible to settle down, wanting desperately to rush over and knock Yang Yu to the ground, making him retract his words.

After a few more short breaths, Vorquis understood.

If he rushed up now, wouldn’t it just prove Yang Yu’s point about being narrow-minded?

Raising his chin, Vorquis’s gaze carried a hint of arrogance:

”You’re right, a true Hero wouldn’t quibble with insignificant people like you.

In the end, it comes down to strength.

Anyone can talk big, but strength is proven only through real combat.

I admit I underestimated you last time, but I won’t make the same mistake again.

What I can’t stand is...

The Hero cares for the world, works tirelessly to save it, I respect that, so even though I have extraordinary strength, I only claim to draw even with him.

And you, you simply don’t understand what respect means.

For the Hero destined to save this world, or those who saved it in the past, you don’t hold any respect, arrogantly claiming you can defeat the Hero, defeat the Demon King.

That’s what truly angers me.”

Yang Yu thumped his chest vigorously, ”Every past Hero fulfilled their duties diligently, banishing the Demon King, I respect them from the bottom of my heart.

I don’t know the future Hero, where he is, what he looks like, what character he has.

If he cannot fulfill his duties, then someone must rise up.

The title of Hero and our adventure group are just labels.

Being bound by the title, thinking that without the Hero the world should give up, is the most foolish thing.”

”The Hero is more than just a title, you’re truly underestimating the Hero.

I tell you, the Hero is chosen by the goddess to save this world, possessing knowledge beyond your imagination.

Even if I told you, you wouldn’t understand, I don’t waste breath on you.

You’re here to participate in the Dragon God Conference, aren’t you?

You think you’re so strong, able to beat me at the Dragon God Conference.

If you can’t beat me, it shows you’re just of that level, don’t dream of defeating the Demon King, defeating the Hero.”

Vorquis stepped closer to Yang Yu, eyes full of battle spirit.

Seeing Vorquis trying to put a good face on it, Yang Yu felt a multitude of emotions.

Someone like Vorquis likely believes that no matter the problem, just recklessly charge forward.

Can’t solve the issue, then eliminate the person who raises it.

Straightforward.

In other words, Vorquis might not consider the consequences of killing someone, whoever wants to clean up can clean up.

After dealing with the one who raised the issue, whether the world becomes better or worse, it doesn’t concern him.

His actions are all in line with what he perceives as ”Justice.”

Plots are black or white, victory depends on attribute overpowering, which era’s RPG mindset is this?

After simple probing, Yang Yu realized, to defeat the invading Demon King, relying on this Hero was impossible.

He sighed plainly, accepting reality,

”I agree with you. If you really have the skill to encounter me at the Dragon God Conference, I am willing to compete with you.”

”Before meeting me, you absolutely must not lose. I will show you my true strength.”

After Vorquis finished speaking, he snorted and walked with determined steps, completing the check-in with his team.

Soon after, Yang Yu also reunited with Bai Jin and the others, completing their check-in.

Sitting on his bed, Yang Yu took out the list he had prepared, crudely crossed off the S mark next to the Hero, resenting his misfortune, angered by his lack of resolve.

After pondering for a while, Yang Yu wrote C beside Hero, shortly replaced it with B.

Not all Dragon God Conference participants choose to stay at the committee-provided hotel.

As long as they’re willing to risk the reckless gambler trying to determine victory outside the arena, and can arrive at the Arena on time, Dragon God Conference participants could live even in the sewers, no one would care.

Now, a woman in tight-fitting clothes with a fox mask sat cross-legged on a mountain near Makuder.

Her eyes were closed tightly, yet she could see the surroundings of the Dragon God Conference participant village.

Aslit recognized Yang Yu as the Colorful-haired Masked Man she had previously fought, but she no longer clung to the man who had humiliated her multiple times.

She always had a single target.

Now her target finally appeared in her sight.

A petite girl in a black robe, tightly holding her beloved sword in her arms, glancing around cautiously outside the hotel, stealthily went forward to complete her check-in.
