Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

Yang Yu crossed his arms and responded casually, ”Considering strategies for the upcoming matches.”

Kekarlos said with a smile, ”Oh? I didn’t expect big brother to think about such things.

In my view, big brother is very strong. None of the participants here are your match.

Big brother, you could be a strong contender for winning the Dragon God Conference.”

”That’s not necessarily true. There are many people stronger than me.” Yang Yu shook his head.

”So modest.” Kekarlos struggled to open the candy jar, took out a green candy, and handed it to Yang Yu, ”I rarely offer candy to others. Big brother, you’re special, so let me treat you this time.”

Seeing Kekarlos’s smiling face as she handed over the candy, Yang Yu declined, stating,

”I’m not a fan of sweets...

Besides, taking something from a young girl seems a bit inappropriate.

If anything, I should be the one giving you something.”

Saying this, Yang Yu retrieved a box of candy from the system and handed it to Kekarlos.

Kekarlos happily opened her arms to receive the box from Yang Yu, repeatedly thanking him, ”Thank you, big brother.

But, my grandma says eating too much candy leads to tooth decay.

I’ll take your candy and eat it slowly later.”

Yang Yu waved his hand, indicating as long as she was happy, ”Little sister, you seem strong too. Are you participating in the Dragon God Conference alone?”

Kekarlos answered straightforwardly, ”Yes. My family is busy, so I came by myself.

But don’t worry; I’m already an adult. I can handle such small matters well. This is not boasting.”

”That’s really impressive.”

Yang Yu praised her and then casually chatted with Kekarlos.

Iyas and Bai Jin, watching from the side, couldn’t help but marvel. Despite the attack just now, Yang Yu remained so calm.

If it were them, they might have shown their cards by now.

Yang Yu and Kekarlos continued chatting until the staff called Kekarlos’s number, prompting her to reluctantly stand up and say goodbye to Yang Yu.

”Big brother is very friendly. It’s about time; it’s my turn to go on stage.

I’m looking forward to seeing you in the official match.

There can only be one final winner, and I won’t hold back.”

”Neither will I.”

Yang Yu smiled as he bid farewell to Kekarlos, inwardly admiring how no disciple of the Curse Sect was simple.

Every time he acted, he felt like he deserved an Oscar.

As Kekarlos left, a long-bearded, white-haired old man suddenly appeared beside Yang Yu.

The old man was accompanied by several disciples wearing gray hats with golden edges.

At the front stood a girl with skin as smooth as a plastic film, who appeared somewhat nervous in front of strangers, her gaze falling uncertainly.

Before Yang Yu could inquire, the old man slowly began to introduce himself:

”My name is Icaro Flo. I was the Deputy Leader of the former S-Class adventure group ’Corpse Collection Coffin.’

But I’m old and can’t work anymore, so I’ve handed over the responsibilities to the younger ones.

As the leader of the new S-Class adventure group, Lord Yang Yu, can we have a brief chat?”

”What do you want to talk about?” Yang Yu replied without hesitation.

”There are many things I want to discuss. We both come from the Tren Republic.

We might run into each other often in the future, so I wanted to introduce myself.” Icaro Flo said kindly.

”Unfortunately, I have a lot of things to do and might not return to the Tren Republic for now.”

”That’s alright.”

Icaro Flo laughed, gently stroking his long, waterfall-like white beard,

”You didn’t inherit titles from anyone but established your own S-Class adventure group, showing your strength is evident.

Understanding your character allows us to make decisions boldly when we cooperate in the future.

Sometimes, even S-Class adventure groups band together.”

”What exactly do you want to say? I’ve not been an adventurer for long and don’t understand the rules well, so I can’t grasp your implied meaning.”

Icaro Flo repeatedly stroked his white beard, ”To put it briefly, we’re facing a huge crisis where we are.

You know we control an Underground Maze, right?”

Yang Yu nodded.

Icaro Flo began explaining why he sought out Yang Yu:

”To be honest, ’Corpse Collection Coffin’ is essentially a group of Tomb Guardians.

Recently, we’ve had trouble guarding our tombs.

It seems a new Underground Maze might soon be born beneath the one we guard.

That maze isn’t something ordinary people can tackle, so...

If possible, when the maze is fully formed, I’d like you to help us conquer it.”

Such an opportunity?

Yang Yu’s first reaction was skepticism, ”Aren’t there more suitable people to conquer that Underground Maze?”

Icaro Flo explained, ”Ideally, I’d like others to only conquer the extraneous maze and leave ours untouched.

Other adventure groups might be greedy and attack our Underground Maze.

You’re the most suitable choice.”

”Aren’t you afraid we’ll do the same?” Yang Yu asked.

”Of course, I fear you might do the same.

But I believe a new S-Class adventure group like yours will keep promises.

After all, you still need to establish your footing in this world.

The expectations people have for a new S-Class adventure group are high.

This actually helps us a lot,” Icaro Flo said with a smile.

”In simple terms, if I break the rules and conquer your Underground Maze too, it’ll be much harder to regain a good reputation.”

”At the very least, you’ll need to spend much more time building your personal image and travelling around.

But if you use this event to cement your rule-abiding image, your future path will be smoother.”

Yang Yu understood Icaro Flo’s thinking; other S-Class adventure groups had long become Old You Tiao, and even if they intentionally ”erred” in a situation, with their connections, they could easily brush it off. Nitpicking might even seem petty.

But Yang Yu’s group wasn’t the same, their connections akin to a blank page.

If even a slight stain marked this page, many people would avoid them from the start, viewing them through tinted glasses.

Changing those perceptions would be extremely challenging.

Conversely, handling matters well, as Icaro Flo said, could facilitate making friends with half the effort.

”I somewhat understand your idea, but I can’t agree to anything right now,” Yang Yu said.

”That’s alright. Have your magician record a little of my magic power signature. It’ll be easier to notify you if anything happens later.”

With that, Icaro Flo extended his withered hand.
