Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

It’s rare for an S-Class adventure group to take the initiative to make contact, so Yang Yu gave them some respect and face by asking Bai Jin to bring out the Magic Crystal Ball and record Icaro Flo’s magic power characteristics.

After repeatedly checking the system, the panel still didn’t show any tasks, Yang Yu said:

”You’ve said quite a bit.

I happen to have a few questions for you too.

I’ve heard you’re also looking into the Curse Sect’s information, what are you seeking them for?”

Icaro Flo stroked his waterfall-like white beard,

”We ’Corpse Collection Coffin’ are a purely Spirit Manipulator composed S-Class adventure group.

The soul is seen as a very important part of a person.

Many believe manipulating souls is a desecration of the dead, considering anyone with such abilities to be an ill omen.

Through history, Spiritual Ability Users have often been alienated, kept at a respectful distance.

Some Spiritual Ability Users weren’t as lucky as us, getting protection and guidance early.

During their growth, they suffered various harms, which twisted their minds, eventually pushing them to oppose the majority.

The Curse Sect becomes the place for most of them.

I don’t believe that suffering should make someone impose suffering on others, walking a path of vengeance against the world.

People often say, ’Don’t preach good to others without knowing their pain’... I often ponder this saying.

I don’t think this saying is correct.

Unleashing your pain on innocents will only invite more pain.

We ’Corpse Collection Coffin’ are dedicated to absorbing various Spiritual Ability Users, guiding them correctly, steering them away from extremes, letting them see the good side of life and becoming morally sound Spirit Manipulators.

Sadly, the vast majority of Spiritual Ability Users uncontrollably gravitate towards the darkness of the world.

I don’t know how they are now, if they’re in agony due to their abilities, or worse, brainwashed to be lackeys.

But if possible, we hope to lend a hand, pulling them back into the light.”

Icaro Flo sighed deeply, looked at Yang Yu,

”Your team seems to have had quite a lot of entanglements with that sect... we can align our fronts on this matter.”

Yang Yu leaned back on the bench, gazed up at the sky,

”Eradicating the Curse Sect seems very difficult, we don’t even know their stronghold.

All we know is they’re plotting some great conspiracy, attempting to summon ancient demons...

They’re in the shadows, while we’re out in the open.”

The hand stroking the beard halted abruptly, Icaro Flo nodded heavily, ”They are extremely careful, any disciple caught would rather die than spill any secrets.”

Yang Yu crossed his legs, ”Their disciples truly are exceptionally loyal, you must prepare for the possibility that even if we destroy the Curse Sect, no one can be saved.”

”We’ve long been aware of this.”

”Speaking of which, you’re Spirit Manipulators, you should have some effective methods against Spirit Manipulators?

Ideally, teach me some ways to deal with ghosts, how can that thing be sent peacefully to its rest?”

”Ghosts are more miraculous than you imagine.

To deal with a Spirit Manipulator, the best method is to find a stronger Spirit Manipulator.

As for dealing with ghosts, using magic or Holy Light works, it shouldn’t be too difficult for you.”

Saying this, Icaro Flo stood and departed, ensuring all ’Corpse Collection Coffin’ disciples had completed the preliminary contest, he prepared to take them away.

The Fish-dragon Clan girl Hualan promptly walked beside Icaro Flo, carefully escorting him away.

Yang Yu shook his head helplessly.

Where indeed could he find a clue about the Curse Sect!

Noticing Kekarlos with a trailing blue checked long robe approaching, Yang Yu re-summoned a smile and greeted Kekarlos:

”How is it, little sister, you should have breezily passed the first match, right?”

”Of course, big brother must cheer up too! I’m off now.”

After greeting Yang Yu, Kekarlos disappeared into the crowd.

Shortly thereafter, Yang Yu finally encountered the first match of the Dragon God Conference’s outer competition.

Holding a card heading towards the venue, Yang Yu could feel Bronze Dragon Owen’s intense gaze sticking to him, wishing to come over for a chat, yet due to his status, remained in place obediently.

After a simple identity assessment, Yang Yu was guided by staff into the Martial Arts Hall.

Inside the Martial Arts Hall, several spaces were already divided by dazzling crystal walls, leaving only narrow passages for two people side by side between them.

Within each space, there was an average-sized, about two meters high platform, with a red line on both north and south sides.

The red lines marked the initial duel positions for both parties.

This distance allowed both parties ample time to prepare.

If one side conceded or fell off the platform, it’s considered a victory decision.

The platform can recover at any time, and the crystal wall surrounding it can block most magic and skills, allowing both sides to fight without restraint.

Passing through the narrow walkway, many magic strikes hit the crystal wall transforming into countless shining dots beside Yang Yu, vibrant like fireworks.

Circling around, Yang Yu was led to the number 8 battle space.

Stepping onto the platform, his opponent was already warming up eagerly across the red line, waiting for long.

Yang Yu’s first opponent was a massive Yak Man named Sai Ke.

He had a human face, covered entirely with brown hair, and long hair beside his bovine ears tied into two long braids, resembling a half-standing genuine yak.

Facing Yang Yu, Sai Ke clearly held some disdain, determined to win this fight.

The Yak Man is a native subhuman in the Dragon God Evaluation Country, renowned for bravery in battle since ancient times.

Confident in his talent comparable to a genius, Sai Ke believed he hadn’t received an invitation from the Dragon God Evaluation Country partly due to the limited invitations and partly due to the Dragon God Conference Committee’s blind judgment.

Evidently, the Dragon God Conference should only be open to nationals, yet they tire themselves luring foreigners here?

Before the contest even began, Yang Yu sensed Sai Ke’s evident hostility.

”Kid, I don’t know where you came from!

But I know the Dragon God Conference isn’t for the weak like you.

If you don’t want to be shattered, surrender early.”

Facing Sai Ke’s taunt, Yang Yu silently drew his sword and shield, awaiting the referee’s announcement to start the match.

The referee stood outside the field, floating midair, raised a right hand, urging both sides to prepare.

The Yak Man Sai Ke lowered his frame, right shoulder forward, posing to crush everything, his huge black eyes fixed tightly on Yang Yu’s every move.

After drawing his shield, Yang Yu stood motionless, full of openings.

This further assured Saike that he could effortlessly resolve the battle instantly.
