Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

After checking into the inn, Yang Yu relaxed completely and didn’t train under the public eye. He took two days to rest and adjust his status in preparation for the Dragon God Conference.

After two days of rest, Yang Yu felt that he had somehow lost some experience.

Not much, it seemed only about twenty or thirty, which was insignificant compared to the over a million upgrade experiences Yang Yu usually had.

However, Yang Yu still took note of this phenomenon quietly.

After all, when Bai Jin was sick before, he also lost some experience. There might be some connection between the two.

The time moved to the day before the official competition, and a lengthy list of information appeared on each Dragon God Conference invitation card.

This included the procedure and rules of the official matches, the internal structure of the Arena, the methods for participants to enter, and various special situation handling methods.

The Dragon God Conference employs a one-on-one knockout format, and only three people can claim the Racial Essence of the giant dragon species, making the competition extremely fierce.

The matchup list would be officially announced after the opening ceremony.

To ensure the smooth proceeding of the opening ceremony, Yang Yu and Bai Jin, as participants, were required to arrive early to make preparations.

The following day, Yang Yu and his companions left early, taking the Dragon God Conference’s exclusive carriage to the Arena where the event was held.

A huge crowd had already gathered in front of the Arena, all waiting to have their tickets checked for entry.

Tens of thousands of tickets were sold out within a day of the presale launch.

Many people could not get a ticket and had to wait for information leaks about the matches.

These people would have to wait for the official release of the Memory Crystals by the Dragon God Conference to truly witness the splendor of the participants.

Participants of the Dragon God Conference didn’t have this concern.

Each participant had the right to watch every match from start to finish and could bring up to two people to enjoy this privilege together.

Of course, offering this privilege to others required an application.

Participants were required to report to the Dragon God Conference Committee the day before the conference began.

This was a rule clearly stated in black and white on the invitation card.

The Dragon God Conference had been held many times, and the rules hadn’t changed much from each session. Once you’ve understood one session, you can navigate easily through others.

The Arena hosting the Dragon God Conference had long been enveloped by a massive blue Barrier, which prevented unauthorized personnel or eager spectators from entering the Arena early.

As they entered the Barrier and approached the Arena, Yang Yu raised his hand and used the mathematical methods he had learned to estimate the size of the Arena.

This Arena was over seventy in height and was constructed from interleaved blocks of gold and white stones, with archways carved along the walls and decorated with various beautiful reliefs.

The overall style was very similar to the ancient Roman coliseum.

Several dragon-shaped sculptures surrounded the Arena, each looking lifelike, giving the Arena a solemn and majestic atmosphere.

Lowering his hand, Yang Yu looked at Lotcar, who had transformed into human form, and said:

”Lotcar, I’ll leave Iyas and He Meng in your care, remember to save our seats.”

”Leave it to me. May your martial prowess thrive,” Lotcar said, smiling as he saw Yang Yu and Bai Jin off, then led Iyas and He Meng to the inner waiting area, ready to sit in the Arena’s audience seating at any moment.

Yang Yu and Bai Jin proceeded along the special passage.

Each invitation card had its unique number, which was divided into four groups.

Each group had a different meeting point, and after showing their Dragon God Conference invitation card, Yang Yu and Bai Jin entered the Arena under staff guidance, proceeding to the third lounge.

Before Yang Yu walked into the lounge, there were already about thirty people resting there in various postures, with a man with dragon scales on his face standing in front of them.

He was also one of the Dragon God Conference staff, responsible for coordinating everything in the lounge and maintaining order.

In the center of the lounge’s ceiling were four screens projecting the Arena’s central situation in all directions.

A high platform rose from the Arena’s center, where the staff of the Dragon God Conference Committee were checking whether there were abnormalities in different parts of the platform.

Participants of the Dragon God Conference were standout young individuals from across the Continent, and their destructive power was considerable.

After one match, the platform could be knocked off by them.

To ensure that each match proceeds smoothly, the central platform was made from quite a special material, which, no matter the damage it sustained, could revert to its original form by empowering it within a certain range with magic power.

Doctors and judge-like committee members circled around the platform, nodding in approval at the good work, and personnel on the platform gradually exited, allowing the audience to formally take their seats.

The chaotic sounds gradually penetrated the lounge ceiling’s mechanism, transmitting into the lounge.

The number of participants in the lounge increased, each one more unusual than the last.

When the noise abruptly ceased, Yang Yu and his companions knew the Dragon God Conference opening ceremony was about to begin.

Staff in the lounge occasionally lowered their heads to confirm the information of each individual present, and upon confirming everyone had arrived, they nodded in satisfaction.

The Dragon God is a grand event held every ten years; being able to participate is an honor. However, not everyone with an invitation manages to arrive on time, occasionally a few are unable to reach the Dragon God Conference due to various reasons.

The draw will proceed as usual, and if one is lucky enough to be paired against absent participants, they would advance directly to the next round.

”Dear participants, the Dragon God Conference will soon begin. I believe you have been preparing for this day for a long time.

After the opening ceremony performance, we need to enter in sequence, forming four lines.

Although it’s a bit troublesome, let’s rehearse before the opening ceremony begins.”

Some participants showed obvious impatience, prompting the staff to add, ”Anyone unwilling to cooperate will have their qualification canceled immediately,” causing everyone to move quickly, arranging themselves as required within moments.

The staff were very satisfied, ”Very good, well-behaved. Now, everyone, please enjoy the Dragon God Conference’s opening ceremony.”

Yang Yu initially thought he could only wait through the tedious opening ceremony via the small screen. Unexpectedly, as soon as the staff finished speaking, everything around them seemed to vanish suddenly.

Above their heads was the clear blue sky, and the bright sunlight was a bit dazzling.

Suddenly, from behind them, came the sound of wings flapping. When they looked up, a massive giant dragon slowly flew over their heads.

Not only did a giant dragon fly from their direction, but three other giant dragons also flew into the Arena from different directions, roaring and circling in the sky.

With every flap of their wings, countless golden rays of light poured down from the sky.

Yang Yu reached up and caught a ray of golden light, which transformed into a Gold Coin engraved with a giant dragon pattern in his hand.
