Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

This time, Wind Snatching was the first to step onto the battle stage.

He crossed his arms, a faint blue light flashing in his eyes, following Vorquis with his gaze and sizing him up.

To become the Clan Leader of the Wind Wolf Clan, discerning the strength and weaknesses of others is a basic quality.

Wind Snatching could see that Vorquis was very strong, his abilities were likely on par with or perhaps slightly superior to his own.

This battle was destined to be a tough fight.

Vorquis strode boldly towards Wind Snatching, exhibiting a degree of contempt towards him in his demeanor.

In Vorquis’s view, Yang Yu was his true nemesis, a hurdle he must cross.

The protagonist in a story will not lose to the same enemy twice, and with each defeated opponent, he gains more strength.

Any enemies appearing before the battle with his nemesis are just stepping stones that can be easily kicked aside.

”It’s been a long time since I’ve seen an enemy, facing me, who can still smile like this.” Wind Snatching released his crossed arms, flexing his finger joints, ”I hope you won’t let me down.”

Vorquis lifted his chin, unwilling to be outdone, ”You better not disappoint me, I’d like to see how many moves you can take from me.”

Wind Snatching no longer responded to Vorquis’s words, simply shaking his hands and assuming a stance. A breeze rose from nowhere, making his sleek fur dance in the air.

”Both sides, take your positions!”

The referee raised his hand. Vorquis drew from his sheath a sword that seemed rather humble for the Dragon God Conference. A cyan vortex appeared on Wind Snatching’s shoulder, swirling around his body.

”Begin!”

With the referee’s command, the two on the arena started moving.

”[Multiple Sharpness]

[Rapid Wind]

[Klarotis’ Blessing]....”

Vorquis flashed with light after light, continuously enhancing himself, all the while keeping his gaze locked on Wind Snatching’s every move.

Unleashing his sharp claws, Wind Snatching took steady steps closer to Vorquis, with each step, another vortex appeared on his body.

In no time at all, nine vortices surrounded Wind Snatching.

Suddenly, a blue light burst from Wind Snatching’s eyes, and in the blink of an eye, his figure vanished.

The next moment, like a thunderbolt, he reappeared in front of Vorquis, his massive wolf claws lunging towards Vorquis’s head.

Vorquis reacted in time, dodging narrowly to avoid the attack, simultaneously stopping the buffs on himself and casting a convenient Magic Shield.

Just as Vorquis was about to swing his sword, a sharp howl emitted from Wind Snatching’s mouth, and from Vorquis’s perspective it felt like he was facing a typhoon, slowing his sword swing considerably.

Wind Snatching’s giant claw lashed down, ”crack” and the shield Vorquis had conjured was shattered by Wind Snatching as if it were just a bubble.

The shield, which could normally withstand one or two Skills, shattered so easily.

Changing the direction of his sword, Vorquis attempted to block the incoming claws of Wind Snatching, but one of the vortices around Wind Snatching caused Vorquis’s body to lean towards him.

In the next moment, a massive fist pounded into Vorquis’s stomach.

Vorquis was instantly knocked off his feet, rolling uncontrollably, seemingly about to fall off the battle stage.

Struggling to cast Ice Magic on his sword, Vorquis formed a thick ice block on the blade, wedging it in place to stop his fall, holding onto the blade to prevent himself from falling off the stage.

Vorquis was full of disbelief, but more than disbelief, he was worried and fearful.

If he were blasted out of the arena in one strike, he would truly be humiliated in front of everyone.

Even if he announced his Hero identity later, he would surely face endless doubt.

He had to stand up, then use his overwhelming strength to defeat his opponent.

As long as he persisted, things would surely take a turn.

More unbelievable than Vorquis was Wind Snatching.

He repeatedly opened and closed the hand that had hit Vorquis, confirming the feel from before, unable to believe his first attack hit so easily.

”It shouldn’t be like this... shouldn’t be...” Wind Snatching murmured to himself.

Someone with such comparable aura should have, like himself, undergone countless chaotic scenes, his attack shouldn’t have hit so easily.

Wind Snatching didn’t expect Vorquis to completely defend himself at the end, at least block one or two moves, and if nothing else, adjust his posture while flying, so he doesn’t look so embarrassed.

The faint blue light disappeared from Wind Snatching’s eyes, his gaze coldly fixed on Vorquis,

”Get up! Show me your true strength. This is the Dragon God Conference; everyone here should only have one purpose for participating.

I don’t know what binds you, but you didn’t give up, you didn’t let yourself fall.

This shows that you still have the will to win.

Get up!”

Vorquis propped up his body with his sword, light flickering across him, his gaze extraordinarily determined,

”I would have done so without you saying it. It was purely a mistake earlier, facing powerful enemies, falling into a desperate situation, then turning the tide at the last moment, that’s the standard protagonist. I will unleash my full strength to crush you in one blow!”

Wind Snatching lowered his hand, standing still,

”Then come at me, show me just how much strength you truly possess.”

Heroic Warrior Volcrix unhesitatingly cast skills, a spectacle of light unfurling around him.

Determined to defeat his opponent in the most suave manner, Vorquis had put in plenty of effort, trying numerous skill combinations and testing their powers.

What he wielded now was the most powerful and splendid skillset.

Pale blue ice butterflies danced beside Vorquis, at his feet it was as if countless flowers bloomed, a golden light slid from the sword’s edge to the hilt, like a golden meteor leaving a beautiful trail.

Vorquis gathered strength in his legs, swinging his sword horizontally like an elegant dancer, stepping with gentle strides yet exploding with unbelievable speed, in the blink of an eye, Vorquis was right in front of Wind Snatching, the gleaming golden streaked sword aiming for Wind Snatching’s head.

Wind Snatching stepped back, evading Vorquis’s first slash, Vorquis steadied himself, swinging once, twice, thrice, but every strike of Heroic Warrior Volcrix was perfectly dodged by Wind Snatching.

Vorquis tried using some auxiliary skills to hit his target, but Wind Snatching evaded them all.

The more he observed Vorquis’s moves, the more frustrated Wind Snatching became.

”Clack—”

As Vorquis’s sword came slashing down again, Wind Snatching no longer avoided, raising his hand, revealing sharp claws, he caught the Hero’s swinging sword edge.

Wind Snatching’s gaze fixed unblinkingly on Vorquis, coldly questioning:

”Is this all of your strength?”
