Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

Without receiving any particularly meaningful information, Yang Yu asked Luo the last question: Where did the other members of the ”Red Blood Rose” go?

Luo honestly explained the situation of the rest of ”Red Blood Rose” to Yang Yu. Besides Chel Belli staying home, Gordon and Sister Ajing had arrived at the Dragon God Evaluation Country.

Nevertheless, as soon as Gordon, who was a contestant, arrived here, he was immediately captivated by the various trinkets on Makuder Street. Sister Ajing had no choice but to follow him around to keep an eye on him.

Ultimately, the entire check-in process was left to Sena alone.

Fortunately, ”Red Blood Rose” is an S-class adventure group, well-known to everyone. As long as they present the invitation to the Dragon God Conference, it’s not difficult to complete the registration.

Luo truly hoped that Gordon, as the leader of the S-class adventure group, could be more reliable, distinguish priorities, and handle necessary tasks before indulging in those little toys.

”Although I always knew you had the potential to become an S-class adventure group, I really didn’t expect you would become one so quickly.”

Luo sighed while returning to Sena’s side.

Yang Yu followed, ready to officially check in.

But before Yang Yu and Bai Jin could formally reunite, he encountered another familiar face.

The newcomer was a handsome young man, dressed in light armor suitable for movement, adorned with blue and white engravings, exuding an ancient and profound aura. His long golden hair, tied into a braid, cascaded over a wide red cloak, displaying exceptional presence.

The only mismatch with the youth was the ordinary longsword at his waist.

The sheath of the longsword, where it connected to his waist, was polished bright from wear. The patterns on the sheath showed severe wear at the connecting point.

The hilt of the sword was extremely smooth, suggesting it had been gripped many times, showcasing a sense of age.

Weapons are said to be a warrior’s second life.

The youth’s luxurious equipment compared to his dilapidated weapon seemed like a joke risking his life.

Yang Yu roughly estimated that the weapon’s quality was only rare, and slightly below average.

The weapon must have changed hands many times and gradually, no one bothered to take good care of the longsword.

While probably usable, its quality was worrying.

Did Hero Volcrix store all his good equipment in the system?

Or is it that the dignified Hero can’t even get a decent weapon?

Or is this a method of his training?

Opening the system panel, Yang Yu took a look at Hero Volcrix’s attributes.

The growth of a Hero, as always, is quite exaggerated.

Yang Yu didn’t know how the Hero allocated his points, but judging by his current growth, at his current level, his attributes would definitely double at the very least.

As Yang Yu reviewed the Hero’s attributes, Hero Volcrix also reviewed Yang Yu’s attributes.

Hero Volcrix was shocked when he saw Yang Yu’s attributes.

During their first duel at the All Things Library, Yang Yu was only around level forty, just a dozen levels apart from Volcrix. How did he manage to jump over a hundred levels in just over two years, creating a gap of over sixty levels?

Could it be that during their encounter at the Library, Yang Yu was deliberately hiding his true strength?

If he truly was concealing his strength, how do you explain what he did afterward?

Volcrix still remembered, after Yang Yu beat him at the Library Conference, he immediately forfeited as if he appeared just to defeat him.

If his purpose was truly just to beat Volcrix, why bother hiding his strength at all?

Hero Volcrix had many things he couldn’t understand, but perhaps it’s better to leave them be.

What mattered was that Yang Yu once shamed him and even gave his adventure group such an outrageous name.

Whether intentional or not, Volcrix couldn’t swallow this resentment.

Before Volcrix could organize his thoughts, some words involuntarily slipped from his mouth:

”Naming your adventure group like that, you’re really arrogant. Do you really think you have the power to defeat the Demon King and Hero? It’s utterly laughable.”

Yang Yu’s level was quite high, but his attributes were similar to Volcrix’s.

Volcrix believed this was Yang Yu’s limit; mediocrity will always be mediocrity. If Volcrix reached Yang Yu’s level, he could effortlessly crush him.

Hero Volcrix felt no regret for his words, thinking he might have phrased it more tactfully. Instead, he gazed at Yang Yu with a touch of disdain.

When Yang Yu was the colorful-haired masked man, Volcrix was still respectful towards him.

Volcrix thought a series of setbacks would somewhat alter the Hero’s character... But...

Yang Yu glanced at the three companions behind Volcrix; they had a level difference of twenty or so compared to Volcrix, with average attributes below a thousand.

As levels rise, the level gap between companions should narrow.

When Yang Yu was in his eighties, Bai Jin and his others were also in their eighties, and at one point Bai Jin’s level even surpassed Yang Yu’s.

But with Hero Volcrix, he was so far ahead of his teammates without any sign of establishing a trusting relationship with them.

Establishing trust allows for allocating free attribute points, yet his teammates’ attributes were still so low.

Yang Yu knew his words as the colorful-haired masked man seemed utterly ignored by the prideful Hero.

An unpleasant feeling surged within, as Yang Yu stared at Volcrix, coldly saying:

”What about you? Do you think you have the power to defeat the Demon King or Hero?”

Volcrix answered without any hesitation: ”I’m confident I can defeat the Demon King. As for the Hero... I am evenly matched with him.”
