Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

Yang Yu did not refuse Icaro Flo’s proposal.

His adventure group is a newly established S-Class adventure group; in terms of connections, it indeed can’t compare to the established S-Class groups with hundreds of years of history.

Instead of risking running around collecting intelligence from informants, it’s more efficient to entrust the entire search to [Corpse Collection Coffin].

Moli’s soul has already shattered, and it’s impossible to obtain any more intelligence.

With Bai Jin’s help, Yang Yu removed all the legendary equipment from Moli’s body as his spoils.

As for Moli’s body, under the supervision of Icaro Flo, Yang Yu and his team cremated her thoroughly, to show respect for the deceased.

Thus, the dwarven kidnapping incident came to an end.

[Corpse Collection Coffin] and [Island Drifting] along with others, each left the scene.

For a long time afterward, Yang Yu did not encounter them again.

Yang Yu did not intentionally search for them but continued to prepare for the Dragon God Conference with Bai Jin.

As the Dragon God Conference approached, more and more outsiders could be seen on the streets of Makuder.

The local prices started skyrocketing like a rocket.

Along with the prices, the intelligence in the hands of informants also surged.

The official games had not yet begun, but the participant list of this year’s Dragon God Conference was already circulating in the black market.

Some underground bookmakers even opened bets based on that list.

Yang Yu also acquired a copy of the list from the black market, with many familiar names like Gordon from [Red Blood Rose], Blood Lion Wan Ze, Tico from All Things Library... these were all popular seed candidates.

After searching through the list, Yang Yu finally found Heroic Warrior Volcrix’s name at the bottom right corner of the list.

The Dragon God Conference will have tens of thousands of people watching simultaneously.

The contestants also have the right to watch other matches from the audience seats, to gather enemy intelligence.

How to conceal one’s strength against opponents far inferior to oneself, to achieve a surprise victory in later matches, is undoubtedly a challenge for high-quality contestants.

It is also one of the highlights for the audience.

Even before the Dragon God Conference began, the eager audience was already ready to shout ”Holy crap.”

Apart from collecting information on other contestants, Yang Yu also deliberately hid his identity and purchased information about himself and Bai Jin.

As the saying goes, ”Know yourself and know your enemy, and you will never be defeated in a hundred battles.”

Knowing how much of his information has been leaked allows for easier adjustments to subsequent strategies.

Fortunately, not much of his and Bai Jin’s information has been leaked, mostly just about easily advancing through the preliminaries; their origins, preferred skills, and strategies have not shown signs of exposure.

After over 20 days of hard work, and as the intelligence in the hands of informants grew richer, Yang Yu finally gained a preliminary understanding of all his opponents.

He categorized them into C, B, A, S, four levels.

C is for ordinary opponents, B are opponents not to be underestimated, A are ones to be cautious of, and S requires special attention.

Yang Yu wasn’t sure of Heroic Warrior Volcrix’s current situation and couldn’t see him in the town.

Given the warrior’s growth rate and attributes, Yang Yu tentatively placed the hero at the S level.

The days passed one by one.

With only three days left until the opening of the Dragon God Conference, the Dragon God Conference Committee finally opened the inns specially for contestants to rest.

Any contestant can bring their partners and check in with an invitation letter.

The dragon will ensure the safety of every contestant in that area, and any form of fight is prohibited there.

Ensuring absolute security, Yang Yu did not hesitate to prepare for check-in.

Before checking in to that area, Yang Yu found Brian Redbeard.

As Brian Redbeard promised, he indeed forged an epic piece of equipment.

”Luck was on my side, in addition to an epic piece of equipment, I also forged a rare longsword close to epic quality.

The epic equipment is a shield, which I named [Shadow Blue Shattered Ice].”

Brian Redbeard handed Yang Yu a shield about the size of the one he usually uses; this shield, entirely blue and white, looked as if it had suffered a heavy blow and shattered like ice.

[Shadow Blue Shattered Ice

Quality: Epic

Defense +200, Max HP +10%, Special Defense +200, Damage Reduction +5%

Passive Effect [Frost Formation]: When hit by a magic attack, it converts magic power into ice crystals stored in the shield’s gaps, able to withstand up to 5000 magic damage (0/5000)

Active Skill [Extreme Cold Shock]: Releases the stored magic in the shield’s gaps to counterattack enemies in front, consuming the [Frost Formation] charge.

Not to mention its effects, just looking at the stats, [Shadow Blue Shattered Ice] is already a very decent shield, and coupled with its effects, it’s undoubtedly practical.

Moreover, it is lightweight, half the weight of the shield Yang Yu usually uses.

Such equipment, Yang Yu couldn’t put it down, he even thought that having this shield was already worth the effort.

”Pretty good, I really like it.”

The benefit of customized equipment is that you get exactly the kind of equipment you want.

Yang Yu usually has bad luck and often doesn’t get the equipment he wants, so customized equipment is his lifeline.

Most of the time, Yang Yu also uses customized equipment to clear challenges.

This shield, Yang Yu felt, could be used until defeating the Demon Queen.

”I’ve been on a roll lately; I’m going to start forging those two stones you gave me.

I need to spend some time researching and understanding their properties during forging.

If you have any requirements for the equipment I’m going to forge next, just let me know; I’ll do my best to fulfill them.” Brian Redbeard blew a confident breath through his nose.

Yang Yu smiled and said: ”Just make it the best you can.

Don’t notify me if anything comes up; my partner and I will be staying in the inn provided by the Dragon God Conference Committee and won’t come out for a while.”

Shouldering the forging hammer, Brian wiped his nose with his thumb,

”Dragon God Conference, do your best, I don’t want to see you too soon. If you exit the stage before my equipment is done, that would be really awkward.”

With that, Brian Redbeard strode steadily back to his blacksmith shop, and soon the sound of hammering rang out once more.

Packing the equipment carefully, Yang Yu went to the street to buy some supplies, then went to register at the inn provided by the Dragon God Conference.

The inn provided by the Dragon God Conference is also protected by a special barrier, and entry and exit are only allowed through four personally guarded passages.

It’s not far from the arena where the Dragon God Conference is held, and many contestants could be seen registering and preparing to check in.

Among the crowd, Yang Yu spotted a girl carrying a parasol, accompanied by a small cat and a small snake...
