Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

Yang Yu didn’t expect to run into an acquaintance as soon as he reached the registration point.

The girl holding a parasol was none other than Sena from the S-Class adventure group, Red Blood Rose.

When rescuing Iyas’ younger brother, Yang Yu had received a lot of care from the Red Blood Rose, leaving a deep impression of each of their members on him.

Yang Yu’s gaze first swept over Sena’s back and finally landed on the Nine-Life Cat Demon beside her.

The true habitat of the Nine-Life Cat Demon is not in this world.

Only a very few Nine-Life Cat Demons leave their true habitat and arrive in this world.

Some of them live like ordinary demons and only truly awaken wisdom after losing several lives.

The power of the Nine-Life Cat Demon is indispensable for interpreting the ancient texts left by Hero Lox.

Currently, the only way for Yang Yu to get closer to the truth is through Luo, who is summoned by Sena.

Other Nine-Life Cat Demons are nowhere to be found by Yang Yu!

Luo shivered, feeling a chill all over and a bad premonition. When it looked back, Yang Yu’s intensely heated gaze almost burned its eyes, scaring it into a timid cat’s meow.

Sena, having just finished her check-in procedures, heard this meow and instinctively glanced at Luo, then followed Luo’s gaze to see Yang Yu.

Seeing the large Silver Wolf behind Yang Yu, Sena’s star-patterned eyes brightened instantly.

Withdrawing his fervent gaze, Yang Yu raised his hand to greet Sena:

”Long time no see, Miss Sena. I wonder if you still remember us?”

Sena withdrew her gaze from Lotcar and flashed a sweet smile, ”I won’t forget any monster tamer and his partner I’ve encountered.”

”As always, you’re exceptionally interested in matters concerning demons.”

”I want to create a world where humans and demons can coexist in peace, and the person who comes closest to this goal is naturally a monster tamer. I think I’ve said something similar before, haven’t I?”

While speaking, Sena’s gaze slid from Yang Yu to Lotcar, searching around for something.

After an unsuccessful search, Sena asked:

”It’s been two years since we parted, and I want to see if you’ve been lazy or have properly taught your demon.

Could you let me see the condition of your demon?

First, let me see He Meng.

I’m seeing someone raising a Royal Slime for the first time, and I’m looking forward to seeing its potential.

After searching for a while, where has that little one hidden?

You haven’t abandoned her halfway or let her die, have you?

If that’s the case, then it would be a dereliction of duty as a monster tamer.”

Yang Yu gave a crooked smile, ”He Meng is no cute little creature. Under my meticulous guidance, she has long since changed, almost reaching the level of a perfect being.

I even believe that if she can survive and keep devouring, she will surely claim the Demon King’s position in the future.”

”Is she really that powerful? I’m more eager to see her current form more and more.”

”Don’t rush,”

Yang Yu gestured Sena to step aside for a private chat. Without suspicion, Sena went aside and started whispering with Yang Yu.

”He Meng is inside the hood of the White Mallow Robe.

You can have a look and even touch her if you like.

Of course, there’s a condition.

There are things I’d slightly like to chat about with the Nine-Life Cat Demon as well.

As long as you agree to swap our demons temporarily, you’ll have plenty of time to check the condition of my demons and determine whether I’ve taken good care of them.

Meanwhile, I can gain the knowledge I desire from the Nine-Life Cat Demon.

It’s a perfect arrangement.”

”Deal.”

Without a second thought, Sena agreed to Yang Yu’s request, turned around, picked up Luo, whose chill hadn’t yet been dispelled, and placed it in Yang Yu’s arms.

Luo, full of question marks, tried to struggle, but Yang Yu grabbed it by the fur on its neck, holding it down firmly.

Looking up, Luo could only see Yang Yu’s creepy smile, sending shivers down its spine again.

”Sena, what were you talking to him about just now? Wait, don’t leave me alone with him, I have a bad feeling about this...”

No matter how much Luo cried out, it’s as if Sena didn’t hear, and she walked briskly, taking three steps in two, to Lotcar’s side, reaching out to stroke Lotcar’s fluffy mane without any reservations, burying her face in it.

Lotcar stood there, bewildered.

The Silver Teeth Clan is very special, leaning more towards the beastmen side of subhumans rather than demons, but at this point, Lotcar couldn’t bring himself to voice this fact and just let Sena nestle her face into the fluffy mane.

Fortunately, after cuddling for a bit, Sena lifted her head, moved to Bai Jin’s side, gently tugged on the corner of the hood of the White Mallow Robe, and peeked at He Meng through the gap.

Though He Meng was nested in Bai Jin’s hood, she was not entirely slacking off, but rather digesting the knowledge acquired from the All Things Library.

The world is full of strange things; even with her photographic memory, He Meng can’t guarantee to recall and apply what she learned immediately when needed.

How to organize this knowledge and cleverly combine it in times of crisis is key to He Meng’s future growth.

After the last battle, He Meng believed the direction Yang Yu provided was indeed effective.

Nonetheless, the knowledge previously absorbed by He Meng was too vast, not something that could be fully comprehended in a short time.

It’s estimated that only after the Dragon God Conference ends, she could barely fully grasp the knowledge once.

He Meng dare says she’s the most knowledgeable Slime in the world.

While nestled in Bai Jin’s hood, He Meng was pondering a significant issue, but once sunlight hit her from outside, her train of thought vanished.

Furiously, she leaped out from Bai Jin’s hood, transformed into a human form while spinning in the air, but before she could complain, Sena swiftly embraced her, caressing her infatuatedly,

”You really can do that. Didn’t I say? Turning into such an adorable girl, Slime is truly amazing. What else can you transform into? Can you show me?”

He Meng intended to refuse, but Sena’s gentle technique easily softened her, leading her to accept Sena’s request.

In the domain of demons, Sena is an expert.

Elsewhere, Yang Yu picked up Luo, found a secluded corner, and started probing for information.

Unfortunately, Luo is just a Nine-Life Cat Demon who had died five times; during her fourth death, she met Sena and inadvertently became Sena’s demon.

Faced with Yang Yu’s barrage of questions, Luo could answer hardly any, only providing some vague answers, deeply disappointing Yang Yu.

Luo gazed at Yang Yu with lizard-like pupils:

”I can’t help it. What I don’t know, I don’t know.

Don’t ever tell me ’go die for these answers,’ because that would make me look down on you.”

”Really, what do you take me for?”

Such unconventional methods, of course, are for last resorts only.
