Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

Vorquis followed Yang Yu through the sparsely populated streets to the Martial Arts Hall, paid the usage fee, and completed a simple registration.

Under the guidance of staff, the two of them entered the interior of the Martial Arts Hall.

The facilities of the Dragon God Conference had been dismantled, leaving the Martial Arts Hall empty, with only a few arenas available for duels.

These arenas were far from the perfect fit of the Dragon God Conference, but their basic functions remained, allowing the fight to have minimal impact on the outside world, letting both sides give it their all.

Three staff members activated the barrier, forming crystal walls around the arena.

Yang Yu was the first to pass through the crystal wall, steadily walking onto the arena, gesturing for Vorquis to follow.

On the way, Vorquis kept looking at Yang Yu’s back, completely unsure of what this man was thinking, but he still took big strides onto the arena.

Vorquis tried to draw his sword, but suddenly remembered that his sword had been broken and couldn’t be used anymore.

Just as he was about to rummage through the system for a suitable weapon, Yang Yu took out a sword and tossed it to him,

”Just make do with this sword.”

Vorquis hurriedly caught the sword, drew it from its sheath, and a sharp gleam flashed before his eyes.

This sword wasn’t as sharp as the one he had pawned, but it was almost as good.

Vorquis couldn’t believe it; Yang Yu actually gave him such a good weapon to use:

”Giving me such a good weapon, you’ll definitely regret it.”

”Don’t get it wrong.

Let me make it clear, this sword is not yours, just lending it to you temporarily.

Coming to the Dragon God Conference without even a decent sword is really laughable.

I remember you had a good sword, where did it go?”

Faced with Yang Yu’s inquiry, Vorquis found it hard to speak.

Yang Yu mercilessly exposed Vorquis,

”You don’t say, but I can probably guess.

Having sold your means of making money, you’re in quite a predicament.

But…

You couldn’t make money even with your money-making tool…

That surprises me even more.”

”Enough! I have my own ideas, sometimes I have to help out the poor and buy some stuff! It’s normal to be running a deficit.” Vorquis raised his head to glare at Yang Yu, gradually approaching him, ”I may have lost to that guy, but someone like you, I can handle with ease.”

”With ease? That’s my line.”

Yang Yu took out a ruler-length twig from the system, pointing it at Vorquis, ”Come at me then.”

Looking at the twig in Yang Yu’s hand, Vorquis’s expression darkened, ”You’re not going to use that thing to fight me, are you?”

Yang Yu looked disdainful: ”What else? The opponent’s too weak, I can only add some difficulty for myself. To deal with you, just a twig is enough!”

Yang Yu’s arrogant words were like a hammer hitting Vorquis’s fragile mental defenses.

What was harder for Vorquis to accept was the conditions Yang Yu set for the victory.

”Let’s do it this way, I’m too lazy to use skills anyway.

I’ll hit you a hundred times with this twig, and you just have to hit me once... no, forget that...

Yang Yu held up three fingers,

”Three times.

No matter what method you use, as long as you touch me three times, you win.

If you win, I don’t mind giving you the sword.”

”Underestimating people has to have some limits!”

Vorquis gritted his teeth, trembling with anger, his voice shaking along with him, and Yang Yu was a little worried Vorquis might bite his tongue.

Idly swinging the twig, flicking its green leaves, Yang Yu casually said:

”I’m not underestimating you.

It’s just that you’re only to this extent.

I can use all my strength, without needing skills, just a twig to defeat you.

Attack me!

I still want to go back to watch the competition.

Finish this quickly, so I can go back sooner.”

”You, you...!” Vorquis’s chest heaved continually, trying hard to calm down, taking a few rough breaths, he barely maintained his composure, threatening, ”You... don’t regret it!”

Clutching the sharp longsword, Vorquis assumed an attacking stance, applying enhancement skills.

”[Fierce Flame Drawing Sword]”

A crimson magic power crept up Vorquis’s longsword, igniting the entire blade.

[Fierce Flame Drawing Sword] is a skill that adds a flame attack to one’s sword blade, the intensity of which depends on the user’s intelligence and strength, extremely powerful.

Unfortunately, the casting time for this skill is a bit long.

In the two or three seconds before Vorquis could finish casting his skill, Yang Yu rushed to Vorquis’s face, whipping the thin twig at Vorquis’s head.

Unable to dodge, Vorquis was struck in the face by Yang Yu’s twig.

Vorquis only felt his brow arch burning hot, he swung his sword to drive Yang Yu away, but didn’t land a single hit on him.

Immediately afterward, Vorquis’s hand, back, waist, knee… and other places were struck by Yang Yu’s attacks.

Vorquis unleashed his magic power; Yang Yu retreated a few steps to avoid being hit by Vorquis’s outburst of magic power.

Pinching his brow arch, looking through the gaps between his fingers, Vorquis glared viciously at Yang Yu: ”You really are despicable!”

”The enemy won’t wait for you to be ready before sending you to your death.”

With that, Yang Yu launched another attack.

Vorquis lifted his sword blade to block, yet Yang Yu ghostly slipped past Vorquis’s sword blade.

Ten blows from the twig struck different parts of Vorquis, each inflicting only minor damage.

The damage was low, but the insult was tremendous.

Casually distancing himself from Vorquis, Yang Yu showed utter contempt:

”No defense? Moving so slowly, you’d be easily killed for credit on a real battlefield.”

Vorquis was about to reply when Yang Yu approached again, delivering another round of attacks onto Vorquis.

Yang Yu would hit a wave and then run, Vorquis angrily raised his sword, releasing a skill, the sword blade swiftly crossing left and right, forming an X-shaped slash.

Yang Yu deliberately slowed down, sidestepping to barely graze Vorquis’s attack, then slowly walked towards Vorquis.

Vorquis used several more skills in succession, but they were all easily evaded by Yang Yu.

Yang Yu remembered the characteristics and cooldowns of most common skills, the skills Vorquis used were not obscure, and the starting movements were extremely obvious, guessing and dodging his skill attempts was truly too simple.

But that didn’t mean Yang Yu was complacent, on the contrary, Yang Yu was more focused than ever.

Not being able to use skills meant Yang Yu had zero room for error.

No matter how slim the possibility, Yang Yu absolutely didn’t want to lose now.
