The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 988: Chapter 988: One More Arrogant Than the Next!

”Elliot, you...” Ivy Wilmar’s hand hesitated on his shoulder, debating whether to bring up that matter.

Suddenly, a familiar figure appeared in the hospital corridor. Ivy Wilmar caught sight of the newcomer out of the corner of her eye. She paused for a second, seemingly taken aback that the person had the audacity to show up so brazenly, and blurted out in reflexive astonishment, ”Nathalie Quinlan?”

”Ms. Quinlan, Ghania Quinlan’s ward is in 3303.” At that moment, Alfred Garland was jogging over to inform the girl of the room number he had found.

”Right, thanks.” The girl raised her hand, pulled the brim of her hat, and hid the coolness in her eyes, looking as if nothing was amiss.

”Thanks for what.” Alfred Garland glanced over at the man and said anxiously, ”Ms. Quinlan, do you want me to accompany you inside later on?”

”No need, I want to handle this myself.” Nathalie Quinlan’s delicate brows and eyes carried a frivolous air, and her tone sounded very calm.

Alfred Garland couldn’t judge whether she was affected by the things Online or not. He turned to look towards Amadeus Yancey’s direction, saw that the man was silent, pursed his lips, and followed beside the girl, heading together towards the 3303 ward. From afar, they could see two people standing at the door of the ward.

One was Myles Sullivan, the other was Ivy Wilmar.

Among them, Ivy Wilmar seemed to have noticed them and was pointing towards them while talking.

Myles Sullivan also looked in their direction after a while, his eyes were gloomily dark. Even at that distance, one could discern the anger on the man’s face.

Yet Nathalie Quinlan acted as if she hadn’t seen them, striding past with confidence. It seemed she was about to bypass Myles Sullivan and Ivy Wilmar without a word. Unable to Tolerate it any longer, Myles Sullivan suppressed his annoyance and questioned darkly, ”Nathalie Quinlan, it was you, wasn’t it?”

The girl didn’t even bother with him, or rather, didn’t even give him a glance, and continued walking into the ward.

Myles Sullivan in Beijing was a figure whose word was law. In his irritation, he subconsciously wanted to stop the person.

”It was you who had the Car stopped; it was you who sent Ghania to the hospital; you...” His words were thoughtless, nearly spilling out in a curse.

Before he could finish, his arm was abruptly grabbed by a powerful hand. Myles Sullivan’s face softened slightly, and as he turned his head, he met the man’s eyes that held a mocking smile.

”Mr. Sullivan, at your age, it’s best not to get too excited.”

With just those words, it was as if they had choked Myles Sullivan’s throat. His face turned red all at once, meeting those young and unfathomably deep eyes. He didn’t dare say a word and watched helplessly as Nathalie Quinlan passed by them, heading to Ward 3303 with swagger and pushing the door open.

This feeling... Myles Sullivan couldn’t describe.

It was like having a stone pressed down atop his head which he thought he could crush with ease only to find out he was the one being crushed all along!

*

The white hospital room was very quiet.

Sunlight streamed in from outside the window, the breeze lifting the white curtains at the edge. If not for the IV drip slowly depositing drop by drop through the slender plastic tube, on entering abruptly, it seemed like a different world separated from the outside.

Ghania Quinlan lay quietly on the hospital bed, her eyes closed, covered with a blanket; only her arm, from which the drip hung, was exposed, making her appear to be sleeping.

Nathalie Quinlan noticed her slightly swollen eyelids at a glance. Without uttering a word, she walked over, dragged a chair with one hand, and pulled it up beside Ghania Quinlan’s bed to Sit down.

One hand resting on the edge of the bed, fingertips gently tapping.

”1.”

”2.”

The girl’s Voice was casual, slightly hoarse, carrying a wild and bold tone. She sat at the head of the bed, casually counting.
