The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 970: Chapter 970: Does Ms. Quinlan Want to Go Up?

He did this for Nathalie Quinlan’s sake.

After all, Beijing’s social scene is a mix of the good and bad, and there are always a few who don’t bring their brains out with them.

Jethro Yapiter got to this point and really wanted to see Nathalie Quinlan make a speech on stage and the reaction of Sherly Iversen and her clique. Full of anticipation, he looked at the girl, forcefully holding back his eagerness as he persuaded, ”You don’t need to speak, just show your face on stage, that’s all.”

Nathalie Quinlan was still in the same seated posture from before, leaning casually in her seat, hat brim pressed down, with a game she was playing on her phone that had just ended. The game’s over sound effect echoed, she placed her phone aside, lifted her head, and locked eyes with Jethro Yapiter’s hopeful gaze, pausing for a second.

Just as Jethro Yapiter thought she might agree.

Nathalie Quinlan lowered her eyelashes again, her crow-black lashes concealing her eyes. She closed the finished game and started a new one, her voice faintly rejecting him, ”No thanks.”

”Ms. Quinlan, you just need to go up with the other designers to give thanks at the end of the big show; you don’t have to speak...”

Nathalie Quinlan had just started a new game, pressed pause, and lifted her head again. Her cold, sharp jawline was smooth and pretty. With the lift of an eyebrow, she exuded a chill charisma.

”I don’t want to go.”

”If the other designers knew that you’d be willing to join them on stage, they would be overjoyed,” Jethro Yapiter persisted, ”Are you trying to keep it a secret that you’re SEVEN’s lead designer ’S’? If you don’t want people to know, I can arrange for them not to introduce you during that part. You just need to make a brief appearance on the stage...”

If Nathalie Quinlan was willing to make a brief appearance on stage, it would be enough to slap Sherly Iversen and the others in the face.

After all, not just anyone can be a designer for SEVEN!

”Do I have to go?” Nathalie Quinlan asked with a hint of annoyance in her eyes, but her attitude towards Jethro Yapiter was decent, at least there were no signs of impatience.

She paused, then added, ”I don’t really like crowded places. I’m here today to accompany my elders; otherwise, I wouldn’t have come.”

Jethro Yapiter had been quite hopeful that she’d appear on stage to put Sherly Iversen and those who talked behind her back in their place. But upon hearing her, he wavered internally.

He knew exactly what kind of person Nathalie Quinlan was, having worked with Silvania Ingram for so long!

She really was like she said, not fond of crowded, noisy places, nor did she like to stand out in such settings.

Jethro Yapiter’s internal struggle and hesitation were brief before he made up his mind, his tense shoulders relaxed, he smiled slightly, and said softly, ”No, you don’t have to go up, it’s just that I saw Ms. Quinlan was here. If you don’t want to, that’s fine too.”

Before Nathalie Quinlan could respond, he continued with a gentle demeanor, ”By the way, Ms. Quinlan, Mr. Ingram is backstage, do you want to meet her?”

Nathalie Quinlan glimpsed from the corner of her eye Candice Yancey entering and shook her head, succinctly put, ”Mrs. Ingram must be very busy today, let’s leave it for next time.”

”Mm.” Silvania Ingram was indeed too busy to stand still at the moment. Jethro Yapiter did not insist and nodded slightly, ”Then I’ll give Mr. Ingram a message later.”

”Mhm.” Nathalie Quinlan saw Candice Yancey coming over, raised her eyes, looking at him with her clear, pure eyes, she said, ”My elder is back.”

Jethro Yapiter had been curious to know who this ’one elder’ was that could make such a big shot come out to attend the show with her. Turning his head, he saw only Ms. Yancey from the Yancey Family but no one else.

He wasn’t sure if Nathalie Quinlan’s referred elder was Candice Yancey, but from their earlier conversation, it was clear Nathalie Quinlan didn’t want to broadcast her identity today, so he turned back around and very considerately suggested, ”Then I won’t disturb Ms. Quinlan any longer, enjoy your time with your friend.”

With that, he straightened up, greeted Nathalie Quinlan, and walked away before Candice Yancey arrived.
