The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 967: Chapter 967: The Early Works of Genius Designer S

She seemed afraid that Nathalie Quinlan might misunderstand, and after a pause, she added another sentence: ”Quite beautiful.”

Nathalie Quinlan put down the necklace and lifted her eyes, with a hint of lethargy and drowsiness, let out an ”Ah,” and replied indifferently: ”I don’t know. From a shop, I guess.”

From a shop?

The pressure on Sherly Iversen suddenly lessened quite a bit, and her eyes flickered again, as she politely thanked Nathalie Quinlan: ”Okay, thank you. I won’t bother you anymore.”

Nathalie Quinlan nodded her head, not caring much.

Sherly Iversen didn’t push her luck and quickly walked away.

By the time she got back to her group of friends, she had dropped the cultured and sweet facade she had in front of Nathalie Quinlan, and said with disdain: ”I asked her; she said she bought that necklace in a store.”

She paused, adjusted her chestnut curls, and continued nonchalantly: ”I just went up close to look at it, it’s the early work of designer S under seven, from the Star Series, a limited edition. There are only three designs in the entire series. If hers is authentic, it’s worth at least seven figures. Considering the current popularity of S’s work, it could very well be more than seven figures, and if hyped up, it might even fetch eight figures.”

Everyone in Beijing has money, but an eight-figure sum is not a trivial amount for them.

The price is steep.

Sherly Iversen cannot really be considered a part of Beijing’s socialite circle; she’s just a Female Star in the entertainment circle, but she got lucky. Not long after her debut, she managed to get in with a backer through company connections.

This backer took a fancy to her face, thinking she had a lucky appearance. They even consulted an expert to calculate her destiny based on her birth chart. Allegedly, Sherly Iversen brings good fortune to herself, and thus, the backer has been protecting and supporting her from behind.

This patron has quite a network in Beijing. Though not on par with the very top of the Pyramid Circle, at least they’re a figure on the periphery of that Circle.

Seven is a luxury brand under the Pinecone Group, and coincidentally, this patron supporting Sherly Iversen happens to have the Ingram surname.

Thanks to this connection, Sherly Iversen, who is quite the favored ’mistress’, could penetrate the circle of Famous ladies in Beijing, securing Tickets for seven’s big show through her background connections, even if not in the front row but the third row.

”If it’s authentic? You mean to say hers isn’t genuine?” a lady, not very fond of her, spoke slowly and deliberately, her tone full of skepticism: ”Impossible. Who would wear a fake to a fashion show?”

Supported by a powerful Background, Sherly Iversen responded confidently to the skepticism: ”I’m not saying that what she’s wearing is definitely a fake... but those who understand seven know that all the works of their designers are sold in stores, with the sole exception of ace designer S, whose works are never sold in stores, always limited editions, and usually snapped up as soon as they come out, reserved directly from the runway.”

”I just asked her, and she herself said she bought that necklace in a store.”

With that said, the others fell silent for a moment, not commenting, seemingly quite persuaded. The lady who was against her scoffed, looked her up and down, and said: ”You mean she’s wearing a Fake product, sugar-coating your words. Can someone wearing a Fake product sit in the front row at a show? You say you’re so familiar with Pinecone Group, how come you’re only in the third row?”

That was a pretty harsh insult.

Sherly Iversen’s face turned red with embarrassment, biting her lip, wanting to argue back but momentarily unsure how to retaliate.

Indeed, the big shot supporting her from behind was from the Ingram family in Beijing, but who in the circle doesn’t know that Silvania Ingram, the head honcho of the Pinecone Group, fell out with the Ingram family years ago, hasn’t been home for over a decade, and it was only a while ago that their relationship eased a little, and they started to reconnect.
