The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 969: Chapter 969: Accompanying an Elder

But the lady of high society didn’t give her face, smiled again, appreciated her displeased face color, and whispered, ”Oh, seeing Mr. Ingram’s assistant’s attitude, you probably won’t have a next time.”

”Brains are a good thing; it’s better to walk around in the Beijing Circle with your brain. Otherwise, you might carelessly kick an iron plate and end up with a broken leg, which wouldn’t be good!”

Originally, Sherly Iversen was merely feeling embarrassed, struggling to save face. But after hearing her words, her feelings evolved from initial embarrassment to fear and trepidation.

Her palms were pinched tight, fingertips trembling, her bitten lips bloodless and pale, with brows tightly furrowed, she truly did not know where she had gone wrong.

That girl looked so ordinary!

Dressed cheaply, without a single label on her clothes, like a regular high school student from a small place, at most a freshman in college; she really didn’t understand how she had accidentally kicked an iron plate!

”Ms. Quinlan, why didn’t you tell me you were coming? If I’d known, I would have gone outside to meet you.” Jethro Yapiter didn’t tell Nathalie Quinlan what he had just heard backstage – the slanders.

He mainly felt that mentioning people like Sherly Iversen in front of Nathalie Quinlan would be devaluing her.

It was fortunate for someone associated with the Ingram family to have been given tickets, yet she dared ridicule Nathalie Quinlan behind her back; it was laughable.

It was also because Mr. Ingram wasn’t here to hear what Sherly Iversen had implied about Nathalie Quinlan being kept; if he had heard, he might’ve had her thrown out by security and then made a phone call for the Ingram Family to come collect her...

Jethro Yapiter’s eyes and brows softened, appearing mild, but there was a sharp gleam in his eyes.

Of course, he would definitely report this matter to Mr. Ingram afterward; he just didn’t know if, after the Ingram Family had finally managed to mend their relationship with Mr. Ingram by seizing the opportunity to attend Ms. Quinlan’s college acceptance celebration, the mishap caused by Sherly Iversen would spoil everything. He wondered if the Ingram Family would be angry enough to have a stroke and then settle the score with Sherly Iversen and those behind her!

But he wasn’t concerned with this.

Jethro Yapiter gazed at the girl before him, feeling a sympathetic affection, and softly said, ”Mr. Ingram hasn’t been informed of your arrival yet, would you like me to tell her?”

Three days ago, they had sent Nathalie Quinlan a message about the big show, and Silvania Ingram even made a phone call to her, which Nathalie Quinlan declined, not very interested in coming.

Nathalie Quinlan rubbed her temples, not expecting to run into Jethro Yapiter again before the fashion show even started, raised her hand to massage her forehead, and spoke somewhat irritably, ”I’m accompanying an elder here to watch the show; it was a last-minute decision, so I didn’t have time to inform you and Mrs. Ingram.”

”Elder?”

”She went outside to make a phone call.”

”...I see.” Jethro Yapiter was quite surprised as to which family’s elder had such significant clout to have this big shot accompany them to the show, but he did not dwell on it. Seeing the imposing girl seated there, he hesitated for a moment before tentatively saying, ”Ms. Quinlan... erm...”

Nathalie Quinlan looked up, her beautiful black pupils focusing on him: ”Hmm?”

Jethro Yapiter, who typically handled affairs decisively and capably, always had to think thrice before speaking in her presence.

His gaze intensified as he thought carefully before suggesting, ”Ms. Quinlan, since you’re here, would you like to make a brief appearance on the stage?”

No one in Beijing knows yet that the phenomenal designer S from Pinecone Group is actually an 18-year-old girl, who only arrived in Beijing this year after staying in McKinney.

If Nathalie Quinlan consents to show her face on stage, future incidents with people like Sherly Iversen in Beijing will surely diminish.
