The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 894: Chapter 894: Introduce Nathalie Quinlan to Jaycent Kingsley

Mr. Zachmann didn’t quite understand either, but he was calmer than Leonardy Zachmann, his spirited visage composed and stable as he simply said, ”Guests have come, and we should receive them as such.”

He thought for a moment and then added, ”It must be someone Mr. Yancey has sent over.”

The circles in Beijing aren’t small, but there are only so many at the top of the pyramid; probably only Amadeus Yancey could reach someone like Jaycent Kingsley.

If not Amadeus Yancey, it would be the likes of Sadam Vinson.

It could also be Candice Yancey or Stephanie Tanzil, but these people were buying Amadeus Yancey’s face!

Leonardy Zachmann naturally understood this, nodded in agreement, and his expression became tranquil, ”Hmm, I got it.”

His verbal agreement was swift, but his heart was somewhat unsure. Jaycent Kingsley was too low-key and did not interact with others in the circle; Leonardy was not clear about Jaycent’s temperament, whether he was approachable or not, and worried that trying to receive a guest might inadvertently cause offense.

The young man’s steps weren’t fast, ambling along carrying a bag while also looking at his phone, seemingly sending a message.

Eventually, he approached where Leonardy Zachmann and Mr. Zachmann stood ready. He put away his phone, shed the casual demeanor from his face, and respectfully, with a very good attitude, extended the bag in his hand, ”Mr. Zachmann, congratulations. This is a little something from me, please accept it.”

”Thank you.”

Ericko Zachmann expressed his gratitude.

Leonardy accepted the bag from his hands, not knowing what was inside, and had just exchanged a few pleasantries.

Nathalie Quinlan made her unhurried way over.

Wearing a duckbill cap, her presence was striking, making her way to Mr. Zachmann; she glanced at the young man standing there, her expression faint as if not recognizing him, and turned her attention to the old man in the wheelchair, asking with politeness, ”Grandfather, I’m here.”

”Nathalie is here.” The formal composure Mr. Zachmann had just displayed disappeared from his face, revealing a kindly smile, his eyes lit up, and he waved her over, urging her closer, ”Come here, let me have a look.”

”...” If it were someone else, Nathalie might not have come over, but in front of the old man, she reined in her temper by seventy percent, appearing quite amiable as if easily spoken to, obediently walking over, allowing him to look her over thoroughly, tugging at her hands and scrutinizing carefully.

”You’ve lost weight,” Mr. Zachmann observed after a while, overwhelmingly distressed, inquiring, ”Is it because the college entrance exams were too exhausting, look, your face has thinned out.”

Nathalie had never paid much attention to her weight or put much stock in her appearance, so when Mr. Zachmann mentioned she had slimmed down, she didn’t know whether it was true or not, intending initially to raise her hand to her cap but then feeling the gesture impolite, she let her hand fall halfway and said, ”I’ll eat more in the future.”

”Indeed, eat more, don’t diet, it’s nicer for a girl to be plumper, blessed, you, you’re too skinny.” Mr. Zachmann hadn’t seen her in ages, and now that he finally got the chance, he couldn’t hide his concern and joy in his eyes, eager to keep his granddaughter in sight a bit longer, ”Back when you were in McKinney, I was far away, and your brother, being so careless, couldn’t take good care of you. Now that you’re in Beijing, Grandpa will take care of you. I’ll make you soup every week to replenish your nutrition, and that’ll be good.”

Every week... making soup...

Nathalie’s smile twitched in irritation.

However, she didn’t say anything, just gave an acknowledging ”ah,” indicating she understood.

Mr. Zachmann, holding onto her, wanted to ask about her college entrance exams and life back in McKinney, but from the corner of his eye, he noticed the young man still standing nearby. He suppressed the bubbling happiness, showing restraint, and smilingly introduced him to Nathalie.
