The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 879: Chapter 879: Treat Her Like a Daughter

Alfred Garland: ...

He held his water, eyes beginning to drift aimlessly, well aware that no one was paying him attention, yet he tried to preserve some dignity by saying dryly, ”Ah, I just remembered, I still have something to buy. Ms. Quinlan, Amadeus, please wait for me, I’ll be right back.”

Nathalie Quinlan hadn’t noticed him approaching, but upon hearing his words, she shifted her attention to the side, only to see Alfred Garland had already vanished like a wisp of smoke.

She didn’t read too much into it since her phone was vibrating again. She looked down at the phone.

It was a call from Silvania Ingram.

”I’m going to take a call,” Nathalie stood up, withdrew her hand, and picked up the phone, saying.

This time, Amadeus Yancey let go quite quickly, fully displaying the ’understanding’ a boyfriend should have, ”Go ahead. Take a nap on the airplane later; otherwise, you’ll have lots of things to attend to during lunch.”

”Mm.” Nathalie responded and walked aside to take Silvania Ingram’s call.

...

At the Pinecone Group building in Beijing, Silvania Ingram was dressed in a white business suit, her hair neatly combed back, giving off a strict and serious vibe.

”Knock knock.”

Jethro Yapiter knocked from outside and came in with tea.

He saw her by the floor-to-ceiling window on the phone, her eyebrows and eyes cast down gently. Her tone was soft and tender, as if she were talking to her own daughter, as though fearful that a loud voice might startle the person on the other end.

”Lunch at Imperial Hotel? Which floor? I’ll head over early.”

He placed the teacup on Silvania Ingram’s office desk, slowly sliding it to the side, not needing to ask to know who Mrs. Ingram was speaking with.

In all of Beijing, only Ms. Quinlan could coax such an accommodating tone from Mr. Ingram.

”The third floor? Alright, I got it. I’ll arrange the time and be there by eleven. Nathalie, have you boarded the airplane yet?”

Whatever the response from the other end, her face showed concern, ”You’re not staying at home when you come to Beijing? Where will you stay, is the hotel booked? Do you need me to book it for you? If you don’t want to stay at a hotel, you can come stay with me, or I could have someone clean up a house for you. Don’t you have dozens of properties here in Beijing? I’ll send you the addresses, and you can see which neighborhood you’d like to live in.”

Dozens of properties in Beijing... Jethro Yapiter kept his eyes down; he couldn’t help but marvel every time he heard this. Who would have thought that a seemingly insignificant girl from McKinney would own dozens of properties, all in the prime locations of Beijing, including high-end duplexes and villas.

The value of each exceeded seven figures, some even reaching nine figures, over a hundred million.

All these fixed assets were bought by Silvania Ingram for Nathalie Quinlan over the years. Even if Nathalie didn’t want them, they were recorded under her name.

It slowly accumulated to dozens of properties.

Anyway, he knew Mr. Ingram’s character: he gave properties as gifts for the New Year, for birthdays, and even when Ms. Quinlan called her Mrs. Ingram for the first time, she was so moved she gave away a house.

A small courtyard in the first ring of Beijing.

After several years of appreciation, the price, if Ms. Quinlan were to sell, would surely be sky-high!

There weren’t many in Beijing who could afford it.

Silvania Ingram continued talking on the phone by the floor-to-ceiling window, her gaze falling on the endless stream of cars below, her eyes warm, ”Mm... alright... we’ll talk when you get here. Send me a message when you’ve arrived, and I will have Jethro Yapiter pick you up.”

Jethro Yapiter lifted his head, silently noting this schedule for himself.

But Silvania Ingram ended the call and turned around to say, ”Nathalie said she’ll come by herself. I have to go to the Imperial for lunch; help me clear today’s schedule. After lunch, I have to talk to Mr. Zachmann.”
