The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 878: Chapter 878: So It’s Sadam Vinson

Nathalie Quinlan squinted as a can of hot coffee was handed to her. When she looked up, she saw the slightly drooping hand of the man holding the coffee can, resembling the hands of a male model in an advertisement, long and with well-defined joints, without an ounce of excess flesh, pale and the nails neatly trimmed and rounded.

In short, pretty nice.

She had always liked looking at beautiful people or things, and she shamelessly watched for a while longer before reaching out languidly to take the coffee from his hand.

It was only after accepting it that she realized Amadeus Yancey had already pulled open the can for her, so all she had to do was drink. She pursed her lips slightly, in a fairly good mood, and took a small sip, her face still showing signs of fatigue, making it obvious she had not had enough sleep.

Amadeus Yancey sat down beside her and covertly glanced at her phone, which was engaged in a conversation. He appeared to look at the nickname of the person chatting indifferently.

He recognized the name as Sadam Vinson.

Sadam Vinson had also sent a link to a multiplayer game.

Followed by a series of nonsense.

Amadeus withdrew his line of sight and raised his hand to push the short hair on her forehead behind her, his brows and eyes showing fatigue, quite striking to look at, ”Didn’t sleep well last night?”

Nathalie felt uncomfortable for a moment as he approached and touched her hair, her back involuntarily stiffening, but then she relaxed as she smelled the familiar scent of mint on his shoulder, and with a little ”ah,” she answered, ”Only slept for three hours, ran out of sleeping pills, and just couldn’t fall asleep.”

She had developed the habit of taking a sleeping pill before going to bed a few years ago; Lowie Wilmar would always get the pills for her when they were in McKinney.

Later, when Mr. Wilmar fell ill, Lowie returned to Beijing, and he had been busy taking care of Mr. Wilmar, so she hadn’t received her medicine for about half a year.

The day before yesterday, she had taken the last pill she had in stock, and last night she ran out. It was too late at night when she realized she had no more, and she was too lazy to go out and buy some.

As a result, she couldn’t sleep at all last night, only managing to doze off around three-thirty in the morning. She had a restless night, full of bizarre dreams.

When people don’t get enough rest, they tend to be irritable. Nathalie was the same; she had barely slept the previous night and had to wake up early in the morning. Her brows were slightly furrowed, and she was languid, not really in the mood to talk.

Hearing her mention the sleeping pills as if it were nothing, Amadeus’s lips tightened. ”I will have Alfred Garland get some for you later,” he said.

Nathalie glanced at him, still too lethargic to muster much energy, ”Mhm.”

He looked at the girl’s drowsy state, fiddling with her fingers. Her fingertips were slightly cold and there were faint calluses on the pads, a thin layer. He enveloped her hand in his palm, pondered for a moment, and said in a low voice, ”Have you ever been to the hospital for this insomnia of yours?”

The caress made Nathalie’s heart flutter, and though she wanted to pull away, she didn’t resist, instead giving up the attempt. Her shoulders were relaxed, she didn’t seem to object, ”No.”

”One of these days, I will take you to the hospital to have it checked out, see if Chinese Medicine can make any adjustments,” Amadeus said, looking gentle but with an authoritative tone that couldn’t be ignored.

Nathalie frowned slightly, not keen on going to the hospital, but she moved her throat without refusing outright, ”We’ll see when the time comes!”

She personally preferred sleeping pills for their convenience and quick results; take one, and drift off to sleep without any hassle.

As they spoke, Alfred Garland came over with a bottle of Mizone. Seeing the two sitting together, he felt like he was being force-fed dog food. Suddenly, the Mizone in his hand didn’t seem appealing anymore. His mouth twitched with the bitter taste of being a single, and before he lingered any longer, he saw a dismissive glance from Amadeus.
