The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 870: Chapter 870: Amadeus is a real dog!

Nathalie Quinlan’s phone was confiscated by him. She tipped her face up, with dangerously narrowed eyes. She bit her lips subconsciously and gave a low warning, ”Don’t go too far.”

Amadeus Yancey let out a light laugh, his throat brimming with amusement, ”Nathalie, is it me who’s going too far or is it you?”

”I’ve been waiting for an answer to that question for a long time. Shouldn’t you tell me first? Not letting me get a good night’s sleep.” His voice was hoarse beyond measure, deep as if he was chatting with her, yet shamelessly, he reached out and tousled the girl’s hair, ”Be good, tell me the answer first. Otherwise, I won’t be able to sleep. I haven’t been sleeping well lately, often having nightmares about being dumped.”

Nathalie smelled the strong scent of alcohol on him. She initially wanted to dodge his ’salty pig hand’, her neck stiffened up but couldn’t avoid it. She frowned and corrected him somewhat irritably, ”Your situation doesn’t count as being dumped. Being dumped applies when you have a girlfriend; what you have at most is a rejection!”

It was the first time Amadeus had been corrected in such a situation. He was momentarily stunned, then laughed wickedly, lowering his head to look at her, ”Then are you going to reject me?”

Nathalie felt his gaze locked on her, and it took her quite a while before she turned her face away, her face hidden by the duckbill cap was sharply delicate, her black lashes drooping down. She reached up to pull the cap but found her wrist was clutched by someone else and she couldn’t move it at all.

”...” She fell silent for a moment, without directly answering, said, ”Can I reject?”

”You can’t,” the man replied swiftly, almost without consideration.

Nathalie laughed then lifted her face, her clear black and white eyes pure, the corners of her eyes wildly trailing upwards as she looked at him, ”See, that’s it. Why even ask me for an answer? After all, there are only two answers, accept or reject. You didn’t give me the option to reject, so it’s just one option. Why bother asking me?”

She wasn’t good at dating. To her, studying was easier than dating; she felt solving math problems for First-tier University was easier than dating.

Dating was quite troublesome. According to her previous plan, she didn’t plan to date before graduating from university, and maybe not even after.

But she didn’t know how to refuse Amadeus Yancey.

She just couldn’t refuse this man.

Her response was akin to tacit agreement. Amadeus was initially stunned, then he let go of her hand, raised his hand to his forehead, seemingly surprised by his own happiness, almost uncontrollably laughing. He cornered her against a wall, his voice low and enticing, ”It’s not that you can’t refuse.”

Nathalie raised an eyebrow.

So, he wanted her to refuse?

She hadn’t even had the chance to ask.

The man’s languidly charming voice enveloped her from above, ”Isn’t it nice to be with me? Someone to cook for you, and take care of you.”

Nathalie hadn’t even said she didn’t need anyone to take care of her.

The next second, the man’s low laughter reached her, seemingly very in tune with her, he reached up to remove her duckbill cap, ruffling her hair and laughed, ”Most importantly, I have Edric Yancey.”

”Don’t you like Edric?” He paused, his voice full of temptation, ”If we’re together, you’ll be his official aunt, and if you’re happy, you could even have him call you mom in the future.”

Far away in Beijing, Edric Yancey was nestled on the sofa holding an ipad, playing games, when he suddenly sneezed, looking bewilderedly up and rubbing his nose.

”...”

For quite a while, Nathalie Quinlan was left speechless, her lips twitched as she mercilessly refused, ”I’d rather be the aunt.”

Sister to aunt had already jumped a generation, not something she was mentally prepared for yet.

She spoke quite naturally.

”Let’s not go with mom.”
