The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 239: Chapter 239: Sucking Up and Trying to Please_1

However, they dared not underestimate Silvania Ingram.

Silvania Ingram was different from them; she came from Beijing.

The Ingram Family also had a modest status in Beijing.

What’s more, over the years, the Pinecone Group she ran had been thriving, just as its name implied, and naturally, Silvania Ingram’s net worth had soared along with its success.

The Quinlan Family actually managed to invite Silvania Ingram... After Mrs. Fisher frowned, she relaxed slightly, exhaling a breath of turbid air.

She really didn’t want to come today, because Ghania Quinlan had previously disgusted her enough at the hospital, and on top of that, Ghania Quinlan had caused them to unwittingly offend the Yancey Family. She had been living in anxiety recently, afraid of the Yancey Family seeking revenge.

Fortunately, the members of the Yancey Family were busy visiting the hospital every day, and after more than a week, they showed no signs of wanting to trouble them.

Only then did she gradually let down her guard.

Today’s visit was nothing more than giving in to her own son’s insistence, plus Ghania Quinlan had shown her mettle by winning a decent award, even securing second place—a respectable ranking.

Zayn Fisher had also said that the Tucker Family would honor the event with their presence.

Only then did she reluctantly make the trip.

Mrs. Fisher watched as Jeff Quinlan and Ghania Quinlan got out of the car to welcome Silvania Ingram, and her mood began to improve.

It seemed she had made the right decision to come today.

Nathalie Quinlan, after all, was nothing to fear!

”Mrs. Ingram,” Ghania Quinlan followed them, calling out sweetly with her voice.

”...”

Silvania Ingram frowned, glancing at them only once, carrying something in one hand and holding a phone in the other, seemingly talking to someone.

Jeff Quinlan was shamelessly trying to ingratiate himself, saying with a flattering face, ”Mr. Ingram, it’s just a child’s birthday party. You didn’t need to bring a gift...”

Ghania Quinlan also noticed the bag that Silvania Ingram was carrying,

filled and bulging in the pocket of a seven, causing her to be full of anticipation for its contents.

The Pinecone Group was the parent company of seven, and it would be easy for Silvania Ingram to snag a new model—if it was the latest limited edition from the S series, that would be even better!

Ghania Quinlan’s eyes were bright and sparkling as she preemptively thanked her, ”Thank you, Mrs. Ingram.”

...

On the other end, Jhovany Sullivan and the others saw that another VIP seemed to have arrived at Ghania Quinlan’s side, and their hearts were not pleased, feeling even more distressed.

”Nathalie, what if, what if I pretend to have a stomachache, and later you can say you have to take me to the hospital?” She couldn’t think of any good idea but came up with the idea of escaping under the pretense of illness.

”There’s no need. The person I’ve been waiting for has arrived.” Nathalie reached for her phone, ready to take the call.

”...”

Jhovany Sullivan really wanted to say, she hadn’t seen any car arriving—was Nathalie’s guest walking here? Maybe that wasn’t any better than the plan she had proposed.

They might as well escape under the pretext of illness, to avoid the scene of Ghania Quinlan’s dog barking wildly later.

She wasn’t afraid of losing face; she was just worried Nathalie couldn’t stand it.

Nathalie had already seen the person surrounded by the Quinlan father and daughter, standing there in an inelegant manner, and she answered the call, ”Hello, Mrs. Ingram.”

...

”Mr. Ingram, you look tired holding that thing, let me have someone take the bag for you,” Jeff Quinlan dispatched someone to help carry the item.

Just then, Silvania Ingram, seeing the call go through, showed a smile and brought her phone to her ear, ”Hello, Nathalie, I’ve arrived. Where are you? I can’t seem to find you?”

Nathalie?

Ghania Quinlan turned pale, her heart thumped, and she almost felt it leap out of her throat.

It couldn’t be Nathalie Quinlan, could it?

Jeff Quinlan also turned as white as a sheet, turning a shade of green then red, his hand stiffening in mid-air, and the air seemed to solidify, immensely awkward.
