The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 207: Chapter 207: She is Not Picky_1

However, Nathalie Quinlan’s mouth twitched at the sight of the cute butterfly knot.

She remembered whose phone number this was.

Wasn’t it Candice Yancey, who had just exchanged contact information with her last night?

Nathalie looked at the time and sent a message back.

She casually put away her phone and checked on Lily, who was still sleeping in the next room, before heading downstairs from the second floor.

Downstairs, the seafood congee was already on the table. Nathalie pulled out a chair, her eyes sleepy, her entire demeanor enveloped in irritability.

She picked up a spoon and looked at the ’bland’ soup in front of her, feeling little appetite.

At that moment, Amadeus Yancey came over and placed a plate of pickled vegetables in front of her, the fresh greens coated with a layer of bright red chili oil, which looked appetizing enough to whet her appetite.

”Audrick’s fridge has nothing in it, just this, you’ll have to make do with it. Tomorrow I’ll have Alfred Garland restock with some groceries.”

”Hmm.”

The moment Nathalie saw the pickled vegetables, all her attention was on them, and without listening to what he had said, she started eating them eagerly with her chopsticks.

The first bite was crunchy and flavorful, the pickled vegetable strips were chewy, and the aroma of the chili oil exploded in her mouth, suddenly fueling the impulse to eat.

She hadn’t eaten much from noon until now, having focused all her energy on the little one’s surgery, and after a nap to regain some strength, she now felt hungry.

She was never shy about eating, and in some ways, she was easy to please as long as the food had salt and flavor—not picky at all.

The humble plate of pickled vegetables perfectly suited Nathalie’s palate, so she boldly scooped up the congee and ate with the side dish.

The warm shrimp porridge made from millet was just the right temperature for eating. She squinted her eyes with satisfaction, savoring the delicious combination of the pickled vegetables and the porridge.

”Take your time, there’s more if you want,” Amadeus said without eating himself. He just sat there watching Nathalie eat, a hint of iridescence flickering in his deep eyes.

Having finished a bowl already, Nathalie passed him the bowl quite neatly, ”Another bowl, please.”

”...”

Beijing’s socialites are always mindful of their manners while dining, eating very little in public no matter how hungry they are.

It was the first time Amadeus had seen a girl eat so carelessly.

But watching her enjoy her food so much, an unbidden sense of satisfaction arose in his heart, and he even felt like eating with her.

Soon, he served Nathalie another bowl of congee.

Nathalie wasn’t truly a big eater; she was just very tired and had developed stomach cramps from not eating for a long time.

After eating something to fill her stomach, she ate the second bowl with much more ease.

Though she ate in silence, one could tell from the speed at which she ate that she was already seventy percent full.

Audrick Zachmann didn’t go upstairs to sleep but remained in the living room for some reason, his peach blossom eyes shifting between the nonchalant Nathalie and the man sitting opposite her.

Thinking about what he had just discovered unintentionally, he couldn’t help himself and suddenly spoke up, breaking the quiet of the room.

”Hey, Nathalie, when did you take a solo photo for Amadeus?”

He didn’t even have a solo photo of her as her brother. Why did Amadeus have a solo photo of Nathalie? He wasn’t jealous or tattling; he certainly wasn’t jealous. He just wanted to ask, just caring a little for his sister...

A deep breath couldn’t suppress the surge of sourness in Audrick’s heart, his expression complex as he looked at the two of them.

They did look well-matched.

They say a grown daughter can’t be kept at home, but this was just too much!
