The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 211: Chapter 211: Ghania Quinlan Won an Award_1

Isn’t that just rotten luck?

The Pinecone Group suddenly stopped cooperating with their company, and several other partners followed suit, saying they’d bail just like that. The company’s capital chain was about to break!

Seeing that Jeff Quinlan and Emilia Sullivan had stopped talking, she waved Ghania Quinlan over: ”Come here to Grandma.”

Ghania Quinlan walked over obediently.

Cindy Lawrence eyes beamed with pride when she saw her, touching her hand and smiling, ”Do you remember the piece you submitted to the Piano Association before?”

She had submitted a piece to the Piano Association? Ghania Quinlan was momentarily stunned before she remembered—an incident like that seemed to have occurred.

Before Nathalie Quinlan left and before Ghania discovered she wasn’t really of the Quinlan Family’s blood, her relationship with Nathalie was quite good. Although Nathalie appeared aloof, she was very tolerant of her.

Whatever Ghania wanted, as long as she acted a bit spoiled with Nathalie, Nathalie would usually help her.

Like helping her to guess exam topics.

Or helping her with her compositions.

Back then, she saw an announcement from the Piano Association about an upcoming award, and she wanted to secure the reputation of a talented beauty in No. 1 Middle School by winning it.

But she couldn’t come up with a decent score for the life of her.

One day, she sought out Nathalie.

Her original intent was to boast about her ’extravagant troubles,’ but after a session of coquetry, Nathalie actually gave her a composition the next day to submit.

She’d played the piece, which was abstruse and difficult to understand, but at that time, she could think of nothing better and submitted it to the Piano Association.

Ghania Quinlan’s eyes lit up, grabbing Cindy Lawrence’s hand with an unexpected thrill, ”That piece got shortlisted?”

Lately, because of the incident on the show where she threw herself at Audrick Zachmann, she’d been targeted by the ’Pear Blossom’ group, and the scolding had been fierce.

There was even a post on the school’s forum calling for a new campus beauty election.

How could she willingly give up her position as the school beauty for nothing?

If she was shortlisted for a high-status award, her rank would naturally be different.

Sure, Nathalie was prettier, and she had a top star brother, but those were just superficial. Could they compare to real talent?

Sure enough, a look of pride spread across Cindy Lawrence’s face.

”Your Grandma Tucker told me that your piece didn’t just make the shortlist, it also took second place!”

This wasn’t just any ordinary award.

It was a prestigious national award.

If Ghania Quinlan could win such an award, she would also have a place in the upper circle from now on.

How could she not be delighted?

”Grandma knew you had talent. You, don’t follow in your parents’ footsteps and be shortsighted, only focusing on those beneath you. What’s Nathalie Quinlan compared to that? No matter how capable she is, in the end, she just has a teacher for a dad and a thespian cousin. You’re a legitimate wealthy and beautiful girl. If you keep comparing yourself to her, how will you go to Beijing to further your career, as you said, and become part of the real upper circle?”

At her words, the frustration in Ghania Quinlan’s chest was swept away, and she even forgot the incident at the hospital that afternoon. She could hardly hide her joy, snuggling up obediently beside her with a nod.

It had been a long time since there was a happy event in the family. The Quinlan Family was in high spirits. Cindy Lawrence thought for a moment and then said, ”The family has been unfortunate for so long. Now that Ghania’s work has won an award, and her birthday is coming up in a few days, let’s set a place and have a proper celebration to dispel the bad luck and also let outsiders see that the Quinlan Family hasn’t fallen!”

Jeff Quinlan hadn’t expected Ghania Quinlan to win an award either and was overjoyed, not giving it much thought before immediately agreeing, ”Alright, let’s set it at Waterfront Pavilion! I’ll use my connections to book us a spot.”
