Chapter 135: Chapter 134 Such a Sensible Child

Chapter 134 Such a Sensible Child

Feeling the moderate strength of Lin Zifeng’s large hands, Mu Yang even fantasized for a moment whether she should find a man like this in the future.

Though he was ordinary and even mediocre, far from the princelings, rich second generations, and business moguls, or even some white-collar workers she was used to seeing, he could give her a very comfortable feeling.

At her age, with her distinguished family background, she had long become indifferent to those so-called high society figures and successful elites. As a woman, ultimately, her life was to be with a reliable man.

Obviously, she knew about Zhou Wenlong’s amorous escapades; she simply disdained to pay attention to someone like him. She was someone who loved and hated boldly, and when she encountered someone she disliked, she never minced words—dislike meant dislike. Even her naturally proud character couldn’t be bothered with him; if she met someone she liked, and it happened to be the age to consider marriage, why not take the initiative to pursue it?

Although Lin Zifeng had no money, no house, no power, she did. So she didn’t care about these material things; she just wanted a home of her own, a good husband to love and cherish her. Liking someone didn’t need a reason—maybe it just took a look, or the scent he carried with him.

”Manager Mu, it’s almost nine-thirty now, and I still have to go back tonight. If I stay any longer, I really might not be able to control myself!”

Lin Zifeng gave a mischievous smile, his chiseled face like a sunbathed landscape.

It caused a slight tremor in Mu Yang’s heart.

”You’re leaving so soon? Won’t you stay and chat with your sister? I get very lonely at night.”

Mu Yang certainly didn’t want Lin Zifeng to leave just like that. She took the initiative to grab his large hand, speaking coquettishly, ”What if? Don’t go tonight, stay?”

As she said these words, her heart felt like it was turning over waves, pounding intensely, as her pretty and mature face turned crimson.

Bright Pearl eyes pleadingly fixed on Lin Zifeng’s eyes, for fear he would reject her request and she wouldn’t know how to handle it, how to face this man.

Looking at Mu Yang’s pitiful appearance, Lin Zifeng felt a twinge of pity in his heart, but then he grinned and said, ”Manager Mu, there’s plenty of time. It’s probably not good for us today. Alone together like this, if something were to happen, I really couldn’t take responsibility. So I think, there will be plenty of time in the future. If you’re free someday, we can always meet up again, what do you think?”

Observing the robust man with sharp features and a rascal’s charm, Mu Yang was no fool. She could tell there was a hint in Lin Zifeng’s words. Indeed, it wasn’t right to bring someone home after knowing them for less than a day, and to speak so shamelessly and flirtatiously with him. Pushing him too hard could break everything, and even friendship might become impossible.

Furthermore, the man she was looking for was definitely not someone who couldn’t resist temptation. She could see that this impish fellow did have some willpower; despite her temptations, he remained unmoved. Indeed, Mu Yang hadn’t misjudged him. Although on the surface he seemed rascally, he was selective, and she greatly admired this quality.

”Well, if that’s the case, you should go back.”

Mu Yang felt somewhat dejected, somewhat disheartened, and her emotions plunged.

Then she perked up and said with a smile, ”All right, since you want to go home, be careful on the road. Come to my place when you’re free, and I’ll cook for you.”

At the end, Mu Yang swept away the melancholy and revealed a charming and entrancing smile.

”Deal! Just for what Manager Mu said, I’ll definitely come often when I’m free. There’s nothing better than a free meal, right?”

Saying so, Lin Zifeng stood up and, with a pat on his backside, left.

Watching the man who hadn’t even been known for a day but gave her such an unusual feeling, Mu Yang felt a bit unwilling to let go, a bit helpless.

About five minutes after Lin Zifeng left, Mu Yang was clearly in a gloomy mood. Alone, she quietly drank wine, ate, and her mind reverberated with past events.

She wasn’t exactly thrilled with Lin Zifeng, but at least he didn’t give her a bad impression. Despite his indifferent appearance, he was actually quite a decent man.

With that thought, Mu Yang considered this man to be truly outstanding. If possible, she really wished her fiancé wasn’t Zhou Wenlong but Lin Zifeng.

At least in her eyes, Lin Zifeng was so much better than her in every way.

As for Zhou Wenlong, that piece of trash, she wouldn’t fancy him if not for his ties to the interests of a certain family in Yanjing. How else could she have ended up in this state?

But honestly, Lin Zifeng’s charm was exactly to Mu Yang’s taste. He was quite a spirited man. It wouldn’t be a bad choice if she could get her hands on him...

So, she drank a lot of alcohol and came to understand many things.

In her mind, she couldn’t forget the hilarious scene of Lin Zifeng teasing Zhou Wenlong...

After leaving Mu Yang’s house, Lin Zifeng didn’t dare to linger. He couldn’t handle this woman. After all, they still had to work together in the company year-round. It wouldn’t do to get involved in some melodramatic affair. Otherwise,

seeing each other day in and day out would make it difficult for him even to aspire to a desirable life.

He knew his own situation very well. He didn’t want to find a girlfriend for the time being, especially not an open-minded one like Mu Yang. She definitely wasn’t his type.

After hailing a taxi, he quickly headed home.

But as soon as he opened the door, he saw an old man and two younger ones looking at him with puzzled expressions. What on earth was going on here?

All three had obvious looks of displeasure on their faces. Lin Zifeng found himself in an awkward position, whether standing or sitting. He immediately broke out into a big, wry smile and said, ”Yo! Uncle Nangong, when did you get here?”

Seeing Nangong Shui sending him an inquiring look, Lin Zifeng promptly approached with a grin on his face.

”Uncle Nangong, what brings you here? Look at me, I rushed back so hurriedly I didn’t even have anything to welcome you properly. You should at least give me a call, right!”

Although Lin Zifeng became somewhat flustered upon entering and it felt like he was facing an inquisition, he showed no signs of remorse and was completely oblivious to the fact that he may have offended many people.

He naturally picked up an unopened bottle of XO from the liquor shelf and began drinking straight from it, paying no mind to everyone else in the room.

”Hehe, you, you must have misunderstood him. Look! What a good kid, how sensible, making himself right at home the moment he steps in the door without any hesitation.”

In order to extricate Lin Zifeng from the crisis, Nangong Shui praised him with sheer audacity, his words blatantly insincere as he tried to make the two women forgive him for his mistakes tonight, all while maintaining a serious expression and incessantly casting meaningful glances at Lin Zifeng.

But the more Nangong Shui tried to smooth things over, the angrier Hua Buqi became.

Is this what you call a good kid? Sensible? Walking in and immediately grabbing a drink without doing anything else, and he’s sensible?

Even Nangong Bing almost burst out laughing at her father’s defense. No matter how much he tried to cover for him, he needed to come up with a better excuse. It was clear as day to everyone there; calling him sensible and a good kid?
