Urban All-Round Master

Chapter 128: Chapter 127 Brotherhood Bonding

Chapter 127 – Heart-to-Heart Brothers

Zheng Liang, holding the twenty thousand yuan Lin Zifeng gave him, was incredibly happy—probably even more excited than Lin Zifeng himself. He couldn’t stop praising Lin Zifeng’s awesomeness.

A mere security guard being able to make the great CEO Nangong splurge like that was something they’d never have dared to even imagine before, and now this unbelievable fact had come true.

”I’m telling you, Zifeng, you’re really something else! Not only did you get the lost computer returned to its rightful owner, but our very own Goddess personally gave you twenty thousand yuan. If this had been in the past, it’s just unimaginable for us in the security department, man! No wonder, Zifeng, when you first arrived, I felt that you carried a special kind of aura, like Sun Wukong descending to the mortal realm. I always thought you’d do better than us in the future, and look at you now! You’ve only been here a few days and you already have everything. From now on, we’re really gonna need you to look out for us little security guys!”

At that moment, the security department was buzzing like a big gathering. A group of security guards, both young and old, gathered around Lin Zifeng as if they were looking at a precious object, their eyes shining with admiration.

Especially Zheng Liang, with Lin Zifeng’s twenty thousand yuan in hand, was so thrilled he was nearly singing Lin Zifeng’s praises to the heavens.

A crowd of guards, both young and old, gazed at Lin Zifeng with burning eyes, full of envy.

”That’s right! The first day I saw Zifeng, I also felt he had an extraordinary air about him, like a dragon in shallow waters. And now, even with just a small ripple, Zifeng is already showing the might of a Flood Dragon. Looks like I wasn’t wrong about him.”

At this time, a middle-aged, portly security guard close to forty years old began to chime in with his own flattery toward Lin Zifeng.

A bunch of people were surrounding Lin Zifeng, their gaze intense with envy.

”Get out of here! What dragon in shallow waters? Do you even understand the idiom about a dragon being teased by a shrimp in shallow waters? In my opinion, Zifeng is like a ’hidden dragon, rising high when the time comes.’ Just looking at him, he’s obviously destined for wealth and honor!”

The crowd pressed forward, competing to exchange pleasantries with Lin Zifeng, as if they wished to further ingratiate themselves with him.

However, Lin Zifeng just smiled modestly. He understood that for these security guards, who usually didn’t have much going on, blowing off steam and joking around was part of their lives.

Lin Zifeng pulled out a pack of cigarettes and shared them with everyone, saying with a smile, ”This twenty thousand yuan—I don’t want it. Later, I’ll have Brother Jia take the money, and everyone can go find a place to have fun and relax. If there’s any money left over, just consider it my treat for your cigarette money.”

Lin Zifeng was never a selfish person, especially not toward his colleagues with whom he addressed as brothers. While others might look down on these ’lowly’ security guards, Lin Zifeng treated everyone equally, believing that no profession should be judged as superior or inferior, and friendships shouldn’t be based on social levels.

Why refuse the company of good friends and brothers worth having?

”Zifeng, how can you do this? This was given to you by President Nangong. How could we possibly feel good spending your money? Besides, working as security guards isn’t easy, and twenty thousand is no small sum!”

While Zheng Liang envied Lin Zifeng and was quite tempted by the money, he knew it belonged to Lin Zifeng. They envied him, yes, but they all came from humble beginnings, and each had their own struggles. How could they feel comfortable spending their brother’s money on frivolity?

”Yeah, Zifeng, we can’t spend this money. We wouldn’t feel right if we did, so you should keep it.”

”Exactly, Zifeng, we admire and respect you, but we definitely aren’t after your money. We genuinely admire you. If you insist on using this money for us, then you’d be looking down on us security guys, wouldn’t you? Although none of us is wealthy, we still have our dignity.”

A group of security guards, young and old, began to demur. The last time Lin Zifeng reported Fan Jian, he almost got beat up by someone else, yet none of them stepped up to help. In the end, after Nangong Bing consolidated the matter, Lin Zifeng didn’t claim any credit at all. He deflected all the merit to his fellow security guards, who ended up sharing the perks among themselves.

Because of this, the security team already admired Lin Zifeng to the point of prostrating themselves in awe. Now, who would still have the face to spend Lin Zifeng’s money?

If he’s not stingy, could it be that they really see themselves as inferior?

Since Lin Zifeng treats his brothers as real brothers, then are they fools? Being human, one must have a conscience.”

”Hehe, money is a small matter. Think of this cash as a little token of appreciation I’m giving you brothers. If something bad ever happens to me, Lin Zifeng, then just take extra care of me, that’s all.”

Lin Zifeng sincerely smiled as he stuffed the money into Jia Zhenjing’s arms: ”If you guys don’t take my money today, then you’re really looking down on someone with the last name Lin. I, with the last name Lin, might not have much talent, but I do love to make friends. But brothers, don’t be polite with me. As long as I have it, you can all share in it. Besides, you brothers have worked hard at your posts over the years. In all fairness, this money should rightfully belong to you. It’s just that I became the intermediary...”

Under Lin Zifeng’s insistent demands, nearly every security guard was emotionally moved to death, finally accepting Lin Zifeng’s money.

However, the esteem they now held for Lin Zifeng was absolutely not ordinary; each of them looked at him with blazing admiration in their eyes!

If admiration was the word used before, at this moment, nothing but reverence remained in their eyes! Selfless reverence.

To lighten the mood, Lin Zifeng started to get a bit cheeky: ”I wonder whose ’action’ movies everyone is watching these days? Maybe you can recommend a few to your bros later to check out?”

Lin Zifeng’s face was full of mischievousness.

To further the relationship, Lin Zifeng had to shift the topic, after all, giving them money was certainly not in an attempt to curry favor or show off.

Since Lin Zifeng himself came from a rural background, he felt a strong kinship towards these workers. With his parents missing for so many years and their fate unknown, the sight of the security team’s honest faces involuntarily triggered certain memories in him.

”I heard that there have been some great new releases from Japan lately, and there’s a South Korean broadcast host, in her forties, who’s maintained her looks as though she’s still a young girl and she’s into naked broadcasting! How about it? I’ve got a lot of ’seeds’ here. If Zifeng wouldn’t mind, I could give you the latest great ’seed’. It’s got the newest and hottest videos! Anyone can find it with the right ’Divine Artifact’ for searching ’seeds’!”

”Really? You son of a bitch, I’ve been begging you forever and you’ve never given it to me. But Zifeng bro has a bigger clout, eh? Zifeng bro, please don’t look down on it. Even if you don’t want it yourself, it’s good enough for your bro here.”

A man in his fifties, his face full of lasciviousness, his leering eyes shining ceaselessly, was among them. Despite his age, the bond he had with his fellow security guards was solid as iron.

”Yo? You guys in the security team are really lively, huh?”

Just as everyone was shooting the breeze and sharing adult jokes, the famously sexy and enchanting vixen o’ the company, Mu Yang, actually sauntered up in her tight hip-hugging and thigh-skimming short skirt right to where everyone was.
