After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 448: Chapter 451: Proposal [4]

Leng Zimo just smiled faintly, a working meal for the concert is just a boxed lunch, and after finishing the rehearsal, she still has to practice on her own. Now it’s almost midnight, it would be strange if she weren’t hungry.

Starting the car and getting on the road, he asked while driving, ”How was the rehearsal?”

”I made a little mistake during my second practice run, but everything was OK during the rehearsal!” Luo Xiaoqian was eating an egg tart, her voice slightly muffled.

Made a mistake?

She had rehearsed several times yesterday and kept saying it went smoothly. How could there be a mistake today?

”Did something happen?” Leng Zimo asked with some concern.

Luo Xiaoqian swallowed the egg tart in her mouth, ”I... met someone in the afternoon.”

Leng Zimo’s brow furrowed slightly, ”Xu Pei?”

He never would have thought that the illustrious Lord Leng of his family would take personal action. The only possible distraction he could imagine for her was Xu Pei.

Luo Xiaoqian’s eyes widened, ”Sister Xu Pei told you?”

She had no idea about the matter between Xu Pei and Leng Zimo, but hearing Leng Zimo mention Xu Pei, she naturally assumed Xu Pei had told him about it too.

What on earth did Xu Pei do to distract her so much?!

Glancing at the rearview mirror to make sure there were no cars behind, Leng Zimo pulled the car over to the side of the road and stopped.

”What did Xu Pei say to you?”

Realizing she had guessed wrong from his question, Luo Xiaoqian said, ”This... can you not ask?”

”I can’t!”

”Alright then, I’ll tell you, but you have to promise me not to get mad at Sister Xu Pei, she didn’t do it on purpose!”

”I’ll do my best.”

He wouldn’t promise something he couldn’t truly do.

With the conversation having reached this point, Luo Xiaoqian had no choice but to tell the truth, ”It’s like this, Sister Xu Pei went to visit my uncle and accidentally left my information behind. My uncle saw our news and found out we were together.”

Xu Pei!

Leng Zimo silently clenched his teeth.

”And then... this afternoon, your dad called me saying he wanted to see me...”

”That’s not necessary. If there’s a next time, just tell him to come to me with any issues.”

”But...” Luo Xiaoqian started to feel uneasy, ”I already went to see him.”

”Damn it!”

Leng Zimo was taken aback. He knew that man too well. That man had never had a good impression of the entertainment industry and certainly wouldn’t have shown her a pleasant face. Other than feeling aggrieved, there was little else she could have experienced by going to see him.

Thinking he was cursing her, Luo Xiaoqian’s expression grew uneasy, ”Sorry, at that time he was near Workers’ Stadium, so... I acted impulsively...”

”I wasn’t talking about you!” Leng Zimo heard her misunderstanding and reached over to hold her hand, ”I can imagine, he must have used harsh words to hurt you, telling you that if you’re thinking about marrying into the Leng Family, it’s impossible, right?”

When she heard the words ”it’s impossible,” Luo Xiaoqian laughed, ”It wasn’t really harsh, I suppose, but you guessed right about the rest. Speaking of which, you and your father are really alike.”

Seeing her smiling face, his heart ached for her. His father was someone who could turn words into knives and swords; this young girl must have been deeply stung by him.

”Did you cry?”

”Why would I?” Luo Xiaoqian lifted her chin slightly, ”I was very strong at the time. I just stood in front of the table and said, ’If you wanted to see me just to make me give up on Zimo, I just want to say I’m sorry, I love him, I can’t do that,’ and then, I walked away.”
