After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 418: Chapter 421: A World of Two People [4]

”Okay!” Xu Pei glanced at Luo Xiaoqian, her face slightly flushed from running, ”Let’s begin!”

Luo Xiaoqian had to fly to New York early tomorrow morning to start a three-week training program. Before she left, they had to finalize the tracklist with the ten songs that had made the cut for the album. After that, they needed to come up with the final plan and submit it to Leng Zimo for approval.

As everyone had done their homework, the meeting went smoothly. By integrating all participants’ plans, in the end, Luo Xiaoqian’s three original songs, as well as the anonymously penned ”Only You,” were all chosen.

”I really appreciate everyone’s work ethic, and I believe that after Xiao Qian returns from her intensive training, she will definitely present us with a satisfactory result!” Xu Pei stood up, smiling as she looked around at everyone, ”Meeting adjourned!”

With the songs selected, the next step was the planning of the strategy. Zhuo Yannan and the others were busy, so after giving Xiao Qian a few hasty words of advice, they immediately left to dive into their new tasks, leaving only Xu Pei, Luo Xiaoqian, and Yu Tong.

”Sister Xu Pei, I really want to thank you for securing this opportunity for me!” Luo Xiaoqian approached, ”I’m truly sorry for being late today.”

Xu Pei shook her head with a smile, ”Actually, you weren’t late. I’m just used to arriving early. You’ll probably need to communicate entirely in English while in the United States; are you comfortable with that?”

Luo Xiaoqian smiled, ”It’s passable. Besides, Yu Tong will be there too, and her English is quite good.”

”That’s great!” Xu Pei patted her on the shoulder, ”If you have any problems, you can call me at any time, and I’ll help you resolve them as soon as I can.”

”Thank you, Sister Xu Pei.” Luo Xiaoqian thanked her earnestly, ”Well, we should head back and get ready.”

Xu Pei walked with them to the elevator, reminding Luo Xiaoqian of some important things to pay attention to, and then saw them off with a smile as they entered the elevator.

”Weird!” Yu Tong leaned against the elevator wall, ”The queen didn’t lose her temper, and she even smiled all the way to the elevator. Don’t you think she’s acting odd, Xiao Qian?”

”Not really.” Luo Xiaoqian glanced at her doubtfully, ”Is she?”

”Anyway, her demeanor in today’s meeting was quite different from how she was in yesterday’s meeting. My gut tells me that woman must have some happy news,” Yu Tong said.

”You should just become a fortune teller!” Luo Xiaoqian gave her a look, ”I thought I had a few more days, I didn’t expect to leave tomorrow.”

”That’s how this business is, but don’t worry. All you need to do is prepare your luggage; leave everything else to me!” Yu Tong patted her chest, ”With super-assistant Yu Tong here, everything is OK!”

”Then I’ll count on you!” Luo Xiaoqian laughed.

...

...

Outside the elevator.

Xu Pei turned and walked back to the conference room, gathering up the computer and materials from the table. Since she was new to the job, her assistant hadn’t been appointed yet, so she had to take care of these tasks herself.

Holding the items, she re-entered the elevator, her face still wearing a smile.

The elevator stopped at the 36th floor, and with a smile, Xu Pei walked back to her own office.

The Empire Building had a total of 39 floors, with offices allocated by rank. Her office was on the 36th floor. It wasn’t small and the décor was quite nice, but compared to her office in the United States, it still fell short.

The taste of the previous music director was clearly not to her liking, but now, looking at everything in front of her, she found it all strangely comfortable.
