After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 447: Chapter 450: Proposal [3]

Yu Tong and Gao Jie had already come over worriedly, handing her a water bottle. Yu Tong helped her wipe off the sweat with a towel. ”Xiao Qian, are you alright? Your complexion doesn’t look very good?”

”I’m fine, it’s probably just too hot. I’ll go wash my face!” Luo Xiaoqian smiled at everyone and walked into the restroom on her own.

After washing her face with cold water and looking at herself in the mirror, her back slowly straightened.

”You promised Zimo you’d walk through this strongly with him. Just this and you can’t handle it, how can you possibly walk with him to the end? Luo Xiaoqian, come on, I believe you can do it because you are the indomitable Luo Xiaoqian!”

Pumping herself up in front of the mirror, Luo Xiaoqian strode out of the restroom.

Fifteen minutes later, she walked on stage again.

This time, Luo Xiaoqian’s performance was perfect, beyond reproach.

...

...

At eight o’clock in the evening, during the final dress rehearsal, it was already past eleven when everything was completed.

”Good!” The chief director Shen Tao clapped his hands, ”You’ve all worked hard, everything’s very good. Now, everyone go back and rest well tonight. Tomorrow evening, we will present a wonderful performance to our audience!”

Everyone dispersed, removing their makeup and exiting the stage. Luo Xiaoqian sent Zimo a message saying she would be home late and then kept Xu Xia back for one last personal rehearsal between the two of them.

It was her first collaboration with Xu Xia, her first time on such a big stage, and she took this performance very seriously, especially after being provoked by Father Leng; she grew even more diligent.

The two of them practiced several times, carefully preparing everything they could think of: harmony, positions, eye contact... it was already twelve o’clock.

”That’s it, perfect. I guarantee, we will rock the whole venue tomorrow!” Xu Xia grinned, whistling into the empty space.

”Xiao Qian, your phone!”

Yu Tong ran over and handed Luo Xiaoqian her phone.

”What, is Emperor His Majesty getting anxious?!” Xu Xia teased with an ambiguous smile.

Glancing at the screen showing ”Big Fool,” Luo Xiaoqian walked aside and answered the call.

”Has the dress rehearsal not finished?”

”Not yet, Xu Xia and I were deliberating over the harmony a bit more, but we’ve finished now. We’ll be going back soon.”

”I’m at the north gate, you’ll see me when you come out.”

”Okay, I’ll be out in a moment.” After hanging up, she looked apologetically towards Yu Tong and Xu Xia, ”I’m really sorry, I... I can’t go with you guys.”

”Understood, does the princess have someone to pick her up!” Xu Xia teased with a smirk, ”Come on, let’s ’maidens with no one to cherish or love’ head out on our own!”

Yu Tong, laughing, brought Luo Xiaoqian her bag, ”Miss Xu, shall Gao Jie and I walk you?”

”That would be very kind!” The three of them headed backstage together. Luo Xiaoqian then leaped off the stage, walked through the stands, and upon reaching the north gate, indeed saw a black Mercedes parked at the curb. She hurried over, opened the passenger door, and sat down, ”Didn’t you say you were going to work late?”

”I just finished.” Zimo closed the laptop on his lap, turned to put the laptop in the backseat, and in the process, picked up a paper bag from the backseat and handed it to her, ”For you!”

Without opening the bag, Luo Xiaoqian could already smell her favorite peach tarts.

”Thank you!” She smiled, apologizing as she nonchalantly picked one up and bit into it generously, ”You know me best.”
