After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 404: Chapter 406 Xu Pei’s Mind Games [10]

Luo Xiaoqian was initially a bit embarrassed, but when she heard such words coming from Huangfu Ao, who was always serious and rarely joked, she couldn’t help it and burst into laughter.

Leng Zimo’s eyes also curved upward in a smile, ”My appearance fee is pretty high, I’m afraid you all can’t afford it!”

”It’s okay if you don’t come. Sister-in-law and I will sing!” Leng Zirui stood up, ”Let’s go upstairs. He can stay wherever it’s cool!”

Everyone left the room laughing and chatting while Leng Zimo spoke a word to the waiter.

As soon as they exited the elevator upstairs, a floor manager approached to lead everyone to a luxurious VIP room, soon followed by an assortment of alcohol, fruits, and beverages brought through the door.

Leng Zimo and Luo Xiaoqian were naturally seated together by everyone, while Shen Yizhou handed them the microphones and Huangfu Ruo bounced over to the song selection system.

Xu Pei glanced at the people squeezed together on the sofa, frowned once again, and casually took a bottle of alcohol from the table. She then turned and sat down in a corner.

”Sister Xu Pei!” Xu Xia came over and sat beside her, ”I have some questions I’d like to ask you, is that okay?”

”Of course it is.”

Xu Pei’s smile was somewhat forced, but unfortunately, the carefree Xu Xia didn’t notice.

”I heard you worked at the Atlantic record label before. You must have met Madonna, right?!”

Xu Pei’s eyes moved away from the screen to look at the curious girl in front of her, ”Drinking alone is no fun. How about we play a drinking game?”

”Sure!” Xu Xia, unaware of any scheme, immediately picked up the drinking game spinner.

She was no match for Xu Pei and was quickly made half-drunk.

”I’ve heard you’re pretty good at singing English songs. How about you and Xiao Qian sing a duet, so I can listen to your voice?” Xu Pei suggested.

”Okay!” Xu Xia immediately went over, ”It’s my turn. President Leng, could you please make way and lend me your girlfriend for a bit?”

Leng Zimo got up with a smile, giving up his seat.

Today, Qian enjoyed herself a lot, and he was very happy about it.

Xu Pei, looking at Luo Xiaoqian with Xu Xia’s arm around her shoulder, picked up her handbag and stood up. She walked to a spot near the restroom before taking out her phone and sending Leng Zimo a text message.

”Zimo, I’m at the restroom.”

Leng Zimo, who was chatting with Leng Zirui and Huangfu Ao, felt his phone vibrate. He glanced at the text message and immediately stood up, ”I’ll be back in a sec!”

On his way to the restroom, he didn’t see Xu Pei anywhere.

”Xu Pei?” he asked in confusion, stopping outside the women’s restroom, ”Are you in there?”

Inside the restroom, Xu Pei heard his voice and, after hesitating with her phone displaying Luo Xiaoqian’s number, finally decided to press the call button.

”Xiao Qian, I think your phone is ringing!”

Hearing the ringtone coming from her bag, Tong Ya reminded her with a smile.

Luo Xiaoqian put down the microphone, stepped inside to get her phone, and seeing the unfamiliar number, answered with confusion after stepping out of the room, ”Hello?!”

”Is this Xiao Qian? It’s Xu Pei. I’ve fallen down in the restroom. Can you help me?”

”Okay, I’ll be right there!”

After hanging up, Luo Xiaoqian hurried towards the direction of the restroom.

Inside the restroom, Xu Pei put her phone back into her handbag and then let out a loud, sharp scream.

”Ah, is there anybody there? Help!”

”Xu Pei?!”

Leng Zimo, who was looking for her outside, heard her cry for help, rushed in, and burst into the women’s restroom.
