After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 439: Chapter 442: Some Loves are Only Namesake [5]

”Yeah, she said she tripped and asked for my help, so I rushed over. Weren’t you there too?” Remembering Xu Pei’s behavior then, Luo Xiaoqian laughed carelessly, ”It was so funny, do you know what Sister Xu Pei told me after you left the restroom?”

Leng Zimo frowned slightly, ”What did she say?”

”She went out of her way to explain that there was nothing going on between you two, as if she was terrified I’d misunderstand that you two were having an affair!” Luo Xiaoqian chuckled.

Leng Zimo didn’t laugh. Instead, his eyes grew more intense, ”And you, did you misunderstand?”

”Of course not!” Luo Xiaoqian patted his chest, ”If you were really having an affair, why would Sister Xu Pei bother calling me? Is she trying to let me catch you in the act on purpose? Alright, I’m off to shower!”

”Hang on a second!” Leng Zimo grabbed her wrist.

”What’s up?” Luo Xiaoqian turned around, looking at him puzzled.

”We really have nothing going on,” Leng Zimo said earnestly.

”I know that!” Luo Xiaoqian lifted her face to meet his eyes, ”I know, you love me!”

Sometimes she could be a bit slow to react, yet she could feel his painstaking efforts towards her.

If it wasn’t love, if it were just for her body, he wouldn’t have needed to do any of that, because he would have had her already before then.

Leng Zimo gently stroked her small face, ”Credit to your intelligence!”

”So, from now on, no calling me Little Fool!” Luo Xiaoqian smiled as she headed for the bathroom, ”I’m going to take my shower.”

”Wait a moment!” Leng Zimo called out to her once again, ”If...I mean if, another woman tried to take me away from you, what would you do?”

Luo Xiaoqian turned her head and made a throat-slashing gesture at her neck with a fierce expression, ”Bring one on, and I take one down!”

Leng Zimo couldn’t help but laugh and cry at the same time, ”That looks more like suicide.”

”Sorry, wrong performance, let me do that again!” Luo Xiaoqian swapped her ”knife” for a ”gun,” mimicking a trigger pull as seen in the movies, ”Dare to steal my man, Luo Xiaoqian’s man, bring one on, and I take one down.”

Finally, she didn’t forget to blow on her fingertips and then poked his chest, ”I need to make a sign later and hang it here, stating ’Property of Luo Xiaoqian, violators will be executed without mercy!’”

Leng Zimo, who had been serious-faced, couldn’t help but burst out laughing because of her antics, ”It’s such a waste for you not to become an actress!”

Luo Xiaoqian wasn’t laughing. Lifting her face, she looked at him earnestly.

”Zimo, if one day, you truly fall out of love with me, please make sure to let me know. I promise I’ll leave gracefully. No crying, no tantrums, no threats of suicide. My only request is that you never lie to me!”

”Silly girl!” His heart ached instantly, and he pulled her into his embrace, ”How could I ever fall out of love with you?”

”Ha...” Luo Xiaoqian laughed out loud in his embrace, ”Leng Zimo, Big Fool, you got duped by me...”

”You little brat, you’re acting again!” Leng Zimo chided helplessly, his hand moving toward her waist, ”I’ll show you what the punishment is!”

Luo Xiaoqian collapsed onto the pillow laughing, and he followed, pressing down onto her, ”Tell me, do you dare to do it again?”

”I dare not, I dare not!” Luo Xiaoqian replied breathlessly.

Her jet-black hair cascaded beside her head, and her pajamas had already come loose. Her lips, parted slightly due to her breathlessness, were exceptionally tempting.

Leng Zimo lightly kissed her lips, suppressing the urge to deepen the kiss. He helped her sit up and spoke seriously, ”Xiao Qian, do you believe me?”
