After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 438: Chapter 441: Some Loves are Only Namesake [4]

On the way to World City, Luo Xiaoqian noticed a pharmacy by the roadside and subconsciously stopped, hesitated several times, but ultimately didn’t go in.

Back at World City, she ate something simple and wanted to familiarize herself with the album’s song list, but she was so sleepy after listening to it for just a while that she went straight upstairs to sleep.

As she slept in a daze, she felt a warm hand on her forehead.

Startled awake, she saw Leng Zimo’s concerned face.

”Are you not feeling well, why are you sleeping in the middle of the day?”

”No, I’m probably just not over the jet lag?” Sitting up, she looked at him with a smile, ”What would you like to eat? I’ll make it!”

”Tomorrow is the weekend, we’ll go out to eat tonight!” Leng Zimo said with a smile, rubbing her little head, ”Also, I have some news for you. Emperor View, in collaboration with EM, is organizing a Huaxia Idol Carnival concert, and you’ve been specially invited to participate. You’ll sing two songs, one of which is a duet with Xu Xia. You two can decide on the specific duet song, but of course, for the sake of the performance, it would be best not to choose something that is the same type as your singles because... ”

Before he could finish, Luo Xiaoqian had already pounced on him, excitedly showering his face with kisses.

”That’s great, I’m going to call Xu Xia right now!”

Last time, she had missed the awards ceremony, and now she finally had the chance to perform with Xu Xia on stage, which she considered as making amends. How could she not be happy?

No sooner said than done, she picked up her phone and called Xu Xia, who was also thrilled to hear the news. They immediately began discussing the song for their duet.

Of course, they couldn’t decide on it right away. A duet between two girls shouldn’t be a love song, and just the matter of choosing a song had taken them nearly twenty minutes without a decision.

A note was handed to her; on it were four characters.

”Zhang Yusheng ’River’”

Luo Xiaoqian looked gratefully at Leng Zimo, ”Shall we sing ’River’?”

”Yes, yes, I love that one. I don’t know why I didn’t think of it just now!” Xu Xia immediately agreed over the phone.

It was a song both of them liked, and they had performed it together during their residency at Golden Palace.

”That’s settled then, we’ll meet at the rehearsal site tomorrow night!” After hanging up, Luo Xiaoqian looked at Leng Zimo somewhat apologetically, ”Sorry, I got so excited and made you wait for so long.”

Leng Zimo nodded toward the side casually, ”Actually, I was busy too!”

Luo Xiaoqian glanced at the bedside and saw her clothes neatly laid out, from underwear to coat, shoes, and purse, all ready for her to wear, arranged by him while she was on the phone.

”I’m going to take a shower, I promise, it will be quick!” Luo Xiaoqian said with a smile as she threw off the covers and began to put on her shoes, not forgetting to ask him, ”How did you think of that song?”

”I heard you two singing it at KTV last time.” Leng Zimo replied.

Luo Xiaoqian thought for a moment but couldn’t remember, ”Did we sing that song?”

”Of course, even though I only heard half of it, I thought your cooperation was really quite good!”

”Why?”

”Because I went to the restroom.” Leng Zimo did not mention the text message Xu Pei had sent him.

”Oh, I remember now. We hadn’t finished the song when I took Sister Xu Pei’s call and went to the restroom.”

A flicker of something unusual crossed Leng Zimo’s eyes, ”She called you that night?”
