After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 437: Chapter 440: Some Loves are Only Namesake [3]

”What’s different about it, he’s a man, isn’t he? If he’s a man, then he should take responsibility. Could it be that he’s only concerned about pleasure in bed, and once off the bed, he doesn’t care anymore?!” Xu Xia’s voice rose again.

”Miss, can you keep it down, please?!” Luo Xiaoqian covered her mouth, glancing around.

Last night, Luo Xiaoqian and Leng Zimo had just returned from the United States.

In Beijing, the only one she could call a friend was Xu Xia. As it was her first time going to the United States, naturally, she didn’t forget to bring some gifts for her. Xu Xia happened to be off work this morning, so the two good friends arranged to meet here at the café for a chat.

Naturally, normal working people wouldn’t be at a café at this time, so apart from the two of them, there weren’t many customers in the café.

”Zimo is not that kind of person. His family is quite special. They keep our relationship from the public eye because they worry I’ll be mistreated.”

”That sounds nice, but what’s so special about that? Isn’t he just a high-ranking official’s son, acting like he’s royalty?”

”Do you know who his father is?” Luo Xiaoqian leaned into her ear, ”Leng Lin!”

Xu Xia almost spilled her juice on herself, ”Admiral of the General Staff Leng Lin, my goodness, he really is like royalty then?”

”The difference between us two is just too great. Think about it, how could someone like him possibly look up to me?” There was a hint of helplessness in Luo Xiaoqian’s voice.

Usually not one to dwell on issues, Xu Xia fell silent for a good while before she sighed.

”So, Leng Zimo is really an outstanding man!” Putting down her cup, Xu Xia seriously grabbed Luo Xiaoqian’s arm, ”As your good friend, I know what I’m about to say might sound unpleasant, but I must say it. A family background like that really isn’t one we can fit into easily. Dating is one thing, but marriage is another. If you and Leng Zimo do reach that point, you must think it over carefully!”

”We’re far from getting married!” Luo Xiaoqian laughed, ”Alright, let’s not talk about this anymore. What have you been busy with recently?”

Once the topic turned to work, Xu Xia immediately became excited, sharing about the single she was preparing and the Huaxia Idol Carnival concert. Xu Xia spoke with animated enthusiasm, while Luo Xiaoqian kept yawning.

”Hey, you. That’s not nice, I’m all excited here, and you keep yawning?” Xu Xia caught her obviously tired face and pinched Xiao Qian’s cheek. ”Confess, did you get up to no good last night?”

”What nonsense are you talking about, I just haven’t adjusted to the jet lag yet.”

”I don’t buy it!” Xu Xia chuckled mischievously, moved closer, and placed her finger on her wrist, pretending to take her pulse, ”Congratulations to the empress, it’s a ’happy pulse’!”

”Go away!” Luo Xiaoqian pushed her aside.

Just then, Xu Xia’s phone rang. It was her agent notifying her to rush to the company for a promotional shoot, so the two of them grabbed their bags and left the café.

While waiting for a taxi, Xu Xia suddenly remembered something, ”Oh right, Xiao Qian, remind your man to wear a raincoat!”

”Is it going to rain?” Luo Xiaoqian looked up; the sky was clear and sunny, not looking like rain was on its way.

Seeing her clueless expression, Xu Xia sighed, leaned in and whispered something into her ear, instantly making Luo Xiaoqian’s face turn red and pushing her away, ”Go off to your photoshoot.”

”What’s there to be embarrassed about!” Xu Xia rolled her eyes at her, ”And don’t say I didn’t warn you, having an abortion could really harm your health.”

”Enough!” Luo Xiaoqian raised her hand to hail a taxi for her, ”Get going on your royal procession!”
