After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 396: Chapter 398 Talent or Oddity【2】

”I don’t know,” Little Liu tapped on the keyboard, ”this was given to me by a colleague from the materials department. The sender specified on the parcel that this song was written especially for Xiao Qian. After listening, everyone in the materials department felt it was utterly stunning. Whether it be the pitch or style, it’s as if it was tailor-made for Luo Xiaoqian. They wanted to contact the original composer, but discovered the individual had signed as anonymous and hadn’t left any contact information.”

”How mysterious!” Xu Pei hummed the drumbeat from earlier, ”That drum section was a stroke of genius, seamlessly merging reggae with classical music. This must be the work of a very mature and talented composer. I’m sure that this composer is formally trained and also has an exceptional grasp of musical styles.”

”Exactly!” Little Liu pulled out a sheet of paper from the files, ”This person is not only talented but extraordinarily peculiar. Apart from the demo CD, they also sent a special authorization letter stating that this composition is only authorized for Luo Xiaoqian to perform. If anyone else were to perform it, they would retract the copyright.”

The people around the table became more and more surprised, and Luo Xiaoqian looked at Little Liu curiously, ”Really?!”

”Why would I lie to you?!” Little Liu handed the authorization letter to her, ”If you don’t believe me, look for yourself.”

Luo Xiaoqian took the printed authorization letter and, sure enough, saw that the contents matched exactly what Little Liu had said.

”This person is very confident, seemingly sure that we would choose them. Besides the demo, the CD also contains separately recorded drums and piano,” Little Liu showed the CD to everyone, ”I’ve checked the sound quality, and it’s good enough to be used directly for post-production mixing.”

”This is probably what they call good fortune!” Zhuo Yannan chuckled, ”I think this is a good omen. This time, Xiao Qian’s album is bound to be extraordinary.”

At this point, the phone Luo Xiaoqian had in her pocket had started to vibrate gently.

”I’m sorry.” she said, busy hanging up the call.

Zhuo Yannan glanced at his watch, ”Little Liu, how many songs have been selected for sure?!”

Little Liu looked at the screen, ”Sixteen songs got full votes.”

”Great!” Zhuo Yannan smiled, looking at Xu Pei, ”Director Xu, does that mean our meeting for today is over?!”

”It was a pleasure collaborating with everyone for the first time, and I was hoping to communicate more with everyone. However, tonight President Leng is hosting a welcome dinner for me, so we’ll have to postpone it for another day,” Xu Pei stood up smiling, ”I’ll see everyone tomorrow, meeting adjourned.”

As everyone gathered their things and left their seats, Luo Xiaoqian nodded at Xu Pei and left the meeting room with Yu Tong and the others.

”Who is this Xu Pei? Such a queen!” Little Liu curiously asked as they entered the elevator.

Gossip is an evergreen topic.

The poise and sudden arrival of Xu Pei naturally aroused the curiosity of several young subordinates.

”She’s also one of the company stakeholders. She was instrumental in creating Emperor View with President Leng. It seems they were childhood friends, and she has been working at Atlantic Records under Warner, holding quite a high position,” Zhuo Yannan explained.

”No way, that’s impressive. But why would she return to Emperor View to be a music director?”

”Could it have something to do with President Leng?” Xiao Zhou suggested ambiguously.

”What nonsense are you talking about?!” Zhuo Yannan glared at her and then looked at Luo Xiaoqian, who was standing to the side making a call, ”Everybody, do your homework well. I’m giving you two days to analyze all sixteen songs that were approved today, and then write up your own album design proposal.”
