After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 394: Chapter 396: The New Music Director

For work, he was just like that, whether it was Luo Xiaoqian or Xu Pei, as long as it was work-related, he would strictly enforce his own standards, even though Xu Pei had just joined the company.

”Okay.”

Xu Pei followed him toward the direction of the meeting room, flipping through the folder as she went, studying the contents.

The two of them entered the meeting room together, where Luo Xiaoqian, Yu Tong, Zhuo Yannan, and a few of his team members had already gathered, discussing preliminary matters. Upon seeing Leng Zimo enter, everyone stood up.

Luo Xiaoqian took off her trial headphones, lifted her face, and as her gaze met Leng Zimo’s, she gave a faint smile. She noticed Xu Pei, who followed behind him, and a flash of surprise appeared in her eyes, which quickly returned to calm.

Last night, Leng Zimo had thoroughly explained his situation with Xu Pei to her. She also knew that when Leng Zimo first established Emperor View, Xu Pei had also made an investment, and she was originally supposed to be a member of Emperor View’s board of directors.

”Let me introduce her.” Leng Zimo’s eyes briefly met Luo Xiaoqian’s, then he looked away and spoke seriously, ”This is Xu Pei. Starting today, she is the music director of Emperor View. She will be fully in charge of Luo Xiaoqian’s album this time. I hope everyone has a pleasant collaboration.”

Luo Xiaoqian looked at Xu Pei somewhat unexpectedly, then led the applause.

Apart from Leng Zimo, she understood Xu Pei the best and was well aware of her abilities. She knew how busy Leng Zimo was. Although she would have liked him to be in charge of her album emotionally, she was more aware of how busy he really was, and she didn’t want to make him even busier because of her.

Now that Xu Pei could take over this job, she was genuinely delighted.

Although Zhuo Yannan and the others were somewhat surprised, they also clapped along in welcome.

”Alright, you have a meeting to attend, so I won’t disturb you!”

Leng Zimo’s gaze lingered on Luo Xiaoqian for a moment, he gave a gentle nod to everyone, and then turned to leave.

Xu Pei, holding the materials, walked to the main seat, looked at her watch, and said, ”It’s already ten o’clock, let’s get started!”

There were no introductions, no opening remarks; she went straight into work mode.

Everyone took their seats again, and Zhuo Yannan gave Little Liu a slight nod.

”Little Liu, go ahead!”

”Okay!” Little Liu booted up the computer, ”Regarding the positioning of Luo Xiaoqian’s album, our plan is to continue her style of love songs from her single, while diversifying the tracks to showcase her versatility. This plan has already been approved by President Leng. Today’s main task is the song selection process. For this album, we have selected a total of one hundred and nine original tracks. After last night’s preliminary screening, forty-nine remain. The song list is in everyone’s hands. For the song selection, following Emperor View’s usual practice, each person can cast one vote, either in support or against. Those that receive unanimous approval will enter the initial screening. If the number is not sufficient, we will make a further selection from the excluded songs. Does anyone have any questions?”

”No!”

Everyone indicated they had no questions, then each picked up the headphones on the table, put them on, and Little Liu began playing the songs.

After each song, everyone voted on the keypad, and the computer system automatically recorded the chosen songs.

Luo Xiaoqian was very focused, leaning forward as she listened to the familiar tunes in her headphones. She glanced at the song list in her hand and, indeed, saw the words ”Chance Encounter.”

After a busy afternoon yesterday, Zhuo Yannan and others had recorded several of her songs into demos and added them to the song library.
