After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 368: Chapter 369 The World is Peaceful Now

”Time to eat!”

Leng Zimo was the first to lift his bowl.

Whether at the negotiation table or in any other situation, this man, who never admitted defeat, was taking the initiative to call a truce for once.

Luo Xiaoqian let out a sigh of relief.

The world was finally quiet!

Three people ate in silence, save for the occasional clink, hardly making any noise.

As Luo Xiaoqian was almost finished with her porridge, the door was knocked on once more.

This time, a man and a woman walked in.

The man was Jiao Yang’s driver, and the woman was Ailin, who had come over from Beijing.

Both approached their respective bosses.

”President Leng, I have prepared the donations as you instructed,” Ailin said with a smile to Luo Xiaoqian, then took out the booked airplane tickets and a new mobile phone prepared especially for Leng Zimo from her bag, ”Here are your return tickets and your ID. Also, I’ve informed the board members to reschedule the board meeting to this afternoon, so you can make it in time!”

”President Jiao, the car has been checked and is problem-free, when shall we go to Yaqing Temple?” the male driver asked Jiao Yang.

Jiao Yang put down his chopsticks, ”Let’s take President Leng to the airport first, then go to Yaqing Temple.”

Jiao Yang’s trip to Sichuan had two purposes, one was to gather material for his work, and the other was to discuss a cultural project with the local government.

Just like Leng Zimo, Jiao Yang was also a workaholic in his professional life. In fact, last night he had rushed over from Ah Ba to Yaqing Temple, where, coincidentally, he encountered Luo Xiaoqian seeking help.

”There’s no need to trouble you, I can take a taxi to send him off!” Luo Xiaoqian quickly said, ”You’ve already been delayed enough because of us, your work is important.”

The two men were finally going their separate ways, and she would never let Jiao Yang take Leng Zimo again no matter what.

Jiao Yang’s gaze lingered on her face for a few seconds, catching the worry in her eyes, but he did not insist, ”What about you? Are you also returning to Beijing?”

”I still need to visit Xiao Mei, and there are some unfinished business matters,” Luo Xiaoqian replied.

”Alright then!” Jiao Yang smiled, ”I should be able to return by Tomorrow, and then we can head back to the Capital together!”

”But I’ve already booked the tickets?” Ailin turned her head, looking inquiringly at Leng Zimo.

Leng Zimo stood up and turned to Luo Xiaoqian, ”Is it okay to rebook your ticket for tonight?”

The usually autocratic man was actually asking for her opinion.

Luo Xiaoqian was taken aback, then quickly agreed, ”Okay!”

Jiao Yang stood up and extended his hand to Luo Xiaoqian, ”Well then, I’ll see you... in Beijing!”

”See you in Beijing!” Leng Zimo extended his hand first, reaching across the table to shake his palm.

Sparks flew again as the two men’s palms touched and their gazes met.

”Ahem!” Luo Xiaoqian coughed lightly, ”Gentlemen... work is important, work is crucial!”

Ailin, who had long guessed what role she was playing, hurriedly said, ”That’s right, President Leng, if we don’t leave soon, we’ll be late!”

The driver standing behind Jiao Yang also sensed the tension in the air and stepped forward, ”President Jiao, we should go too. There might be a lot of traffic on the main road, and we could get stuck in traffic!”

Luo Xiaoqian also wore a smile, ”Jiao Yang, let me first send you off!”

”No need, I wouldn’t want to ruin your image!” Jiao Yang lifted his hand and tucked a stray lock of hair behind her ear, ”Goodbye!”

His action was too quick and sudden. Luo Xiaoqian didn’t have time to dodge, and naturally, Leng Zimo was even less able to prevent it.
