After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 386: Chapter 387: The Issue of Where to Sit

Even though she was in the car, she hadn’t said a word, and Leng Zimo also felt it was a bit strange.

Xu Pei also turned her face to look at her, ”Ah, we were so engrossed in our chat that we neglected Miss Luo, I’m really sorry!”

”How could you be?” Luo Xiaoqian said with a smile of apology on her face, hurriedly shaking her head, ”Listening to you chat is pretty fun too.”

Leng Zimo wanted to say something else, but Xu Pei already touched his arm, ”Zimo, the light’s green.”

Turning back to drive, Leng Zimo didn’t forget to lift his face, looking at Luo Xiaoqian in the back seat through the rearview mirror. He saw her sitting in the back, her profile facing the window, her face alternating between light and shadow, exuding a rare trace of melancholy.

”Look over there!” Xu Pei raised her hand, pointing towards the not too distant, ”Zimo, do you remember when we were little, we even climbed that Bell Tower? That day Zirui even broke his leg...”

Leng Zimo glanced at the distant Bell Tower, ”Of course, I do.”

Xu Pei turned to look at Luo Xiaoqian in the back seat, ”Xiao Qian, you’ve met Zirui, right? You can’t imagine what the first thing that guy did after he climbed up was.”

”I... haven’t met him,” Luo Xiaoqian honestly replied.

”Is that so?!” Xu Pei was slightly taken aback but recovered quickly, ”No worries, I’ll tell you. That kid, when he got up, the first thing he didn’t do was to check his leg but to touch his face, and then he looked at Zimo like this, ’Bro, is my face ruined?’”

Her expression was quite animated and even Luo Xiaoqian couldn’t help but smile at her portrayal.

Leng Zimo saw the smile on Luo Xiaoqian’s face and let out a slight sigh of relief. He also made a rare jest, ”That guy was terrified that his face was ruined and that he wouldn’t find a beautiful wife.”

Xu Pei picked up the conversation, ”How old was he then, eight years old?”

”Seems like he was not even six, I remember I was only nine at that time, three years older than him,” Leng Zimo said.

Xu Pei slapped her forehead lightly, ”Right, I was seven, you were nine, I remembered wrong. I recall now, Zirui’s birthday is in winter, he was not even six years old yet...”

Thus, after a brief interaction with Luo Xiaoqian, Xu Pei once again took control of the conversation, talking to Leng Zimo about Zirui, and Luo Xiaoqian was once again excluded from the topic.

They hadn’t traveled far when Leng Zimo took the car off the main road and stopped at a local chain restaurant on the roadside.

The three of them got out of the car and walked into the restaurant. Since it was still early, there weren’t many people, and they easily found a private room. Inside the private room was a large round table with about ten chairs around it.

”Xiao Qian, come, take the seat of honor!” Xu Pei indicated the main seat.

Luo Xiaoqian naturally refused, ”How can that be, you should take the seat.”

”Don’t be so formal with ’you this, you that’, just call me by my name like Zimo does,” Xu Pei shrugged her shoulders, ”Xiao Qian refuses to take the seat, Zimo, will you sit there?”

Leng Zimo was pulled to the main seat by her, and Xu Pei naturally sat on his right side. Luo Xiaoqian checked the bag placed on the chair on Leng Zimo’s left, intending to sit in the seat next to him, but Xu Pei had already patted the empty seat on her right, ”Xiao Qian, come, sit with us!”

Before Luo Xiaoqian could move, Leng Zimo’s hand had already reached across the chair, grabbing her wrist, ”Sit next to me.”

His fingers gripped tightly, his tone was calm yet carried an unmistakable note of authority. Luo Xiaoqian sent an apologetic smile to Xu Pei, moved the handbag from the chair, and sat beside him.
