After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 377: Chapter 378: Album

The elevator stopped at the eighteenth floor, and the two of them arrived at Zhuo Yannan’s team’s office together.

In the small meeting room, Zhuo Yannan and others were all present, with music playing in the room as the work team was listening to song selections sent over from the song library, looking for one that would suit Luo Xiaoqian.

”I’m sorry, I’m late!” Luo Xiaoqian apologized sincerely.

Zhuo Yannan gestured to Xiao Zhou to turn off the music, ”It’s okay. You just got back from out of town, and you should rest. This is just the preliminary selection. You don’t need to participate until the shortlist is drawn up!”

Luo Xiaoqian took a seat next to Yu Tong, and Xiao Zhou handed over a song list, ”Currently, we’ve selected fifty songs. The style is noted behind each one. Now we can discuss the style and positioning of this album.”

Looking at the song list in her hand, Luo Xiaoqian hesitated for a moment, ”Can I add the songs I’ve written to this list?”

Everyone at the table was somewhat surprised.

”Your songs?” There was surprise in Zhuo Yannan’s voice.

”I... I’m just asking. Of course, I’ll follow the company’s arrangements!” Luo Xiaoqian hastily said.

”Xiao Qian, you’ve got it all wrong!” Detecting her unease, Zhuo Yannan smiled excitedly, ”We just didn’t expect you to have new works so soon. This is your album, and the songs you write yourself will certainly be more profound. If there are works that fit this album, we would prefer to choose the ones you’ve written.”

”Exactly!” Xiao Zhou took up the conversation, ”Your single was self-composed, and we did a survey among fans. They all look forward to more of your works. Following the character of your single, we’re still focusing on love songs for this album, with a variety of musical styles. If you have any suitable works, just bring them over and we’ll all listen together.”

”I didn’t record any demos, but I did bring the scores,” said Luo Xiaoqian, glancing at everyone, ”Is that okay?!”

”Of course!”

Everyone showed expressions of anticipation.

That piece, ”Dropping Lip,” was Luo Xiaoqian’s work, and the composition had received unanimous praise. They were all looking forward to more surprises from Luo Xiaoqian.

Opening her bag, she took out a stack of scores, flipped through them, and then handed over several pages.

”These are some I’ve written recently; they’re all love songs, I suppose, though I haven’t revised them yet. Please don’t laugh.”

Zhuo Yannan passed the scores to Xiao Zhou, who took them and, glancing at the pages, began to hum softly,

”Because inadvertently, you pass through the lines of my life, disrupting my strings,

...

I am merely an occasional backdrop in your life, yet you are the brightest stroke in mine.”

Everyone was utterly engrossed.

This first one was the very song Luo Xiaoqian had written on the night she prepared to leave Leng Zimo, titled ”Occasional Encounter.”

”Xiao Qian, what’s the name of this song?” Zhuo Yannan turned around and asked earnestly.

”’Occasional Encounter,’” Luo Xiaoqian replied.

”The lyrics are very touching, and the melody is so poignant...” Noticing Yu Tong sitting beside her, Zhuo Yannan looked over in confusion, ”Yu Tong, what’s the matter?”

”Ah, it’s nothing...” Yu Tong took off her glasses, wiping the corners of her eyes, ”Just that the song is quite moving. I believe it will be a hit when it’s released!”

”Oh my, this is awesome. Listen to this...” Xiao Zhou called out again in surprise, then sang the melody from another score she had flipped to, ”The Buddha says: From love arises sorrow, and from love arises fear. If one is free from love, one is free from sorrow and fear.”
