After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 352: Chapter 353: I Send You

”President Leng went to the school we were rushing to. Xiao Qian, that girl, once she heard we couldn’t reach him, she went crazy. Seeing her like that, she’s almost certainly going back to look for President Leng!” Yu Tong briefly explained the situation, hurrying after Luo Xiaoqian, ”Xiao Qian, calm down. It’s too dangerous to go now....”

Jiao Yang frowned and then quickly started running down the stairs, catching up to Yu Tong. They dashed through the hospital exit, and he reached out to grab Luo Xiaoqian, who was about to rush down the steps, pulling her back to the sheltered porch where the rain couldn’t reach.

”Have you lost your mind? If he’s in trouble, rushing over like this won’t help at all, and if he’s fine, then taking such a risk to go there is utterly pointless!”

”Yes, Xiao Qian!” Yu Tong also ran over, gasping for breath, ”Wait for the rain to let up a little. When it gets light, we’ll immediately find a car and head over. President Leng is with the troops, so surely nothing will happen to him. It’s probably just that his phone’s run out of battery, or there’s no signal in the mountains. If he finds Hope Primary School and hears our news from Xiao Zhou, he will definitely hurry back. Then, he’ll naturally get in touch with us.”

Luo Xiaoqian understood what they were saying. She also believed that he was safe for now, but she knew his temperament all too well.

Now that they couldn’t contact him by phone, if he got to the school and didn’t see her, he would definitely look for her. And if he couldn’t find her, he definitely wouldn’t give up.

Waiting here meant letting him search for her in dangerous conditions. She felt uneasy, couldn’t bear it, and couldn’t do it.

”I’m not acting on impulse. I’m very calm right now. This time, I must go!” Luo Xiaoqian pushed away Yu Tong’s grasping hand, ”He won’t come back until he sees me!”

Yu Tong, realizing the implication of her words, stood frozen in shock, not knowing how to persuade her.

Jiao Yang’s gaze fell on Luo Xiaoqian’s face, and he spoke in a low voice, ”Are you sure you want to go?”

Luo Xiaoqian turned to him with a smile, ”Don’t worry, I’ll pay you back your money!”

He knew she was joking, but looking at the smile on her face, Jiao Yang felt as if his heart was pricked by that smile.

”Let’s go!” He turned and walked down the steps, striding into the storm, ”I’ll take you!”

”Hey! Jiao Yang....”

Luo Xiaoqian hurried after him, but Jiao Yang was already opening the door of the SUV parked not far away, pushing the driver out, and taking the driver’s seat himself. Glancing at Luo Xiaoqian as she ran towards him, he turned the ignition.

”Either we both go, or neither of us goes!”

His tone, a rare seriousness and depth, was a great departure from the usual frivolous and lazy Jiao Yang.

”You....” Luo Xiaoqian held on to the car door, ”Jiao Yang, this isn’t your problem. You don’t have to....”

This was her problem, and he didn’t need to risk himself with her.

”At this time, you won’t be able to catch a cab!” Jiao Yang pulled the car door shut, turned to her, and gave her a devilish smile, ”Didn’t you say I’m an Angel? With me here, God will also look after you. Get in!”

The command to ”get in” sounded vastly different from what he’d said before, carrying a domineering air not unlike that of Leng Zimo, making it impossible to refuse.

Bang!

The car door closed tight.

Luo Xiaoqian peered through the car window at Jiao Yang in the driver’s seat and hurried to the other side to sit in the passenger seat, promptly buckling her seatbelt.

”Just take me to the intersection. I can walk the rest myself!”

Jiao Yang didn’t reply but slowly pressed the gas pedal, driving the car out of the hospital.

Good night, and there’s an appointment tomorrow evening, so I’m not sure if I’ll update at dawn. Better not wait.
