I Am Your Natural Enemy

The ghosts in front of us clearly didn’t become like this post-autopsy but must have been alive before ending up this way.

Wen Yan pushed open the door of the factory existing in the present world and lifted the thick plastic curtain there.

Inside, he saw that makeshift plastic drapes had divided the space into several partitions, with some of them housing various instruments.

He pulled back one of the curtains and saw a person lying on a surgical table, their body crudely opened and their skin partially removed, their chest a blood-soaked mess. Even Wen Yan, an outsider, could see that something inside was missing.

Next to him, the instruments indicated that the person hadn’t entirely breathed their last, their heart still struggling to beat, wavering weaker and weaker.

Until the monitor displayed a straight line, a slightly harsh warning sound piercing the air.

Immediately following that, Wen Yan saw on the other side of the intersection, in the dark world, the newly deceased’s soul appearing aimlessly, hung onto machines like cattle waiting for slaughter on an assembly line.

After going through the cycle, those broken ghosts were discarded into a final channel, leading who-knows-where.

Wen Yan watched, his face full of shock. He’d heard tales of organ harvesting but never thought they needed the skin here too.

Literal skinning and bone disassembly, seamlessly connected due to the peculiar geographical features here, not even sparing the soul.

They even turned it all into an assembly line.

No wonder there were so many defense measures here, not only armed guards but also means to defend against ghosts.

No, it wasn’t to defend against ghosts from outside but to prevent the ghosts inside from escaping.

Wen Yan lightly drew a breath, took out his phone, and began recording a video.

He opened up one makeshift plastic curtain operating room after another, discovering that nearly every table had a person on it, some dead, some still alive.

Those still alive were nearly dead, beyond saving, some missing organs, only kept alive by force from machines to prevent full cessation of breathing.

After recording, Wen Yan stepped out of this factory-like building and continued to check the next one.

Looking at those lost souls, the accumulated resentment almost burning, Wen Yan truly didn’t want to interfere, nor could he.

Conscious of one lost soul, atop a car, finding a corpse with even its corneas removed, bursting into wailing, transforming on the spot into a fierce ghost.

The sky’s thick black clouds erupted with thunder suddenly, streaks of lightning illuminating.

The changes in the weather became more and more evident.

Wen Yan scrutinized the chaotic situation, extending a finger to use his nail to deflect a stray bullet.

After some contemplation, he sent the video he just recorded to Feng Yao, adding videos of the ghost assembly line, then included an exterior panorama video.

He genuinely wanted to make a decision, but representing Fuyu Mountain and the Divine Land, things had already reached a limit by causing this commotion; making a larger decision wasn’t something he could do solo.

He was very calm yet extremely furious. What ghostly place was this? What kind of hellhole had it become, worse even than before Spiritual Qi Resurgence, utterly decayed.

His phone rang, the signal interference heavy, Feng Yao’s voice imbued with fear.

”Brother, my Brother, what did you discover? What are you planning to do?”

”It’s not about what I plan to do, rather what those lost souls intend to do.

You should know, the resentment in those lost souls has reached such an extent, and yet they haven’t turned into fierce ghosts, exhibiting extreme restraint.

But just now, I saw a lost soul here discovering their relative’s corpse, turning into a fierce ghost immediately.

On this side, I’ve found not only yellow-skinned people but also white-skinned people, some even in military attire.

Moreover, this place is a crossover point.

A fixed juncture between this world and another.

You saw the video, right?

You saw the ground teeming with little demons, right?

You should understand what this signifies.

If the assembly line brings harm, it’s just a malicious event.

But this place is inevitably entangled with the upper echelons of the Nanyang Union.

And some individuals have already colluded with the other side.

In the Divine Land, we exhaustingly maintained strict borders, to little avail.

Elsewhere, they’re not letting things rot; instead, they’re contemplating how to seize this opportunity for their benefit.

They never considered what they might be unleashing.

No wonder there’s a profusion of demons, increasingly active, almost in the open.

It’s uncertain how far things have developed.

Report back up; this is beyond your ability to decide.”

Feng Yao was silent for a moment, said nothing, and directly dashed to his office to use a private line to contact above.

Less than two minutes later, before the emergency meeting at the General Director’s front conference room, the General Director first dialed Wen Yan.

”Do whatever you need; any actions you take have my verbal approval.”

After finishing, the General Director entered the conference room; the video conference had already shown over a dozen people, including individuals frequently seen on television and the Old Celestial Master, all there.

After taking a seat, the General Director first announced his preemptive authorization for personnel in the Southern Sea to act expediently.

Everyone remained silent, and after a few seconds, someone asked.

”Let’s first talk about what happened?”

The General Director played the video, narrating the current situation alongside, concluding with a resolute tone.
