I Am Your Natural Enemy

The Soul Body was riddled with countless holes, big and small. Even though it was still a Soul Body, one of its arms could no longer take the form it had in life, reduced to mere bones.

Wen Yan pulled the child out, extended a hand, and placed it on his head, bestowing a bit of Yang Energy on him.

”I don’t know your name, but I guess you haven’t committed any particularly grave sins.

Nowhere in the world should a child be buried alive with an adult for the mistakes they made.

To die painfully over several days and, after death, for the soul not to be liberated, but instead turned into nourishment.”

The child’s soul blankly stared at him, its Spiritual Intelligence nearly destroyed, with not hatred, but confusion, filling the resentment on it.

Wen Yan thought of going and beating those sorcerers to death; it seemed a bit too much of a compliment for those guys.

So, he had some other ideas.

He looked toward the forest, which was actually quite beautiful, bathed in blood-red color.

”I don’t know what you’re called, nor am I sure if you can understand.

But I think, among you, there should be someone who can understand, right?

Even if you can’t understand, you should sense what I’m trying to express, right?

So, I’ll give you a name; from now on, you are all called Avengers.

If you are willing, respond in a moment.

I can pull you out from here, but first, let’s set some ground rules.

First, only do what should be done, control your resentment.

Second, after everything is over, I will help you transcend.

If you think it’s acceptable, then respond to my call.”

Wen Yan placed a hand on the child’s head, muttering softly, conveying his meaning.

Then, he stomped a foot, and a Golden Light Avenue extended from beneath his feet.

”Avengers.”

He called, and the next moment, he saw white banners emerging from the ground on both sides of the Golden Light Avenue, standing proudly.

The avenue cut through the entire Crimson Forest, hesitating slightly, as if unsure of how to proceed.

The next moment, branches appeared on the Golden Light Avenue, like a golden tree, constantly spreading its branches over the earth.

Amidst the brilliant golden glow, Lost Souls of varying degrees of disrepair emerged from the ground, following the path of golden light.

Countless Lost Souls came forth, with each tree bearing at least five or six souls, and some carrying up to a dozen.

And in this blood-colored forest, roughly estimated, there were a total of two to three hundred trees.

Responding to Wen Yan’s call, the dense assembly of Lost Souls accepted the name he gave them.

A mass of Lost Souls converged, and in that instant, a chill wind filled the air, an eerie Yin Qi pervaded, and the resentment that had been unable to be released from being bound underground began to swell exponentially.

Wen Yan watched silently, saying nothing.

If any of the summoned Lost Souls were consumed by resentment, left with only the thought of destruction, unable to reach a consensus with the rest here, and if the Power of the other Lost Souls could not sway them.

Wen Yan would abandon his original plan and transcend them on the spot.

Seeing this, he felt that ignoring it would leave things incomplete, unfinished.

He still wanted to give it a try.

Wen Yan waited for a while, estimating over a thousand Lost Souls had emerged, their resentment was strong, and there was brief chaos, but soon, all the Lost Souls stood there, quietly watching, quietly waiting.

Wen Yan smiled, gently patting the head of the child Lost Soul beside him, reaching out to hold his hand, and began to walk forward.

”Let’s go.”

As he started to step forward, all the resentment-filled, battered Lost Souls turned, moving toward the target together.

Uncle Ming followed behind Wen Yan, watching his back, a complex emotion in his eyes.

He hadn’t expected that Wen Yan not only could do it but actually dared to do it.

Summoning nearly two thousand resentment-filled Lost Souls in one go.

Is he really not afraid that these Lost Souls would go berserk once they came out?

But at this moment, watching the crowd of damaged Soul Bodies full of sky-high resentment proceed towards the front, amidst the chaotic Power, there was a sense of order.

Honestly, he’d never seen anything like it before.

And it was still daytime.

In the sky, dark clouds loomed, the wind began to blow, and rain was about to start pouring down.

The sky was darker than before, black as if it were about to turn into night.

Wen Yan left with a large assembly of Lost Souls, surrounded by a chill wind and resentment, and those receiving them at the rear came up, looking at the fallen tree and the bones wrapped in its roots, their expressions changing, turning blue and white.

”Captain, should we...?” someone nearby asked.

”Should what? If you have the skills, go ahead, I’m powerless, I can’t handle it anymore.” The leading reception stood in place, already giving up.

Even in the distance, someone was holding a phone, taking pictures of the fallen tree pit, and the leader couldn’t even be bothered to care.

The team looked at each other, looked at the tree pit, and surmised what was beneath other such pits.

Moreover, there was no need to guess, given the vast number of gathered Lost Souls, each filled with sky-high resentment, this was indeed their place of demise.

In such a situation, even ordinary people, if their spiritual sensitivity was just a tad higher than normal, they could see the Lost Souls with the naked eye.

At least a quarter to a third of the people here could already see them.

Clearly, the reception leader who received Wen Yan understood this was no longer something they could intervene in.
