I Am Your Natural Enemy

In mid-air, the sorcerer was screaming something in the local dialect, and even if you didn’t understand, you could tell it wasn’t words of congratulations or anything good.

Watching the other party being completely torn apart and dissipating, the fragments shredded by the overwhelming resentment here, Wen Yan looked around again and prepared to leave.

But the more than two thousand lost souls here still surrounded him, and one somewhat conscious soul stepped forward, clumsily speaking in the Divine Land language.

Wen Yan listened, and finally understood that many of them had come from elsewhere, sold here like cargo to the sorcerer.

When they were alive, they were merely goods traded between sorcerers or head teachers.

Wen Yan took out his phone, checked the target list, randomly asked about the nearest one here, and immediately two to thirty conscious souls indicated they were sold here by this sorcerer.

”Since that’s the case, let’s continue then.”

Wen Yan, holding the little child’s soul he first brought out, prepared to turn and leave when some souls flew over, carrying various items.

From the skulls of strange creatures to various documents, Wen Yan glanced at them.

Oh dear, there were also account books and diaries. Definitely not proper people.

He asked those souls to carry them, and thus turned toward the harbor, with over two thousand souls behind him, shrouded in yin qi and resentment, following him as he departed.

When Wen Yan returned to that blood-colored forest, the area had already been sealed off, and all the security forces on the island had been mobilized, merely to prevent anyone from approaching and digging up other trees.

The person receiving Wen Yan, seeing him holding a little soul with a large group behind him, turned pale.

He dared not even approach, fearing the souls filled with resentment might tear him apart alive.

They remained at a distance, watching Wen Yan return to the dock, board a ship with a mass of souls, and leave. Only then did the receiver breathe a sigh of relief, take out his phone, and make a call.

He truthfully reported what he saw, and after that, it was no longer of his concern; let it be as it is.

And shortly after Wen Yan boarded the ship, he received a call from Feng Yao.

Seeing it was Feng Yao and not the General Director or anyone from Headquarters, Wen Yan relaxed much.

”What’s up?”

”We can afford to be a little arrogant occasionally, so they understand the point, but weren’t you being just a tad bit too arrogant?”

”Don’t talk nonsense; what’s it got to do with me? I was merely present by chance!”

Wen Yan sent over a few photos with a swift flick.

”See that? What a tragic and inhumane incident; it’s the spirits here avenging their brutal deaths.

It’s just that their target coincidentally was also my target.

I hadn’t even reasoned with that sorcerer before he was torn apart by the spirits.

As we all know, I’m merely a martial artist, not even capable of soul summoning ceremonies.

Summoning over two thousand souls with overwhelming grievances at once and having them obey me.

Where do I have such powers?

Who is slandering me, trying to pin this on me?”

”...” Feng Yao paused and asked: ”Has the General Director already called you?”

”Nope, why?”

”Earlier, when Headquarters was conversing with those from Nanyang, they criticized the contacting party for being utterly ignorant.

Was it an intentional ploy to blame Divine Land wrongly and throw dirt?

Too disgraceful.

You’re a pure martial artist, everyone knows.

Moreover, you are certified by the Old Celestial Master, someone with no cultivation talent, only martial arts talent.”

”They outright denied this being connected to me?” Wen Yan thought. That was quick.

”No, they merely stated the undeniable facts plainly.” Feng Yao stated honestly; the Scorching Sun Department hadn’t outright denied, but sarcastically suggested the other party lacked education and common sense.

Clearly, this had no relation to a martial artist.

Anyone with some sense knows.

”...”

Wen Yan looked at the heap of souls on the boat, pondering.

”Has the pawnshop people still not reacted?”

”Nope, pretending to be dead.

Today, an investor from Nanyang came, allegedly to invest in Nanwu County.

Moreover, the investment is aimed at the north, which is poorly developed in Nanwu County.

We investigated, and this chap might be the one sent with money from over there.

Furthermore, we discovered someone trying to speak for Old Meng.

The speaking person is from the Northeast, knows Old Meng, probably not an issue.

We deduce someone behind the scenes is pushing him to speak, using him as a pawn.”

”Anything else?”

”Apart from catching some flimsy demons, ghosts hoping to pawn for fifty thousand. Unfortunately, their skills were pathetic.”

”Alright, has your intelligence focused on the remaining sorcerers and head teachers on the list? Don’t let them escape.”

”Previously they were surely not fearful, probably didn’t expect that two youngsters from the Three Mountains and Five Ridges would smash them up, now there’s indeed the possibility they’ll flee.”

”Has Yan Zhikong cleaned up any?”

”Two already; almost catching up to the third.”

Wen Yan paused; why is this guy so quick!?

”Do you have any contacts over there? Spread some irresponsible rumors to Nanyang.”

”Go ahead.”

”Give them the list and say those souls are seeking vengeance.

Tell them truthfully what those souls experienced in their lifetimes.

I’ve managed to convince, at great length, those souls filled with resentment not to involve ordinary people.”
