I Am Your Natural Enemy

Yan Zhikong looked at the driver, who had a look of ”I don’t understand, but I’m deeply shocked,” and kindly explained.

”Daoist skill is Dao, mathematics is Dao, physics is also Dao, compassion is Dao too. The way of Dao follows nature with no such restrictions.”

”But...”

”Master, your thinking might be a bit shackled. Who said trajectories can’t be Dao?”

The driver was deeply shocked, as if he understood a tiny bit about Dao for the first time.

He drove Yan Zhikong all the way to the border of the realm below and was reluctant to part.

Yan Zhikong was easy-going, even advising him not to be too harsh on his children, as long as they remain on the right path, so-called success is just about not having found the right path for themselves yet.

”Farewell, Taoist priest. Once you arrive over there, others will take over. I can’t casually cross the border line.”

”Thank you for your hard work, Master. Here is a list of videos I watched when self-studying. I’ve noted down the names. When you return, you can give them to your children. I think it would be of help.”

Yan Zhikong handed a piece of paper to the driver, detailing teachers and course contents for the study programs.

”Thank you, Taoist priest.”

Watching Yan Zhikong leave, the driver drove home, now feeling that this piece of paper was more precious than a talisman.

Upon returning home, he first took a photo to save a backup, then handed the paper to his children.

”You can watch and learn from these videos. A very impressive person gave this to me.

If you can learn well from them, it will definitely be greatly helpful.

If you excel, I can find someone to help you study abroad at a good school in the Divine Land.

If you really cannot learn from it, and have interests in something else, I will help you explore those options later.

Going to the Divine Land to learn a skill wouldn’t be bad either.”

The driver’s children were somewhat surprised; their father seemed much more easy-going today, not forcing them to study.

The driver didn’t explain, his heart indeed felt much more at peace.

Having truly met an extraordinary genius, he realized that some things couldn’t be forced.

...

Wen Yan looked at his phone, feeling a sense of awe.

Yan Zhikong’s speed of taking action was incredibly fast.

He dealt with a sorcerer so decisively and efficiently, and he had absolutely ample justification.

Why was that sorcerer so arrogant, daring to attack upfront and even take sneaky shots directly aiming to kill—wasn’t that just giving someone leverage?

Wen Yan stood on the deck, gazing into the distance, beginning to see traces of land.

Nearby, some ships were starting to appear, hovering from afar, not daring to approach.

Wen Yan waved at those water ghosts, and the several sunken ships accompanying him gradually submerged into the sea surface and disappeared.

Only the Dahlia remained afloat.

Wen Yan did not let the Dahlia dock; he had eight Great Zombies guarding the Dahlia while he took a deformed corpse and, on a small boat, headed towards the land.

Uncle Ming opened his mouth, and a gust of eerie wind appeared, swirling around the small boat, propelling it toward the shore.

He looked at the map, checking the marked location; the sorcerer he was looking for was on this island.

Once ashore, the surrounding people had been dispersed, and a few individuals endowed with some peculiar powers approached.

One among them, with a stern face, spoke in broken Nanwu language.

”You can’t bring different races here.”

Wen Yan, not waiting for translation, his face darkened.

”You mean I, someone from Fuyu Mountain, cannot bring Great Zombies, right?”

A person immediately stepped forward and pulled the speaker back.

”Misunderstanding, misunderstanding, not what we meant, you certainly can bring them.

Our point is, you were attacked, which was an accident.

It’s not related to us; we have arranged a plane for you, and you can depart anytime.”

”I’m afraid of heights and don’t take planes; I came here to take a break and visit someone, then I’ll head out. Excuse me, is Master Chen on this island? I’d like to visit, to consult about some matters face to face.”

”This...” The person in charge of reception looked troubled.

”If it’s inconvenient, never mind, I’ll have someone else drop by next time.”

”This... please wait a moment, I need to report this.” The escort couldn’t help but sweat as he hurriedly sent the message up.

Wen Yan was not in a rush, just waiting there.

He represented Fuyu Mountain, represented the Divine Land, treating people kindly, but his actions must never let others feel he was weak.

These guys outside might not understand that kindness does not equate to weakness; they would only think you’re easy-going, willing to step back one step, means they would want you to step back ten more.

This time coming, nicely put, was a righteous act; bluntly speaking, it was to fight.

Having an excuse to openly eliminate those sorcerers, now, let’s see if those behind the sorcerers can really hold it in.

According to previous speculations, here in Nanyang, sorcerers, Fateless Pawnshop, gold foil chocolate, are all part of a perfectly functioning money-cheating assembly line.

Sorcerers were the front-line workers openly operating.

He wanted to see how those executors for maximum benefit behind would act, whether they would show themselves.

The receptionist passed the message back.

In that room, a young big boss listened to the old man’s report, furrowing his brow.

”What exactly do they intend to do?”

”It should be establishing dominance, plus revenge, possibly because of exposure of the mole in Nanwu County discovered by them earlier.

Of course, it could rather be that the previously rejected Taoists of high status felt humiliated, and this is the younger generation helping them vent.

Boss, aren’t we intervening?

Master Chen over there had quite good performance this year.”

Just as he spoke, the old man looked at the phone in his hand, his expression changing slightly.

”Boss, that Wen Yan has already entered the island; he said he’s been eroded by evil anomalies.”

...

Wen Yan stepped one step forward, a distance of over a dozen meters, and when he crossed the flat area near the port and entered the hilly terrain, it was as if the earth underfoot turned into waves, supporting him moving forward, covering a distance of thirty to forty meters in one step.

He made his way into the mountain, looking at the crimson forest ahead, red like it was stained with blood.

He reached out his hand, touching a tree; a trace of red appeared in his palm, and shortly after, that red gradually vanished.

He felt some power seeping into him, penetrating his blood.

Just as it seeped in, those things were forcibly crushed by his internal power.

After carefully sensing it, Wen Yan opened his eyes, thinking to himself, it’s definitely here; he’s underestimated these sorcerers’ blatant audacity.

The cultivated things were so blatantly displayed outside.

Luckily, he arrived quickly; had he been a bit later, when Yan Zhikong arrived, he might not have been able to claim the kill.

Uncle Ming walked to a red tree, kicking it out, and the power passed into the tree, seemingly transmitting underground, toppling the tree with its roots.

Underneath the tree roots lay densely packed bones, as well as two uncompletely decayed corpses, both pierced and wrapped by the roots.

Uncle Ming, seeing this sight, was also somewhat shocked.

”No wonder there’s so much evil anomaly in Nanyang; in the Divine Land, no one would dare do this, they’d have reincarnated countless times by now.”
