I Am Your Natural Enemy

If not, common people really aren’t qualified to investigate matters related to him, and those with the qualifications wouldn’t bother offending him.

His relationship with Wei Jing is very straightforward right now; Wei Jing opened a clinic not far from his home, and he brings people there for medical treatment.

They’ve gotten familiar with each other; sending some food to try is quite normal.

But that’s all there is to it.

He doesn’t ask, nor does he probe into Wei Jing’s background. He also knows that Wei Jing came to this small town to open a clinic, being so low-key, surely doesn’t want any overt connections with the Scorching Sun Department.

Wen Yan doesn’t ask why; all he needs to do is respect a person’s choice.

If the Scorching Sun Department has any special patients, if Wen Yan intervenes, bringing patients directly to the clinic becomes a logical scenario.

This is Wei Jing running the clinic, with patients coming to the door.

If Wen Yan hands over Wei Jing’s information to the Scorching Sun Department, that’s another matter, with a different nature.

Feng Yao surely understands why Wen Yan doesn’t want to speak about it, or even why he doesn’t want to touch this topic at all.

On the way back, Feng Yao thought about it for a moment, then put the matter behind him, tacitly not bringing it up again.

Meanwhile, Wei Jing opened the door, witnessing Feng Yao’s car, with multiple layers of protection evidently added, passing by on the street, the driver not even glancing at his clinic.

Wei Jing smiled too, now he understands why he felt Wen Yan so relaxed and casual during their interactions, while he himself couldn’t ease up.

The people of the Scorching Sun Department must hardly notice his clinic at all.

With the strength of the Scorching Sun Department, as long as he involved himself in some events, logically, he would surely be noticed.

Why he’s unnoticed now, Wei Jing can only guess it’s related to Wen Yan.

He somewhat understood now why divination had advised him against randomly moving houses before.

He lowered his head and continued to handle the herbs, deciding not to dwell on the matter further.

On the other side, when it was almost time to leave, Wen Yan personally cooked again, preparing a meal for everyone at home.

As usual, it was a meal with all sorts of foods, and once finished, as night fell, Wen Yan worshipped the revered figures enshrined in the basement before packing his things and heading out.

He made a covert journey through the Nether Path to the Cape of the Sea in Southern Sea County, preparing to set off from here.

He didn’t alert the people from the Scorching Sun Department, nor did he follow the usual procedures. According to Feng Yao’s documents, he’s recorded as having already cleared customs today.

Entering the water at the sea edge of Cape of the Sea, Wen Yan was led by the Gray Cloth, diving effortlessly in the sea, releasing a bit of Yang Energy after swimming a certain distance.

For some, his Yang Energy was like a lighthouse in the night, exceptionally conspicuous.

Before long, they saw a shipwreck festooned with seaweed and covered with barnacles quietly approaching from the seabed.

Standing at the ship’s bow was a Ghost with a long knife hanging from his waist, behind him stood a dense arrangement of Water Ghosts.

All the Water Ghosts raised their heads, gazing at Wen Yan floating in the water, and as they neared, a group of Ghosts uniformly paid their respects.

”Greetings, Star Lord!”

Wen Yan gently landed on the shipwreck.

”No need for such formality, I’m no Star Lord. We are kindred spirits, each fulfilling our own duties.”

A few aged Ghosts immediately became excited.

In the Divine Land, this phrase signifies extremely respectful praise.

Family or neighbors may not be trustworthy, but people who hold a common ambition in their hearts and are willing to work towards it together are certainly reliable.

Previously, Wen Yan erased certain vocational traits from some Ghosts and painted a vision for other Water Ghosts, according to what the Scorching Sun Department discussed; these Water Ghosts had essentially become an unignorable power around this part of Southern Sea.

The few personnel from the Southern Sea County Scorching Sun Department, even if all were deployed to the sea, spread over a two-thousand-kilometer long and more than a thousand-kilometer wide sea area, is akin to casting a handful of sand into the ocean.

Whether they patrol or stand guard, the impact is indeed much lesser compared to these Water Ghosts who are entirely suited for fighting in their home territory.

Recently a shipwreck wandered around Southern Sea, inevitably being noticed by some, causing a halt to the troubles brought by those coming here lately.

At least live people understand that once you dive into the sea, you’re unquestionably in an away game.

Wen Yan observed the Water Ghosts, each brimming with spirit, with eyes that are resolute, a look that emerges only when one has been engaged in a task and firmly believes their undertaking is definitively righteous and is already being put into action.

This realization led Wen Yan to think of Southern Sea first when he planned to head to Nanyang.

Since he painted the vision, he couldn’t just leave it unattended—he had to make sure they truly experience the vision.

Especially with the second batch of Water Ghosts now, they might still have some hesitations, but he had to step forward.

Wen Yan glanced at the deck, noticeable cleaning traces could be seen, obviously tidied up during the journey upon sensing his Yang Energy.

Wen Yan cupped his hands, smiling as he spoke.

”I ask for your understanding, I’ve been quite occupied with tasks lately, haven’t found the time to come by and visit.

For this task heading to Nanyang, I specifically brought it forward a few days earlier to make an initial visit and see all of you in Southern Sea.

I’ve heard about what you’ve accomplished and have already proposed suggestions to the Scorching Sun Department.

Whether it matters to you, I won’t concern myself.

However, since you’ve done good deeds, I will indeed bring it to the Scorching Sun Department’s attention, one matter at a time.”

Upon saying this, a few Ghosts promptly expressed they wouldn’t dare and said it’s only right.
