I Am Your Natural Enemy

As everyone knows, the larger the operation, the more manpower needs to be mobilized, the more it tests the basic organizational ability and frontline execution efficiency, and the difficulty of logistical challenges also increases exponentially.

When an operation or mission is declared over and wrapping up begins, if the momentum is lost, it’s difficult to regain it.

Especially at this time, when everyone’s been pushing themselves to the brink during the late hours.

Momentum diminishes, first strong, then weak, and finally exhausted. Those trained individuals have undergone long-term cooperation and adaptation.

Ordinary people are already exhausted after the initial burst.

This is the situation in Nanyang now.

Not to mention the entire Nanyang Union, it’s just a loose organization; even pulling out an individual member country alone, internally, it still feels like a ramshackle setup.

With a common enemy, you can still suppress everyday conflicts.

When the mission ends and the united task disappears, everyone thinks about how to preserve their own interests.

Of course, some leaders might know that in the long term, this is more harmful than beneficial.

But to gain such a significant interest, it must be a large consortium. Are those below you willing to look at the long term? Are your opponents willing?

No solution. It’s not that no one sees it, but within their gameplay, if they don’t want to perish now, they have to follow the playbook.

Thousands of Lost Souls, each like a hedgehog, have disappeared under some people’s arrangements.

Many frontline people receiving the message directly went home, each finding their own way; they came to work overtime during the late hours only for the sake of money.

The aftermath? Let’s talk about it tomorrow; go home and get some sleep first. Does the foolish boss not need to rest?

In this situation, Wen Yan, holding the Everbright Lamp from Mount Li, appeared carrying thousands of Lost Souls fueled by grievances on another island 1,700 kilometers away.

It was precisely a trap set by someone with some skills in Nanyang.

The story Yan Zhikong told was something taught to him by the big shot from Mount Laojun, along with solid evidence proving it true.

So, when Wen Yan, carrying the ”Nevermore Lost”, led the way, in addition to the legitimate identification triggered by the Everbright Lamp of Mount Li and thousands of Lost Souls completing the activation.

The path that was already paid for was inevitably walkable.

Nearing the seaside, the foggy atmosphere, when Wen Yan led the Army of Lost Souls, perfectly blended into the local environment.

Wen Yan passed out of the highly disrupted area, his phone connected to signal, no need to call, the Scorching Sun Department knew he was fine.

Now, it’s time to see what those people in Nanyang fear.

Why, even after the sorcerers here were transcended by Yan Zhikong, do they still set up the same protective measures as several other places?

On that previous island, there might be similar setups.

However, Wen Yan thought if they barged through so aggressively, perhaps the other side would act desperately; better take a turn first, let them relax their guard and switch to this island.

Here, the sorcerers have already kicked the bucket, and the corresponding defenses must be gone too, should be the easiest.

Wen Yan held his phone, a message popped up, from the Black Box.

The Black Box said the General Director asked if he was alright?

Wen Yan replied something to the Black Box, no problem, accidentally fell onto the Nether Path, luckily those Lost Souls returned.

On the other hand, the General Director looked at the message from the Black Box and sighed in relief.

He always felt Wen Yan was a bit of a troublemaker, Wen Yan’s style was indeed not very suitable to join the Scorching Sun Department, because sometimes this side’s procedures are too demanding for stability.

And Wen Yan, every time does things that make people feel their heart race.

Leading the Army of Lost Souls over the Nether Path, this guy really has the guts, not afraid of getting lost inside and never returning.

With Wen Yan confirmed safe, the corresponding strategy would undergo slight adjustments.

From yesterday to today, the General Director has held three small meetings, few participants, not reaching ten at the peak.

But the major direction has almost been set, any adjustments are just minor tweaks.

The extent of Nanyang’s collapse far exceeded the expectations of the Scorching Sun Department, far beyond the expectations of the Divine Land’s upper echelons.

Of course, everyone is used to it, this isn’t the first time they’ve encountered such a situation, overestimating outsiders’ rationality, overestimating some outsiders’ wisdom, overestimating their methods and choices...

Back then, Comrade Li couldn’t figure something out even after thinking for ten days and nights, it’s normal if nobody can.

Thus, various preemptive plans were made, from the most ideal situation to the possibility that the opponent’s head is full of lunatic schemes, all considered, all with corresponding preemptive plans.

When facing issues, corresponding preemptive plans, with slight adjustments, can respond rapidly.

This time is no different, the Scorching Sun Department just prepared the preemptive plan yesterday, and Wen Yan already upped the intensity for them.

This side has already begun with disputes, actions have started.

Similarly, based on the existing foundation, preemptive plans for a worst-case scenario of Nanyang collapsing even more severely than anticipated are being prepared.

Amid turbulent tides, Wen Yan already led thousands of Lost Souls, under the cover of mist, forging a path to locations indicated by some Lost Souls.

Thousands of Lost Souls, in reality, the initial dead count, at least tripled.
