”Xiaofei, are you really not afraid of Liu Guangrong, the county party secretary?” Seeing Chen Fei speak with such measured and resounding confidence, Aunt Deng couldn’t help but waver. That’s right, why should we let those bastards bully us without fighting back? In this world, no one is born to be bullied!

The reason she was reluctant to continue making a scene was that she was afraid. But now, Chen Fei had given her a glimmer of hope—the hope of being fearless.

”Sister, Yi Shu, you guys...” Only the fashionable woman looked worried, appearing very concerned.

”Sister Deng, why don’t we try what Xiaofei said? I also believe that Liu Guangrong can’t cover the sky with one hand here in Chengyang County. If that were really the case, and a county party secretary let his relatives commit crimes and act like tyrants, we could definitely take him down through legitimate means. After all, the disciplinary committees in the city and the province aren’t just for show. Liu Guangrong must be afraid of them,” Lin Ling added.

Clearly, the ”legitimate means” she spoke of involved taking legal action by appealing to the higher-level disciplinary committees. No matter how powerful Liu Guangrong’s influence was in Chengyang County, he couldn’t act recklessly in front of those departments.

Of course, while that was easy to say, the reality was that the people in the provincial and municipal disciplinary committees weren’t just sitting around with nothing better to do. Without direct orders from a superior or something to gain, no one would want to offend a county party secretary for no reason. After all, anyone who reached that position had powerful backers, making the situation extremely complicated.

Chen Fei certainly understood this reasoning and believed his mother must have been aware of it too. Yet, his mother had just said such things, her tone full of confidence. This stunned Chen Fei, and a flicker of surprise appeared in his gaze.

”Well… alright, let’s give it a try. But this is the last time!” Aunt Deng hesitated for a long while before finally nodding slightly in agreement.

”Alright, I’ll make a phone call.”

Seeing this, Chen Fei stood up from the dining table, returned to his bedroom, and once again dialed Mayor Huang Tao’s number.

The phone had barely started ringing when it was answered. Then, Huang Tao’s enthusiastic voice came through, ”Mr. Chen, what’s the matter? Is it time for me to take action?”

”The situation is different from what I initially thought. I don’t know if Liu Guangrong is aware of this or if he’s involved in the matter of maliciously withholding project funds from the construction team. I’m planning to go make a scene this afternoon. I’ll take my neighbor with me to get the owed funds back first. If County Party Secretary Liu Guangrong shows up to protect the other party and bends the law for personal gain...” As Chen Fei spoke, his eyes flashed with an involuntary hint of coldness.

An official who bends the law for personal gain or engages in corruption must be brought to justice to restore fairness for the people.

”That’s simple. I’ll head to Chengyang County with my people right now,” Huang Tao replied without hesitation. ”If Liu Guangrong is genuinely unaware of the situation and isn’t corrupt, it will just look like a new official making his initial inspection tour. I can casually choose a county to visit, and no one will suspect a thing. But if it’s the opposite, and County Party Secretary Liu Guangrong of Chengyang County really is crooked, then this will be just perfect, hehe.”

It’s important to realize that the saying about a new official making a strong initial impact isn’t a joke. He had just become mayor, and his position wasn’t yet secure. With many people still watching him, it was the perfect time to assert his authority. Taking on a county party secretary was just the right level of challenge. It was perfect.

Of course, another reason he agreed so readily was Chen Fei. After all, who was Chen Fei? In Huang Tao’s eyes, he was an extraordinary man, practically a living deity. Typically, the government would classify such individuals as ’S-class’ threats, people who could potentially destabilize society. With that in mind, if Chen Fei ran into any trouble, Huang Tao felt compelled to be the first to arrive on the scene.

”That’s a good plan. Let’s go with that. Uncle Huang, I’m going to hang up now.” Having gotten the answer he wanted, Chen Fei cheerfully ended the call. He then hesitated for a moment before dialing another number saved in his phone’s messages.

”Hello, Director Wang? Hi, this is Chen Fei…”

「Two-ten in the afternoon. Headquarters of Sheng’an Real Estate Company in Chengyang County!」

”It’s you again, kid? Get out of here! Unauthorized personnel are forbidden! Can’t you read the sign?” A burly security guard covered in tattoos glared as soon as he saw the ”familiar face” return to cause trouble, shouting sharply.

”What do you mean ’unauthorized’? Where is Wang Yifa? Tell him to get out here! You have to settle the project payment you owe us today. Hurry up and get him out here!” However, Yi Shu, who was large and powerfully built, was even more aggressive. He grabbed the guard’s collar and demanded.

”Are you fucking looking for a death wish? Let go of me!” the tattooed security guard cursed, trying to free himself.

Another guard, who looked like a captain, approached with a baton. He didn’t strike Yi Shu, but he provocatively tapped him on the shoulder. ”Hey, pal, you must really enjoy jail time. Want to go back for another visit?” His tone dripped with mockery and threats.

”Listening to you, it sounds like the police station is owned by your family. You can send anyone you want there, is that it?” a young voice interjected.

Only then did the guards notice that Aunt Deng’s family, who had come to demand payment, included another young man besides Yi Shu. It was, of course, Chen Fei.

”Fuck, who the hell are you? Who gave you the right to speak?” The captain-like guard, seeing Chen Fei dare to talk back to him, erupted in curses, his face turning fierce as if Chen Fei was completely beneath his notice.

SMACK!

In the next instant, Chen Fei raised his hand and swung it hard across the man’s face. The crisp slap shocked everyone present into stunned silence.

The scene fell deathly quiet.

The tattooed security guard was also momentarily stunned.

A few other guards nearby were dumbfounded. Holy shit! Who is this kid? It’s one thing to barge into the headquarters of Sheng’an Real Estate with just two people, but he actually dared to hit someone! Did he really have the guts of a leopard?

”Fuck! Who is that brat? How dare he hit someone on my turf! Du, what are you standing there for? Go arrest him!” Not far from the company, two police cars were parked on the roadside. Inside one of them, the pot-bellied Wang Yifa saw the provocative act and couldn’t stop himself from bellowing.

”Let’s go! Get out of the car!”

Seeing the situation, Du Yuanbing signaled his subordinates to exit the vehicle. He walked toward Yi Shu’s group with a sneer and said, ”You just got out of the station this morning, and you’re back to cause trouble this afternoon? You’ve got guts!”

”Causing trouble?”

Although Yi Shu felt a flicker of unease seeing how quickly Du Yuanbing and Wang Yifa had appeared, his anger surged when he heard his rightful demand for payment being called ”causing trouble.” He pointed a finger at Du Yuanbing’s nose and yelled, ”Are you blind? I’m here to collect the payment I’m owed! How is that causing trouble?”

He then turned and pointed at the fat-bellied Wang Yifa next to him, cursing loudly, ”And you! Didn’t you claim you were hospitalized because I injured you? You look perfectly fine now! You damn cheat, give me my project payment, or you’re not taking a single step out of this gate today!”

As he spoke, he moved to block the main entrance of the Sheng’an Real Estate Company.

”What are you bastards still standing around for? Go! Arrest him now!” Seeing Yi Shu act so defiantly on his own turf, Wang Yifa felt his authority had been challenged and roared for Du Yuanbing’s officers to make the arrest. Seeing this, the officers prepared to move.

”Heh, interesting. It really seems the police station belongs to them. Otherwise, why are you junior officers so eager to act before your chief has even said a word?” the young voice rang out again.

”Who the fuck gave you the right to speak here?” Wang Yifa roared furiously at Chen Fei’s audacity. In full view of everyone, he brazenly swung a hand to slap Chen Fei across the face.

BANG!

But before his hand could connect, Chen Fei shot out a foot and kicked him squarely in the stomach. Wang Yifa’s rotund body flew two or three meters, crashing into tables and chairs with a chaotic clatter. The employees of Sheng’an Real Estate, the security guards, and the officers from the Xicheng Police Station all stared, completely dumbfounded.

No one could have imagined that here, in Chengyang County, someone would actually dare to attack Wang Yifa, the boss of Sheng’an Real Estate. And to do it right in front of all of them, no less. Wang Yifa was the brother-in-law of the county party secretary, Liu Guangrong. Didn’t this kid know that?

”Fuck… you dare to hit me?” After a moment of silence, Wang Yifa snarled from the ground where he lay groaning in pain.

BANG!

Chen Fei glanced down at him, then suddenly lifted his leg and delivered another vicious kick.

CRACK!

A sharp snapping sound came from Wang Yifa’s corpulent body, causing everyone present to flinch as if jolted by electricity. Disbelief instantly flooded their faces.

Was that… a bone… breaking?!

”AHH! My bone is broken! Du, what are you all standing there for? Get him! Arrest him!” Wang Yifa shrieked hysterically from the floor.

He was Wang Yifa! The brother-in-law of the county party secretary, Liu Guangrong! To be beaten in such a public place, in front of so many eyes, and to even have a bone broken by a kick from Chen Fei… it was an absolute disgrace! The ultimate, unbearable humiliation!

Right now, all he wanted was for Du Yuanbing to immediately arrest this audacious young man who had dared to touch him. He wanted him dragged to the police station!

He wanted revenge! He had to have his revenge
