You have to understand, the two formidable, black-clad bodyguards flanking Zheng Kuangyi were the Black Clothes Gang’s top enforcers—the best fighters they had. Yet now, they hadn’t even seen Chen Fei move before their boss was slapped again. How could their faces not burn with shame?

”You little shit, you’re looking for death!” In the next moment, faces contorted with malice, they closed in. Their muscles and bones emitted a terrifying CREAKING sound as they advanced.

Zheng Kuangyi, having been slapped again, was truly enraged. Clutching his burning cheek, he roared with a vicious expression, ”Fuck! Kill him for me! I, Zheng Kuangyi, will take responsibility for anything that happens. Just break his legs!”

”Yes! Boss.”

Upon hearing the command, a cruel look appeared on the faces of the two Black Clothes Gang enforcers. As they slowly advanced on Chen Fei, they deliberately cracked their knuckles and rolled their necks, the corners of their mouths lifting into cruel smiles, as if they thought such posturing was cool and violent. One of them sneered at Chen Fei, ”You punk, you’ve got some serious nerve laying a hand on our boss!”

”Heh, why waste words on him? Just break his arms and legs and let him spend the rest of his life in a hospital bed!” the other one added with a cold laugh.

”Hey, look over there! Are those guys fighting?”

”Shh! Shut up! Do you have a death wish? Keep it down before they hear us... We should get out of here.”

”Get out of here? Why? Let’s watch the show from a distance. It’s not every day you see this kind of excitement.”

Just as the two Black Clothes Gang enforcers were closing in on Chen Fei, sneering as they flanked him, a growing number of passersby began to notice the commotion. Whispers started to ripple through the small crowd. Some looked panicked, but others watched with avid interest.

Clearly, the world is never short of bold people! A love for gawking is truly human nature!

Zheng Kuangyi’s expression darkened as he saw the crowd forming. If they waited any longer and more people showed up, it would get troublesome. They had to make this quick! He urged his men impatiently, ”What the hell are you waiting for? Get on with it! Cripple him—”

But before he could even finish his ferocious command, Chen Fei, who was surrounded by the two enforcers, suddenly moved. With a single punch and a single kick, a series of rapid, muffled impacts rang out. THUMP! THUMP! His fist and foot slammed violently into the waist and chest of each man.

BOOM! BOOM!

With two heavy thuds, their bodies hit the ground. The two muscular enforcers fell, their faces pale as they sprawled on the pavement, unable to get back up.

”Whoa, what the hell...?” Not far away, the onlookers hiding around the corner were utterly shocked. Their jaws dropped, and their eyes bulged like goldfish as they stared, rendered speechless.

They weren’t blind. It was obvious the two muscle-bound men in black were bad news; their expressions were fierce, and they were clearly about to beat someone up in broad daylight. And the two were so large that any normal person would be intimidated just by looking at them.

But now, they had been taken down, clean and quick, by a young man who looked almost frail in comparison. How could they not be shocked?

Holy crap... That was awesome! Could he be one of those legendary Martial Forest masters? Heh heh heh!

”You... you... you...”

As for Zheng Kuangyi, all his previous arrogance had vanished. His overbearing, gang-leader presence was completely gone. Trembling like a clay statue, he pointed a shaking finger at Chen Fei, utterly unable to believe what he had just seen.

He knew the strength of his men perfectly well. They were recognized as top enforcers in the gang. They might be a cut below those mysterious, legendary Ancient Martial Artists, but at the very least, no ordinary international bronze or silver-level bodyguard could match them, not even one-on-one! But now…

How could a normal young man, dressed in cheap street-stall clothes worth a few hundred yuan, so easily take down two of the Black Clothes Gang’s ace fighters? Is this a joke? Zheng Kuangyi felt like he was going insane.

”What’s the matter? Can’t handle it anymore?” Chen Fei suddenly spoke with a smile, his tone dripping with mockery. ”Weren’t you going to break my arms and legs? Come on, I’m waiting.”

After the brief clash, he had gauged the so-called ace fighters’ strength. They were decent, maybe comparable to a Second Rate Ancient Martial Artist. The problem was, to him now, that level was nowhere near enough to be a threat. If he hadn’t been in a good mood and decided to go easy on these ’ordinary people,’ the outcome would have been far more severe.

Chen Fei glanced at the two Black Clothes Gang henchmen, who were now struggling to their feet. He grinned and laughed, ”I say, Mr. Toad, do you have any more tricks up your sleeve? Because these two idiots really aren’t much of a show!”

”What did you say?” the two enforcers snarled, furious, but they didn’t dare to rush in again.

”Kid, I advise you not to get too arrogant!” Zheng Kuangyi’s face turned livid with rage at the mockery. ”What do you think modern society is? You think being a good fighter makes you invincible? Believe it or not, I, Zheng Kuangyi, can easily find ten or even a hundred men to fight you. No matter how tough you are, can you fight a hundred men at once?”

Who the hell do I, Zheng Kuangyi, think I am? I’m the top dog of Northern Mountain City’s underworld! I’ve seen it all. So what if you can fight? Can you fight ten men? A hundred? Fine, even if you can, can you go up against guns and modern technology? Back then, even Tiger Leopard Hall, those powerful outsiders who tried to muscle in on my territory, were crushed. I personally shot more than ten of their so-called legendary Ancient Martial Artists. If people who rely solely on martial arts end up like that, what can a young nobody like you possibly do? I, Zheng Kuangyi, refuse to believe you’re more formidable than a gun, more powerful than a bullet!

”Is that so? We’ll see about that,” Chen Fei replied, his good mood finally starting to wear thin. This brainless fool just kept pushing it. ”But before that,” he continued, his expression turning cold as a menacing glint appeared in his eyes, ”I need to collect some interest from you.”

”You... What are you going to do? I’m warning you, if you dare—” When Zheng Kuangyi met Chen Fei’s cold gaze, a chill shot through him, and his face paled.

Before the rest of the threat could leave his lips, Chen Fei stepped in front of him with a cold laugh. Towering over the man with a mocking expression, he casually tapped his shoulder joint. With a sharp CRACK, Zheng Kuangyi’s arm went limp, dangling uselessly at his side. The color drained from the gang leader’s face.

”What... what did you do to me!?”

Zheng Kuangyi never imagined Chen Fei would actually dare to do this. His face darkened, and his voice was filled with venom.

”As you can see, I’ve just temporarily disabled your arm. Consider it a small lesson. However, this young master recommends you find a reliable traditional Chinese doctor to set the bone within three days. Otherwise, that arm might really become useless! Ha ha ha!”

Chen Fei laughed as he walked away, leaving a shivering Zheng Kuangyi behind, his eyes flashing with a mixture of panic and fury.

What? He had to find a reliable doctor within three days or his arm would be permanently crippled? This… this was going too far! This was utterly humiliating!

”Boss, what do we do now?” one of the henchmen asked, a shoe print still visible on his chest. His voice was grim as he approached Zheng Kuangyi. ”That kid is strong. I’m afraid even if all four of our ace fighters teamed up, we still might not be his match. Unless... unless we can convince the Grandmaster to take action.”

He was, after all, one of the Black Clothes Gang’s four renowned ace fighters. To be beaten by a man barely in his twenties was a profound embarrassment.

”Ask the Grandmaster for help? No! We can’t bother the Grandmaster with such a trivial matter.” Zheng Kuangyi shook his head without hesitation, his expression grim. ”Hmph! So we can’t beat him in a fight. Does that mean we don’t have other ways of dealing with him? Let’s go. First, I need to get this arm fixed!”

After the group slunk away for the second time, tails between their legs, Chen Fei immediately sprinted back to the supermarket. He grabbed soy sauce, salt, and eggs and, under the astonished gaze of the supermarket owner, scurried back to Oak Forest Community.

After all that time he was delayed in the park, who knew how long had passed? Had the woman upstairs gotten tired of waiting?

Sure enough, the moment Chen Fei returned to Guan Shiyin’s apartment, she muttered in an unhappy tone, ”What took you so long? Don’t tell me you got lost.”

Was he kidding? She had only asked him to go down and buy some soy sauce, salt, and eggs. It shouldn’t take that long, should it? It had been almost half an hour. Besides, wasn’t there a supermarket right outside the community? Did he actually get lost and fail to find it?

Chen Fei laughed awkwardly, unsure how to explain. He decided to just make something up. ”Uh, well... I suddenly got a bit of a stomachache, so... heh heh.”

”Oh. Well, give me the things, then. You can go rest for a bit.” Guan Shiyin rolled her eyes but didn’t have the heart to press him further. She reached out with a fair, smooth hand, took the plastic bag of groceries from him, and turned back to the stove to get busy.
