”Brother Fei, I really can’t thank you enough for today. Without your help, I wouldn’t have known what to do,” Gu Feishuang said, her beautiful eyes filled with gratitude.

”Come on, saying that makes it sound like we’re strangers. Have you forgotten we’re friends?” Chen Fei shook his head with a smile and added, ”But you really should change your manager. What a terrible person. If it’s inconvenient for you to say something, I can find some time to give Liu Cheng a call.”

”I’ll handle it myself. You don’t need to worry about this, Brother Fei.” Gu Feishuang’s heart warmed at his words, but she couldn’t help leaning in to whisper, ”But you need to be careful when we get to Tongzhou City Airport. Judging by that fatso’s expression, I don’t think he’s going to let this go.” After all, first class wasn’t that big. Since she was sitting in the very front row, she could easily steal glances at Lau Tianqi’s sullen face behind them, and she couldn’t help but worry.

”Relax, relax. I highly doubt he can do anything to me here in Jiangnan. He’s just a posturing clown,” Chen Fei said dismissively, waving his hand. Clearly, he wasn’t afraid at all.

”That’s true,” Gu Feishuang’s worried expression softened. It was only then that she remembered Chen Fei was from Jiangnan Province to begin with. On top of that, even people like Young Master Xiao treated him with such respect. He was definitely not an ordinary person, so there was no need for her to worry needlessly.

With that thought, a bold idea flashed through her mind. Blushing, she took Chen Fei’s arm and rested her head on it. ”Brother Fei, I’m a bit sleepy, so I’m going to borrow your arm. You don’t mind, do you?” she giggled.

”Uh, of course… Alright, rest if you need to.” Chen Fei was both amused and flustered by her words, and his heart began to beat a little faster.

...

”Who is Mr. Lau? We’re with airport security!” A moment later, several security officers in uniform hurried over from a restricted-access channel. Their expressions were stern as they called out in an authoritative voice.

Gu Feishuang’s expression changed instantly. It’s over... these people must have been sent by Lau Tianqi.

”Officers, I am Lau Tianqi. Lau Yunbing is my uncle.” Seeing his backup arrive, Lau Tianqi immediately became cocky. He pointed a finger at the perfectly calm Chen Fei and accused him, ”It was him! He hit me on the plane. My bodyguard and the flight attendants from that flight can all testify to it.”

”How can you say that? You started it! Brother Fei was forced to defend himself. You’re blatantly lying! Officers, please don’t listen to his nonsense!” Hearing him twist the truth so shamelessly, Gu Feishuang’s pretty face paled, and she quickly tried to explain the situation to the airport security officers.

”Let me ask you, did you or did you not hit the victim?” one of the officers asked coldly after exchanging a look with his colleagues. They had already designated Lau Tianqi as the victim, which made Chen Fei’s gaze turn cold.

”I was simply acting in self-defense,” he replied with extreme calm.

”Then there’s nothing more to say. Since you admit to hitting someone, you’re coming with us!” upon hearing Chen Fei’s words, the officer sneered, leaving no room for argument.

”Hey, aren’t you going too far? Since when is acting in self-defense a reason to arrest someone?” Gu Feishuang interjected angrily, trying to stop them.

”Step aside. Don’t obstruct us from carrying out our pub—”

”Captain, wait. I think I recognize her. Isn’t she the one who acted in ’XXX’? Captain, I think this woman is a minor celebrity.” Just then, another officer suddenly leaned over and whispered to his superior, having recognized Gu Feishuang.

In this day and age, whether you were a Third Tier, second-tier, or First-Class celebrity, you were still a public figure and couldn’t be trifled with so easily. Sure enough, as soon as Captain Pu heard that Gu Feishuang was a celebrity, he grew hesitant. Even though they weren’t detaining *her*, a public figure couldn’t be trifled with. If this whole thing blew up, it would be a huge mess to clean up, even if they were technically in the right. On the other hand, Lau Tianqi was Vice Mayor Lau’s nephew—someone he couldn’t afford to offend.

”Hmph! So what if she’s a celebrity, Captain Pu? Are celebrities above the law? Can they shield criminals who commit assault?” Lau Tianqi sneered.

Captain Pu’s eyebrow twitched. Sensing Lau Tianqi’s displeasure, he gritted his teeth and said, ”Alright, come with us for now. We’ll sort out the facts of the case in due time.”

Seeing them put on a show of ’impartial law enforcement’ and acting by the book, a hint of coldness flashed in Chen Fei’s eyes. He then spoke without emotion, ”If that’s the case, I’ll go with you. Fei Shuang, don’t worry about me. If you have things to do, you should go.”

”I won’t! This happened because of me. If they’re going to take you, they can take me too!” Gu Feishuang shook her head firmly.

”Miss, we are performing our official duties. Please do not obstruct us,” Captain Pu said with a frown.

”Aren’t you here to deal with the assault? This involves me too. If you’re going to take Brother Fei, then take me to the station as well,” Gu Feishuang replied, her tone even more resolute.

”If that’s how it’s going to be, then take them both back to the station!” Captain Pu’s expression darkened as he waved his hand to make the arrest. He then sneered and muttered under his breath, ”Hmph. So they’d rather do this the hard way. Do they really think being a minor celebrity makes them so special?”
