High School of Demon Hunting

Chapter 2351: Chapter 572: Reinforcements

Today’s Silent Forest is not so silent.

Or rather, the name Silent Forest originally represented the wizards’ deepest hopes for this forest. It is usually not so quiet, but today it is particularly bustling.

Deep in the woods, the gray sky suddenly became filled with dark clouds, followed by rolling thunder and flashing lightning, yet no moisture drifted through the air.

The tree elves on the edge of the Silent Forest mistakenly thought the spring thunder had come early and poked their heads out of the tree holes, only to find they were still in the cold and frozen season, so they cursed loudly and shrank back.

A few tree elves living at the top of the trees, driven by curiosity, craned their necks to see the hundreds of lightning strikes pouring down like torrential rain from the rolling dark clouds, engulfing that small patch of forest in the distance, the sparking reflections in their wide eyes. The air was filled with a sense of tension.

The earth was shaking.

No Earth Dragon was turning over, nor was it the season for Silent Forest to resurge, yet countless magical beasts fled the woods, running away from that thunderstorm. Giant waves rose in the Silent River, bird flocks flew above the treetops, shadows appeared and disappeared in the gray world, and hoarse, strange songs faintly echoed in the silent woods.

”Quick!”

”A bit faster!”

”Almost there!”

Dozens of wizards cloaked in black flew through the forest like big birds, forming an uneven yet orderly formation, charging towards the place engulfed by the ’thunderstorm’.

Occasional, brief exchanges could be heard within the group.

”Can you control those damn songs?”

”Suspected phenomenon during the advancement of a Big Wizard, temporarily no side effects found... Also no suitable solution to dissolve it.”

”Can’t use the Escape Technique yet?”

”The Trident Sword has applied for a spatial anchor before, and the battlefield has been ’cared for’ by the Protection Legal Formation, causing severe space folds within the area. Forcibly using the Escape Technique will very likely cause chaotic space flows.”

”How much longer?”

”At least five minutes... it will require wasting another batch of magic potions.”

”Any new battle reports from the Divination Group?”

”Our hunting teams are heavily damaged under the Protection Legal Formation’s attack along with the Raven, six of our hunting teams lost their Second Rank deployment capability, only the Atonement Hunting Team’s the Bo Fu Clan battle formation is barely operating; Raven’s Illegal Laboratory has landed and actively opened, releasing many Blue Trolls and Berserker experimental subjects, the situation is urgent...”

...

...

Bang!

Fire flashed.

A huge Blue Troll’s head exploded in the air, as if a box of dye had been opened, red, yellow, white, purple, all overflowed at once.

A tall witch wiped the slippery substance splattered on her face, turned around, handed the Charm Gun to a partner, and shouted sharply, ”What’s the situation now?”

”The Trident Sword’s Skytswallow Hunting Team and Peacock Hunting Team have joined with the Iron Cross Hunting Team, the School Works Committee’s Flying Fish Hunting Team has also joined with the Baize Hunting Team,” a skinny warlock said while rapidly changing the ammunition of the Charm Gun, quickly reporting the battlefield situation, ”Captain, we should retreat too... At least should initially meet up with the Atonement Hunting Team!”

He was answered by a figure leaping high.

The witch seemed to transform into a nimble deer, kicking two roaring Blue Trolls to the ground with her airborne kick, consecutively flicking her fingers, several Explosion charms instantly plastered upon the faces of those Blue Demons.

Boom! Boom!

Massive explosions sounded almost simultaneously, interspersed with the witch’s intermittent voice, ”School... there... any news?”

The Team Diviner, a long-haired, fair-skinned warlock clearly responded, ”Only battlefield communications have been restored, long-distance communication is severely disrupted... but according to calculated conditions, reinforcements can definitely arrive within ten minutes!”

While speaking, two streams of spell light surged from his law book, one before the other, fell into the Blue Troll group charging in from behind, chaos spell and soft leg curse burst forth simultaneously, the trolls immediately fell down all over, turning into chaos.

”Damn it!”

The witch passed through a cloud of smoke, returning to her companions, reached out to take the reloaded Charm Gun handed by a comrade, turned, aimed at those giants struggling to rise, cursed furiously, ”Ten minutes! To collect our corpses? If I can return alive, I will draw a Dick on every wall of the school! Never seen such a pitiful Guardian Formation!”

Boom! Boom! Boom!

The curses were mixed with the loud roars of the Charm Gun, deafening, the distant heads of the Blue Trolls exploded one after another, yet there were too many of them. Even if her shooting was precise, fists couldn’t match the overwhelming numbers, within moments, this hunting team was completely submerged by the Blue Trolls swarming from all directions.

Whoosh!

Whoosh!

Two large blue hands parted the Blue Trolls piled like hills left and right, revealing the pale-yellow, rock-like Protective Barrier beneath, and the hunters briefly resting within the barrier. Noticing the light falling from above, the witch and her companions raised their heads in surprise to look upward.

”Captain of Chilin Team?”

A rumbling greeting came from half air, then a massive head appeared, almost covering the sky, its enormous blue eyes slightly turned, whose breath swept like a hurricane, ”The retreat route is cleared, this place is dangerous, you can transfer to the rear for rest... The school’s reinforcements will arrive soon.”

”Thank you!”

The witch waved her arm loudly in gratitude, lowered her head, then slapped herself in the face, her voice full of frustration, ”Our Assistant Team’s hunting team was actually rescued by a group of sophomore hunting teams... Who has a memory potion in their bag now? I don’t want to remember this moment for even a minute.”

”Heard most members of the Atonement Hunting Team are Hilda’s students? He must be ecstatic.”

”The captain of Atonement reportedly was guided into the school by Thomas... I’m signing up for the guide registration next semester too, maybe I’ll bring in a student to save Hilda.”

”By the way, did any of you notice, that strange song seems to have stopped...”

Though the atmosphere in the barrier remained tense and heavy, compared to being overwhelmed by Blue Trolls, it was much more relaxed. The hunters rapidly dismantled the barrier stones supporting the Protective Barrier, the pale-yellow mountain flashed slightly, transforming into dotted light spots.

Crack!

A crisp shattering sound came from mid-air.

The captain of the Red Training Hunting Team heard it and looked up, eyes dilating in shock. A huge, dry claw appeared from the side, silently piercing the Blue Giant’s rib, lightning flickered, the Blue Giant seemed like a glass figurine shattered, spider-web-like cracks centered on that large claw quickly spread in all directions, continuously emitting cracking sounds.

In an instant, the True Form of the battle formation condensed by the Atonement Hunting Team was smashed to pieces.
