High School of Demon Hunting

Chapter 2396: Chapter 617: Main Residence

The Zhongshan Jiang Family also has a mansion on Buji Island.

Zheng Qing clearly remembered that when he first entered university, Li Meng had mentioned on the plane about his cousin’s residence in Beta Town and her laboratory in the tower.

As for why the young witch came to Buji Island earlier this year and didn’t stay at her own home but instead stayed at the Greenhill Mansion, Zheng Qing dared not say, nor dared to ask.

But since even Su Shijun hadn’t expressed any opposition, why would he invite trouble for himself— the boy consoled himself, obediently dragging Jiang Yu’s small suitcase, following behind the two witches, slowly passing through the small garden.

Su Shijun walked in front, hands behind her back, elegant yet with a touch of laziness. At some point, she had removed her glasses, and her charming aura made the flowers and plants in the garden bow in submission. Some sensitive flowers even turned their calyxes, curling their crowns, pretending they hadn’t bloomed yet. And among the flowers, elves forgot their shyness, each poking out their heads, stretching their necks, unfolding their transparent and beautiful wings, eagerly watching as the witch walked through the flower bed, hoping for her to take another glance at them.

Jiang Yu held Poseidon, walking in the middle with a light and unhurried pace. She kept her head down, eyes forward, focusing all her attention on the Little Fox, with a gentle smile emerging on her face— the Little Fox finally got her wish, catching the black butterfly on her shoulder, now holding it with two furry paws, blowing gently to make the butterfly flap its wings, revealing the dazzling colors on its wings.

Sitting on the suitcase, the plush bear’s eyes gleamed as it looked at the dazed flower sprites, its transparent glass beads under the sun flashing with a gleam named ”desire,” seemingly about to lose control of the bear part deep within and jump into the flower bed to freely unleash its wildness.

”If you don’t want to be hung up and beaten by Su Ya, don’t target those flower sprites.” Zheng Qing slowed his pace, bent down, softly warning it, then paused and added: ”... Grass Spirits are off limits too!”

The light in the plush bear’s eyes visibly dimmed.

Zheng Qing finally felt a little better.

But only just a bit.

And even that small bit vanished without a trace as he followed the two witches through the flower garden, listening to their ’pleasant’ conversation.

”...Usually, it’s just my husband and I living in this mansion, there are plenty of empty rooms, you can choose whichever you want, and stay as long as you like.” Su Shijun escorted the guest through the foyer and along the winding corridor, giving a simple tour of the Greenhill Mansion: ”You’re a friend of Zheng Qing, which naturally makes you my friend too, no need to be formal.”

”Husband and wife?” Jiang Yu raised her eyelids, stroking Poseidon’s smooth fur, showing a touch of appropriate surprise: ”Why don’t I remember the family receiving a wedding invitation from Greenhill?”

Implying that the claim of ’husband and wife’ was not genuine.

”Get on board first, pay the ticket later. You’ll receive the wedding invitation in a few months.” Su Shijun seemed unfazed by her choice of words, casually replying: ”With his grasp of talismans, graduating early is not difficult...”

Jiang Yu’s pace slightly slowed.

Though she still had her back to Zheng Qing, the warlock could clearly feel two sharp gazes seemingly loop around from the witch’s front, brutally piercing at him, making him freeze on the spot, thinking to explain, but the conversation was again taken over by the two witches before he could speak.

”A few months later,” Jiang Yu said indifferently: ”Several months ago, if someone said that Su Councilor had a child with a boy who hadn’t even started college, the whole Alliance would probably think it was a huge joke... who knows what will happen in a few months?”

They can’t be allowed to chat any further.

This was the only thought in Zheng Qing’s mind, even with his somewhat slow reaction, he could sense the explosions of invisible sparks in the air, a sign of how dire the situation had become.

Just then.

From behind him came the sound of a lively trot.

The warlock turned his head and saw Su Ya hurriedly running towards them, holding a large tray, and on the tray was a delicate tea set, with a faint tea aroma rising from the teapot spout, calming anyone who smelled it.

Zheng Qing never thought Su Ya could be so adorable.

”Ladies, tea!” The Little Fox Lady hurriedly ran up to the two witches, enthusiastically holding up the tray - it was rare for the Head Maid to assign her such an important task, and she must do it well!

Zheng Qing suddenly felt that the red envelope he gave Su Ya last night was a bit too small.

”Yes, yes, tea, tea.” The warlock finally dared to come a bit closer, and before the witches could speak, he seized the moment to pour himself a small cup of tea, drank it directly, then kept praising: ”Good tea, good tea... Eh! Dong Dong seems a bit tired and wants to sleep? I’ll take her to rest!”

Saying so, he unceremoniously took the Little Fox from Jiang Yu’s arms.

”Squeak!”

The Little Fox opened her big eyes, loudly refuting the warlock’s nonsense.

”No, you want to sleep.” Zheng Qing ignored her struggles, pretending not to see the profound gazes of the witches, grabbed the Little Fox, and walked toward her room.

However, as soon as he rounded a corner, he stopped, deftly took out two talisman papers to conceal their aura from the grey cloth bag, applied them to himself and Poseidon, held her, and sneakily continued eavesdropping on the witches’ idle chat.

The Little Fox finally stopped struggling, obediently shut her mouth, and her ears stood perfectly straight.

The cups and saucers made a slight sound, tea aroma lingered.

After a moment of silence, the witches’ voices rose again. This time, their conversation no longer had the undertones of hostility, as Su Shijun casually introduced the directions and taboos of different rooms, while Jiang Yu continuously praised the mansion’s decoration and layout.

Just when Zheng Qing secretly breathed a sigh of relief, thinking the trouble was over.

The two witches erupted into conflict again during the room selection.

”This one is the main house, with the best location.”

Su Shijun smiled at the cold-faced Jiang Yu, then pointed to another room on the diagonal side: ”That one is the largest... which do you choose?”

”It doesn’t matter,” Jiang Yu spit out a phrase totally inconsistent with her usual image, speaking coolly: ”At home, wherever I live, that’s the main house.”

Under the Moon Council’s Upper House Member smiled, smiling, her eyes narrowing slightly.

A pale blue magical aura rose from her body, surging toward the guest like a tide. Almost simultaneously, a layer of light gold spell light rose from Jiang Yu’s body, like a Gold Mountain, firmly guarding her underneath.

At this moment, water floods the Gold Mountain, yet the Gold Mountain remains unmoved.

Hiding in the corner with Poseidon, Zheng Qing silently sweated, fearing that the next second, the entire mansion would be razed to the ground by the volatile magical fluctuations.

Wow! So cool!

Poseidon held her little paws, eyes shining, but it was unclear who she was cheering for.
