Chapter 2190: Chapter 411: Great Rat

”I suddenly don’t know which situation is worse.”

As a Blood Werewolf, Dylan has the sharpest sense of smell, so his reaction was the most intense. He immediately pinched his nose and said in a muffled voice, ”...is it more wasteful to expend some magic power to kill these monsters in the wind and snow, or to dispel the snow and then smell their stench!”

”It’s too smelly! Compared to them, the Fishmen of Lin Zhong Lake are like Ninfus covered in perfume!” Xin Fat Man chimed in with a blue face.

Jiang Yu furrowed her brows and recopied the altered spell.

”Strange.”

She murmured, her voice showing some confusion: ”If I remember correctly, ’Expel the wind and rain, and the rodent goes’ should not only clear the weather and expel rodents but also freshen the air... Why is the atmosphere still so murky, and why haven’t these Human-faced Rats been driven away?”

”Maybe the Human-faced Rats aren’t considered mice?” Zheng Qing speculated, casually tucking the short Colt into his belt, switching to another Remington, and firing in the densest direction of the Human-faced Rats.

Bang!

The ordinary Flowing Fire Enchantment Bullets, empowered by the Charm Gun, almost turned into a rain of fire, forcefully creating an overwhelming momentum. The snow on the ground and trees was roasted by the fire rain, turning into thick white mist that completely covered the traces of the Human-faced Rats.

”Damn!”

The Atonement Hunting Team’s leader cursed in a low voice.

”The treacherous wind flutters!”

Jiang Yu flipped open the Law Book, releasing two swirling gusts of wind to try to make up for the Warlock’s blunder, while replying: ”I remember the Human-faced Rats are considered Alchemical Creatures and shouldn’t be part of the mice category.”

”Alchemy Creature Kingdom, Class Coelacanth, Order Rodentia, Family Evil Spirit, Genus Mouse, Species Human-faced Rat. There’s a slight difference in the higher ranks, but in essence, they are still considered mice.”

Xiao Xiao’s response was well-founded. Before Zheng Qing could think of a way to save face, he noticed Xiao Xiao’s expression suddenly becoming serious: ”No, the Human-faced Rat Priests are missing!”

In the Crystal Ball, the three Human-faced Rat Priests that were originally in the center of the view had disappeared, like ink spots once again buried by the snowstorm. Despite the Atonement’s Diviner turning the surveillance screen around, they could not find their traces.

”I was just about to say, maybe those Priests are up to something.” The Atonement Hunting Team’s leader muttered, his hands moving quickly, casting a Revealing Spell toward the dispersing mist:

”Endless Revelation, none can hide from me!”

The mist that had been torn apart by the Wind Spell dissipated even more rapidly, and the world suddenly seemed much cleaner, as if it had been washed with water. Everything from the scars on the tree branches to the insect webs in the stone crevices was presented precisely in the Diviner’s Crystal Ball.

But soon, the young Witches of the Atonement Hunting Team realized that they didn’t need to stare intently at the Crystal Ball in the Diviner’s arms anymore.

Boom!

Crack!

Boom, boom, boom!

The heavy footsteps seemed to make the ground shake, and dozens of meters away, the sturdy locust wood and tall Return Soul Poplars were like wheat in the field, pushed aside by giant hands and falling to the sides, revealing a huge, deformed face—it looked like a preschooler’s clay project, a blend of a Giant’s face, a Monkey’s face, and a Mouse’s face, appearing peculiar and abnormal.

At the same time, the sky was ’torn apart’ as well. Under the influence of magic, the clean sky was like being cut by a glass cutter, forming a deep and narrow trench. The wind and snow roaming above the Silent Forest rushed madly into this horrifying canyon, quickly refilling this small world.

A gigantic Human-faced Rat.

Zheng Qing no longer doubted that this Human-faced Rat group was formed based on a giant’s corpse that died in the Silent Forest. That enormous body resembling the true form of a Big Wizard, the purple phosphorescent fur, and the huge tusk-like claws exuding a terrifying chill, all displayed its horror to the Warlock.

”Prepare to change formation!!”

The Atonement Hunting Team’s leader no longer had any illusions, seeing the enormous looming shadow and the giant claws quickly descending within the shadow, he shouted immediately:

”Bo Fu Clan Battle Formation, Second Rank, change formation!”

Over a hundred strong Human-faced Rats surged toward that giant figure from all directions, their expressions fervent, shouting words like ’Azathoth’ and ’Nyarlathotep’, stepping with irregular steps, one after another merging into the huge Human-faced Rat underfoot, becoming one with it.

With each Human-faced Rat devoured, that immense shadow became more substantial and formidable.

”Monitor, Doctor, prepare the Giant Rat Curse!”

While drawing out his Law Book from his waist, Zheng Qing struggled to maintain the stability of the battle formation: ”Everyone else, continue the transformation into the Second Rank! ...Ready?”

He quickly glanced at Jiang Yu and Xiao Xiao, receiving two affirming replies.

The Warlock felt a delightful tension coursing through his veins, from the deepest part of his heart, pumping continuously, reaching every corner of his body. He felt his senses magnified many times, and faintly, he seemed to hear the sharp, detestable cackles of the three Human-faced Rat Priests.

”Giant Rats, Giant Rats!”

The Hunting Team Leader and the two companions raised their Law Books in unison:

”Giant Rats, Giant Rats, to that happy land!”

”Giant Rats, Giant Rats, to that happy kingdom!”

”Giant Rats, Giant Rats, to that happy countryside!”

Three different voices converged onto the same spell, like a firecracker ignited by a fuse. A bright red, centered on the slowly solidifying Bo Fu Giant, suddenly spread outward, instantly engulfing those fervently surging Human-faced Rat swarm, making many small figures disappear quietly within that bright red.

The Giant Rat Curse is often used by Witches to expel muroidia creatures, capable of driving mice within the spell’s range away from the battlefield, returning them to their holes, or banishing them to other worlds.

Of course, whether it’s the endlessly surging Human-faced Rat swarm or the young Witches’ hastily cast Expelling Charm, at this moment, they are merely incidental in the Hunting Ground.

Boom!

A light blue giant hand appeared just in time, supporting above its head, blocking the giant claw slashed down by the massive Human-faced Rat. The yellow-white talons dug deep into the Blue Giant’s hand and arm, blue magical blood gushed forth like a bursting dam, easily flooding a large area of land blue, making the seven Hunters forming the battle formation immediately feel a void rising from the depths of their souls.

Zheng Qing looked heartbroken at the blood flowing from the Blue Giants, watching it transform into starlight and dissipate in the snowstorm—each drop was magic power drawn from them.

”What a... waste!!!”

The Giant’s voice boomed like thunder, shaking the branches of trees violently. He grasped the giant rat’s forelimb with one hand, propped himself up with the other, slowly rising, his whole body brimming with magic power. He began to chant an ancient spell:

”The Giant Rat has skin, why not die?”

”The Giant Rat has teeth, what awaits its death?”

”The Giant Rat has a body, why doesn’t it swiftly die?”
